The grounds are very pretty. The breakfast is decent. After waiting for nearly 2 hours for our room to be ready I asked the clerk if we could be compensated by having a free glass of wine. She gave us a free bottle of wine.
They had rooms ready for people who walked in off the street without reservations but our room wasn't ready until 5pm. Our room overlooked the parking lot. If you have a low car such as a Porsche be very careful going in and out of the rear parking lot!
I like everything about this place, it was our 3th time staying here for the price you get a whole lot I would recommend it to everyone visiting that area.
Nothing I did not like
The hotel is adorable, the location is great the breakfast is great
I was there around Veteran's day, I was told the lady serving the front desk was not the regular front desk person. The lady who was working was rude to myself and several customers. She may have even hung up abruptly with a customer on the phone, while serving another. It would appear that she is not a very nice person and had to try hard to be pleasant. Please don't have her represent your very charming and adorable place. I love the Wine Valley Inn and would think twice about seeing that lady again.
convenient location. Comfortable room with a fireplace. Complimentary breakfast provided.
Good location. Very cute venue and very affordable for the area. I would have like to have some amenities such as a hot tub and rooms were pretty noisy with hearing people outside. But overall a very good stay
Location, and good breakfast. Very friendly front-desk personnel.
Lighting in the room was poor. Two huge ceiling lamps should be taken down in favor of standard lamps. They are hard to read by and over-light the loft when one party wants to go to bed. Lower room furniture of poor quality.
Good location we could walk to everything. The staff was very responsive. The breakfast's were great. The wine & cheese in the evening was very relaxing.
I had made this 4 day reservation several months in advance on the first night we were put into a room that was't much bigger than a walkin closet. I complained the next morning and the G.M. appologized and put us into a room that fit the discription of what we were lead to expect. The restaurant "The Succulant" is not someplace I would ever eat again. So so food at a large price, when there are so many better, less expensive places to eat.
Two flat screen TVs. Beautiful gardens. Loft was nice. Great location. Quiet and peaceful.
Dilapidated furniture downstairs. Stained carpet. Mattress sunk down in the middle. No heat. Breakfast was so so .
The location of the place and the rooms are very nice.
We got to Solvang at 12 PM and wanted to check in early but they said nothing was available, so we came back an hour later they said again nothing was available. Two hours later we asked if anything had changed? They said nothing was available. Then an hour later at 3 PM when there was a line of people waiting to check in, all of the sudden there were lots of rooms available. Is it possible that housekeeping cleaned all the rooms at 2:30 all at once??? Like I said before good place to stay, just don't ask for early check in.
Location. Close to downtown and quiet.
Reservation indicated we were on the "ground floor with a garden and street view." Instead we were on the 3rd floor in what felt like an attic. There were two tiny windows that let in very little light. The elevator only went to the 2nd floor so we were left to carry our luggage up to the 3rd floor which nobody at the front desk mentioned when we checked in.
Staff very helpful, overall good, we had three weeks inUSA, this was by far the best breakfast.
Rooms a little small by American standards, need updating, but adequate for two nights.
Location and parking. Breakfast.
A/C noisy and not efficient. Pillows not the best. No way to darken the room from the outside lights.
Excellent location, good breakfast and friendly staff.
Beds a little soft and free Wi-Fi was almost non-existent.
This place was amazing. Awesome front desk staff really went extra mile for us great fireplace rooms and complimentary breakfast next morning gave a lot of choices we will be back!
Bright, clean, with updated decor. Staff were friendly. This was a wonderful place to stay.
great location and great staff
the ice machine next to our room was loud. they were able to move us to another room though.
We have stayed at the Wine Valley Inn a couple of times on the Village side. Last minute we decided to get away for a few days and ended up on the Chateau side. Very unhappy with the stay. Carpet was dirty and needs replaced, hair floating in toilet, mattress not comfortable, hole/thin sheets, towels thin and small, overall room needs to be updated. When asked how the stay was my husband stated the room needs to be updated. The response was, "Was everything else okay?" We will not be returning.
The look from outside
Room was dingy with stained, frayed carpets and dirty marks round bed valance
We appreciated the amount of space and attention to detail in the room design and decor. It was bothe comfortable and elegant.
Everything about the private cottage was delightful, from the size to the decor to the bathroom and the hot tub. Could't fault a thing. Staff were lovely and friendly.
The Wine Valley Inn is charming and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are neat and clean.
The bathrooms and beds could be better. Especially the shower: The curtain didn't reach to the floor, so water soaked the whole floor when we showered. No shelf space in the shower or the bathroom itself. The bed was just OK.
The set up of the hotel was adorable! Front office staff was great. Very friendly!
Not a whole lot I didn't like.
Location was awesome, walking distance to everthing downtown. I like the old feel and strange architecture of the clocktower building.
Quiet room but this was on the third floor. Excellent hot breakfast and Danish pastries. Walking distance to downtown. Pleasant garden .
I requested a pet free room due to my allergies. No one notified me beforehand that All rooms were pet friendly. I cannot stay in rooms that have dogs. Also, our room had one step across the room between the bathroom and the bed. My husband and I both tripped twice each because there was no way to see it due to the same carpet color. No elevator to third floor.
I have to say that my husband and I were extremely disappointed with the Wine Valley Inn. Our air conditioner wasn't working properly and we reported it to the staff. They gave us instructions on how to set it properly, but it still didn't work. The wi-fi was horrible and we were unable to sign on. The continental breakfast was horrible. I do not like eating processed food. The instant oatmeal is not what I prefer for breakfast. The hash browns and sausages were super greasy. The eggs didn't taste good either. Instead, we ate an apple and yogurt. The paint was peeling in the room and the carpet pulled away from wall. The sofa was itchy and very uncomfortable. There was inadequate parking which caused us to park on the street. Difficult for us, especially since I am on crutches. I hope that these situations can be addressed for future customers.
