The hotel is very close to the bus stop and walking distance from Union Sq and local amenities The hotel has a spacious entrance but rooms are pretty small. There's carpet everywhere and it looks as if it has not been thoroughly cleaned for years. Walls are not very thick as well as doors, so if people in your corridor are slightly noisy you can hear them from every room |

For the price, we felt we had hit the jackpot. What a beautiful historic luxury hotel in a perfect location. We missed the coffee machine, fridge and microwave. I suppose luxury hotels expect you to use room service but having to leave to get coffee in the morning was a pain. |

The friendly helpful staff and the easy checking in and out. the convenient situation in the city near transport. Also that it is a historic building. No glass in the bathroom. |

Starbucks in the lobby and nearby bart so you didn't have to be out on the sketchy streets for a long time The windows weren't double glazed so you hear all the sirens all night. Bathroom out of date cracked and stained. Toilet barely flushes. Lights in bedroom flickered off. Foriegn staff are rude and inconsiderate but American consierge girl was helpful and kind. Waitress complained about our tip! Door next to hotel is home to a homeless man and subway entrance outside hotel is full of beggers. Not child friendly. |

Cheap, centrally located In a rough neighbourhood, which was not mentioned on the hotel website. Not horrible, but it would have been very incovenient to stay in this hotel alone. |

That I could play the piano. I really appreciated that. The Whitcomb hotel has not a stupid policy that does not allow guest to play the piano. Internet. Wireless not working very well and very slow! |

I was amazed at the value, the service and the sheer beauty of the hotel. Also it is at Civic Center BART and many wonderful theatres. Outstanding value and location for the price. Would highly recommend. service was very professional and just plain nice. |

For the price, this hotel is a steal. It is grand and elegant and feels as comfortable as the priciest hotels in SF. The staff is incredibly attentive and the rooms are elegant and comfortable. |

It was in my favourite city. It was reasonably central. WIth one exception, the staff were all unfriendly and unhelpful. Also they charge $25 for parking, which is exorbitant. Internet had to be paid for and was amongst the slowest and most unreliable of connections I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. |
