Only 2 minutes’ walk away from world famous Waikiki Beach, this 40-storey aparthotel looks out on the Pacific Ocean. It boasts a palm tree-lined outdoor pool and private tennis courts on-site.

Further enough away from main Waikiki strip therefore in quieter location for rest but only short walk until you came to main area of shops restaurants. If you are wanting to use beach multiple times during the day would be better to stay a block away not weave your way between 2.5 blocks of hotels shops and people . Needed to allocate pool towels to each room as they ran out of them!!! This was poor we had to buy our own towels in order to swim at beach or their pool.
Not having pool or beach towels allocated to each rooms occupants . We were told they had ran out of them when we requested them and they also looked quite well worn when we did see them. At times onsite staff were quite loud speaking with each other when working quite early in morning like 6-7 am and quite echo prone corridors and exit doors shutting with unusually loud bangs all the time. Check in time of 3 pm is quite late if you have arrived on early flights, not a good start to your holiday .Other establishments check in from 12 midday on request or earlier if arranged. There was only 1 female receptionist who was lovely and welcoming the main male receptionist was quite abrupt at times and not as helpful or welcoming.
Location was reasonably close to Waikiki for the price
Just didn't feel clean and we were charged a "convenience fee" for in-room internet which didn't exist. You could access the internet in the lobby, but it wasn't much of a lobby or really set up for using a lap-top. Disappointing given that we always choose accommodation with "in-room" internet. It doesn't even need to be Wi-Fi (we bring a cable) but it does need to exist - especially if you are charging guests for it.
When I arrived at the white sands hotel it was refreshing to see that this small hotel looked like it was undergoing a renovation transformation it was great the room was clean and it was being updated. My roommate was nervous about my choice of hotel but when we arrived she was pleasantly surprised at how great it was. Thank you for the improvements keep it up.
Reasonable price, good location.
Very warm, limited parking.
Front desk Staff Clean room
Expensive off site Parking
*The parking stalls were way too small can barely fit a mid size car in them and there is hardly room to park or even pull out of the stalls, you have to do at least a 4 point to pull out or in. *They have a lot of fees they do not tell you about in the ad for their hotel, * Ironically they charge you a $25.00 parking fee every day even though you can barely park, (i only paid $22.00 a day at a much nicer hotel in Honolulu in a better location and with valet.) * Then they charge you a $10.00 convenience fee every day supposedly for use of the x box and movie rental kiosk, but if you tell them you don't want either of them, they tell you sorry we have to charge it anyway. I booked this hotel because they advertised the best price, until you get there and they throw in all the unadvertised fees. I stayed a total of 3 nights and they basically charged me an additional $106.00 above their advertised price for those days I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, IT IS DEFINITELY, DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE.
Front desk , I think her name is Christee, very friendly with a very great personality.
The bar down the street.
Comfortable bed, handy to beach, transport, and very comfortable bed.
Key card access to our room was erratic. We had at least 5 card changes.
The room was very clean, and the bed was big and comfortable. The price was reasonable, and the location was perfect for walking around Waikiki. The staff was very very nice and helpful.
The room was smaller than expected, and had an attached room (with a locked door), so we got a lot of noise from next door. The street underneath the hotel is very busy at night, mostly for drunks, and it can be very loud. Even though the price for the hotel was good, they charge extra for everything. It's $25 a night for parking, and they charge you for extra coffee. There's no elevator to take up your baggage, and there is no wifi in the rooms even though they advertise that there is.
Beach walk, restaurants, and shopping all convinent. Didn't have to use my rental car in Waikiki area.Did a lot of walking, which was good.In the future, yes I definitely would stay there again..
My husband and I didn't like that bar down the street. Too much dramas..
People at the front desk was so willing to help you! Very polite serving you 24/7!! Especially a lady called Christianne -or sth like Christinne, sorry about that- and her colleague working on a 13/08/2014 evening shift! Thank you very much! Good location, proximity to all major attractions or bus stops or whatever
Towels a little bit of dirty. Dull room. Wifi only in public areas.
The staff were friendly enough and the view out my window was pretty- of the pool. I would have said "peaceful" except for...
The very loud "domestic" incident in a hotel room nearby that started up in the late afternoon, and then again in the evening. I called the front desk- amazed that they could not hear what was going on- but this did not stop the yelling and crying for continuing for another hour. I could not have my breakfast at the pretty little table outside my room because of the smelly drain right next to it.
Location was walking distance to the beach and close to all the local food joints
Jacuzzi was broken
Rooms are basic, but clean and fresh, well equipped. The hotel has a beautiful tropical garden with swimmingpool and barbecue area - always really nice hanging out here, meeting other happy guests. I love everything about the White Sands Hotel, still have to mention my absolute favourite thing: The friendly staff - always welcoming us with a big smile! Staff is really helpful and do anything they can to make your stay special and pleasant! Thank you, White Sands, we'll be back!
Great location, average rooms - nice pool
Good pool and relaxation area in a very pleasant tropical garden setting. Pool furniture was very basic.
Rooms described online as having city views, however, our ground floor room instead of a balcony had a small rear concrete 'patio' surrounded by a brick wall with two plastic chairs to sit on. Also room lacked a curtain in kitchen area and this omission allowed lights from nearby shops to shine in our room all night.
I loved the kitchen and all of it's utilities, I live here in Hawaii and me and my honey just needed a get away and it was perfect. I will be going back in November.
I could not get internet on my laptop. I feel you should not to to go out your room to connect. BUT I still will be back
APPEARANCE OF ROOM.--NOISY AC
The location, price and the staff
The staff, especially Christieann, were friendly and helpful. I liked that the hotel was within walking distance of many sites and shuttles were available for the sites that were not. I felt very comfortable even though I was traveling alone.
No Elevator - I was exhausted Couldn't adjust the air conditioners, at least I couldn't figure it out and it wasn't important enough to ask.
the little kitchen was very nice
the shower stall was not to my liking
staffs are friendly.
toilet does not smell good.
I felt like I was in Old Hawaii. It is not for everyone. It is for people who know camp houses and Hawiian hospitality. I was able to walk , at 78 , all over Waikiki.
I liked it all some of my friends would say it needed to be upscaled but do not do that as that it's charm the gardens are beautiful.
Great location near down town.
No lifts to the 3rd floor to carry large suitcases. Nobody helped. Hair of previous guests on the bathroom floor and smelly pillow.
Koi pond room was in front of the pool
room smelled moldy, jacuzzi permanantly out of order, very small room w/ no where to sit. Towels gave my wife a rash.
