When we were to leave for the ferry it was raining quite hard for a walk to the ferry terminal. The gal at the desk picked up the phone and had an employee pick us up within minutes and it was free of charge!
The only complaint we have is that the wifi wasn't available in the room. We had to go down the hall to another room to check email etc.
The room was very reasonably priced and delightfully decorated. We were surprised at the excellent value. The hotel is right downtown. The staff was helpful and friendly. We have stayed in Skagway many times but at other higher priced hotels. The Westmark is usually sold out and now I know why.
Unfortunately the hotel closes for the winter. Because this was their last week before closing the restaurant wasn't open. However there are other restaurants close by.
Great Staff, Clean room
Room was small and on second floor
Location good Breakfast buffet good but not great
Headboard fell Temp was too high to sleep comfortable Alarm Clock did not work Fountain outside noisy Parking adequate
Location, friendliness and efficiency of staff, helpful.
Rooms dark. More than two washers and two driers for all the guests to use is too few.
Staff were very helpful. Good breakfast available.
Poor TV reception. Limited access to Internet
Excellent location Helpful staff Clean and comfort rooms
A bit expensive
Price, visibly old plumbing, lack of breakfast.
Being woken up to early
Location, Location, Location!!!! Half a block from downtown activity, but still very quiet at night
room exceptionally small. It was the smallest of all of the rooms we stayed in during our 7 week vacation to Alaska. There is no writing table to work on
Location, cafe, bar, Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi in all rooms would be nice.
This hotel is within walking distance of the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad. The room was comfortable and clean. The portion in which we stayed was across the street from the main lobby so there wasn't so much foot traffic.
Starbucks inhouse big lobby
very small room
We stayed here for one night during our trip around Alaska. The hotel is located close to all attractions and ferry. The rooms are very nice but quite small. Wifi is available only around the reception area.
Centrally located in downtown. Just couple of minutes from Broadway White pass & Yukon railway station port and a trekking route to the mountains. Free parking.
No Wi-Fi in the room.
NICE STAFF, GREAT WAITRESS IN RESTAURANT.
ROOM WAS A BIT STUFFY.
Downtown location , though since it's a one horse location it had to be . Close to railway .
Wifi was only in main building
Age of the building - beginning to look tired -pet friendly room was up-staris
The bed was comfortable. The baggage check option was helpful.
I asked for a quiet room if available. I got an end room on the street. I booked ahead even, and there were two walk up customers without reservations while I was checking who were given rooms (not on an end). The cable tv was a joke, the picture was snowy on every channel on the nice HD TV's that were in the room. (A radio would be preferable since one can only listen to the news anyway) The ceiling tiles were not set in... that's just weird! ...and there seemed to be some kind of mold growing around/under the toilet... eeeeewwww. Courtesy transportation would have been optimal from the ferry, but walking is ok... it was only a few blocks. Good thing it wasn't raining. I checked out and spent the rest of my time at Skagway with accommodations that were much more preferable.
Everything . Hope to return some day .
Staff very helpful with keeping us informed about road closure and reopening info
Comfortable beds. Great location
The central position in Skagway downtown
There was no wifi in our part of the hotel the rooms on the other side of the street compared with the main bulding
Just a block off the shopping walking distance to train and docks. Very quiet
The lounge wasn't open but there was other places close by to unwind
No wi-fi in rooms. No place to put luggage in rooms. Check out required at 10 AM is too early.
