Everything about the private cottage was delightful, from the size to the decor to the bathroom and the hot tub. Could't fault a thing. Staff were lovely and friendly.

    Leaving.

The Wine Valley Inn is charming and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are neat and clean.

The bathrooms and beds could be better. Especially the shower: The curtain didn't reach to the floor, so water soaked the whole floor when we showered. No shelf space in the shower or the bathroom itself. The bed was just OK.

Location was awesome, walking distance to everthing downtown. I like the old feel and strange architecture of the clocktower building.

Quiet room but this was on the third floor. Excellent hot breakfast and Danish pastries. Walking distance to downtown. Pleasant garden .

I requested a pet free room due to my allergies. No one notified me beforehand that All rooms were pet friendly. I cannot stay in rooms that have dogs. Also, our room had one step across the room between the bathroom and the bed. My husband and I both tripped twice each because there was no way to see it due to the same carpet color. No elevator to third floor.

    Friendly staff

I have to say that my husband and I were extremely disappointed with the Wine Valley Inn. Our air conditioner wasn't working properly and we reported it to the staff. They gave us instructions on how to set it properly, but it still didn't work. The wi-fi was horrible and we were unable to sign on. The continental breakfast was horrible. I do not like eating processed food. The instant oatmeal is not what I prefer for breakfast. The hash browns and sausages were super greasy. The eggs didn't taste good either. Instead, we ate an apple and yogurt. The paint was peeling in the room and the carpet pulled away from wall. The sofa was itchy and very uncomfortable. There was inadequate parking which caused us to park on the street. Difficult for us, especially since I am on crutches. I hope that these situations can be addressed for future customers.

Wine valley inn has a wonderful location ad a very friendly staff. The location allows for an easy walk to the town to enjoy good food or shopping. The staff was friendly and very helpful and rooms were very clean and comfortable.

I recommend staying on the second floor, the wood floors cause a lot of noise that filters down to the first floor. It would be nice if the jacuzzi hours were pushed from closing at 9:00PM to 10:00PM.

    The breakfast buffet was excellent

The carpet in our room was stained in several places, and looked and smelled dirty. The queen size bed was not queen sized, just an extra long full size bed. The bed had no headboard, so there was nothing to lean against to watch TV. The mattress was not very comfortable. It seemed like all the street noise just funneled straight up to our third floor room, which is strange, because Solvang is usually so quiet. We were disappointed that there was no jacuzzi. No elevator to our room, which made it hard for my arthritic knees and hips. Though the breakfast was very nice, I don't think we would stay here again.

    Friendly staff, nice location.

The carpets need to be torn out. They were dirty and smelly. Carpets in the lobby and rooms were disgusting. Same with upholstered furniture, I could see stains. Truly gross.

Staff very friendly, accommodating. Beautiful setting, quiet, comfortable beds, great breakfast. We were given adjoining rooms with other family which was perfect. Would definitely stay here again!

We liked how close it was to town and all shops.

WiFi is slow and useless. Our couch was dusty and unattended. Also, central air seemed to work, sort of. Called for extra towels and coffee and never received them. Will probably never stay here again.

    Location was great!!

Room was located next to the ice machine, hence. the noise whenever someone got ice.

Breakfast was basic and filling, comfortable lobby.

Wifi reception was very intermittent on 3rd floor. The only reliable wifi was near the clock tower.

Nice place to be...there was a good hot breakfast and comfortable beds...

The Wireless wasn't good and the main problem is...there are not many places where you can eat in the evening...but that is more a problem from the village and not from the hotel

Beautiful cottage! Will want to stay again sometime... only in a different cottage.

The horrible smell in the bathroom and bedroom. Smelled like red wine vomit... sorry... it was just bad.

From the moment we stepped into the reception area, we were made to feel welcome. Our room in the clock tower was charming, immaculate and comfortable. The staff was hospitable, professional and informative about amenities within the Inn and the village. Our stay was delightful. I'm only sad we couldn't stay longer.

We love the hotel's architecture and it's conveniently located.

Our room was on the 2nd floor. Maybe it's just our luck but we had multiple problems. The Internet did not work and we tried to use it downstairs at the office and it was not working either (and they said it was). It was very difficult to lock your door. You had to twist the handle and jiggle the door to make it close. The sink was approx. 3" deep and approx. 20" from the bed. Every time you turn on the water it splash on you and the bed. The fireplace did not work so is heater and the light switches. We were ready to leave at 6AM. I am really sorry to leave a bad review but we need to let people know.

in-room fireplace, common sitting areas/garden with fireplaces, complimentary hot breakfast, tastefully renovated bathroom, fridge and safe in room

third floor room was a little cramped and oddly configured (as my friend said it felt "like sleeping in someone's attic")
