I made the reservation for my sister, because my Dad is in the hospital and we are taking turns staying with him. She went to her room and there were a lot of people wandering around at night. The chain/lock on her door had been broken and not replaced in a secure manner. The screen door was open and she did not feel safe staying there.
The Manager, Marsha Miller was nice. The lobby was beautiful.
The room was filthy, carpet was horrid, our socks were literally black, My little dog kept bringing garbage out from under the beds. Bedding had burn holes and stains. Bathroom door stuck, we had to soap it and we still got stuck. They finally sent a person down to take the door and repair it. Bathtub wouldn't drain, my husband took a wire to clean it out. Freezer in fridge needed defrosted about a year ago. We had four adults in our room. We were in Mesa for the Under Armor baseball games/scout recruiting. The lobby of the hotel appears to have received all the money for any upgrades that were done. Two of us were down from Oregon and the other two flew in from Alaska. We will never return to The Windemere for any of our travel needs. We were in room #129 Thank you, Dana McHugill age 63 Stanley McHugill age 65 Brian McHugill age 43 Dalton McHugill age 18
Nice big dirt area to walk the dog. Pet friendly.
The front of the property looks nice, but once you drive to the back where the rooms are, it's a whole different thing. I pulled in at about 9 pm and found several questionable young men all smoking marijuana in the parking lot. There was a beer can on the window ledge of my room. If I did not have a gun and a dog, I would not have stayed. While walking the dog, two different men attempted to approach me, saying, "ma'am", the dog shut them down immediately and they didn't come any closer. This group of men appeared to running some type of business using the hotel as a base of operations. They came and went slamming doors and being loud until 1 am. The next morning I saw the extent of this group, two big box trucks and about 7 or 8 vans all with out of state plates. The least the hotel could have done was put this group in one area so they wouldn't keep everyone else up until 1 am. The heat/air system was so loud I turned it off, but then turned it back on to cover the loud people. I'm sure the room was nice 35 years ago, but it is pretty sad in 2015. No sleep for me. When I checked out the lady at the front counter did not bother to ask how my stay was, I guess they don't care.
The hotel is close to family we were visiting. It is easy to find; the grounds are beautiful. The room was clean.
The breakfast area was woefully underserved. The gravy was almost gone, the coffee was only lukewarm; there was no fork to get the waffle out of the machine. The young lady on duty didn't seem to know how to keep the area up.
Room large, WiFi/TV good
Dirty, well worn furniture, depressing also as a single Peron concerned room location behind building felt apprehensive about safety
It was quiet at night
Appliances are dated and the jacuzzi jets in tub did not work. The coffee pot had old moldy filter left in it and when I asked for a new pot they just removed filter and mold still in filter basket. Behind nightstand was filthy with garbage. Handles on drawers were covered in spilled food from microwave. When checking out the desk agent didn't speak any words to me, so that was final decision for me not to ever stay again.
Place was well located for us, as we were visiting nearby
Really needs renovations, done by qualified tradespeople
The room aren't worth writhing home about but the courtyard and pool and spa are nice.
The rooms are old and could use an up date.
We have been staying in this motel for many years. It is quiet, the garden and pool area are delightful. The staff is great. The rooms comfortable.
We would like to see yogurt and some fruit for breakfast.
The front destk staff was friendly and attentive
I was not overly thrilled with the cleanliness of the room
Said pool was open 24 hours but wasn't.
Could have done with cable or satellite
The price was perfect. The breakfast was included. No loud neighbors.
very pretty grounds; rooms were very clean and comfortable
bed was too soft for my taste
Old and dirty looking carpet.
It was old, no updates
there was a microwave and fridge. the grounds were nice.
dirty and found bugs. really old hotel and it needs A LOT of updating. walls are really thin and internet service was poor quality. not going to stay here again.
The dining area and the staff was very pleasant.
Too out dated. Needs some work done, everything was like back in the sixties.
Great Staff, comfortable basic room. Priced right.
Dated location. Poor breakfast.
Wifi did not work, Airco was loud (!). Checking in and checking out took way too long due to old computers and keycard machines.
NOTHING!! VERY BAD AND NASTY PLACE!!!!!!
EVERYTHING!! BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD, NASTY PLACE DONT STAY THERE!!
During our stay, we had a family emergency. The front desk staff was very helpful, and as we had to check out at 9:30 pm, they only charged us for 1/2 a night. Thank you!
Quiet location away from traffic, spacious grounds, pool, breakfast included. We've tried a number of other hotels in the area, and found thisa great value for the money.
Nothing! If I was a drug addict looking for a place to use and be left alone. This would be the place. My home was being remodeled and I was looking for a nice place for my family to stay for the week.
Everything! Rooms were dirty. Walking bare foot in the room resulted in black feet. Room service was never an option since either they "ran out" of needed pillows or the service was not available as advertised. We had a vaporizor in our room for our son that has breathing problems, by the end of our stay, the filter was black!!! TThe property was riddened by cigarrette butts and empty beer cans. Unkept grounds etc....Like I said.....Calling all drug addicts and drunks....This is your place!
