Wingate by Wyndham Manhattan Midtown235 West 35th Street, Garment District, NY 10001 New York (Show map) Very good, Score from 450 reviews“Great location as we needed to be near Penn Station. The rooms were more than adequate for downtown NYC. The beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. The breakfast was excellent (and included in our rate)! We arrived at 2:10 pm. Check in was at 3:00 pm. Without even looking, the desk attendant said there were no rooms available. I've never stayed at a hotel where the attendant wouldn't even check. With so little flexibility, I could see this being an annoyance to travelers.

Location is perfect for vacations, shopping and visiting the city, is in the middle of everything, just a few blocks from Penn Station. The hotel has everything for a good stay, included a microwave, refrigerator and coffe and tea maker. Staff was friendly, we arrived very early before check in and they say room was going to be ready even before official check in time. The only negative about the hotel was the noise coming form the air conditioning / heater conduct, inside the room. Even was it was turned off, the noise started by itself and stopped, once and again, all day and night. I did not like it at all. I had to sleep using earplugs.

I asked reception to book a car for myself and daughter to take us to the airport 5 days prior to the required date. She told me it would be done. The day before departure, I happened to check with reception and was told that it had not been booked in. I would have been required to pay a deposit and would have been given a receipt. I immediately paid the deposit and was given a receipt. Upon checkout at 4.30am the next day, the receptionist looked surprised when I mentioned about the car coming at 4.30am. The booking had not been made. Only through luck that there was a car available was I able to get to the airport, but not with time to spare. It is these experiences that do not give you confidence in a hotel, particuarly when you are travelling in another country.

The location was perfect as we walked most everywhere! The fact that a free breakfast was available. Also that we had a microwave and fridge in our room. Internet was also free. These amenities helped save a little bit of $ as New York hotels are quite expensive. The noise as the hotel is in the garment district and deliveries are made through the night - lots of garbage trucks, etc. Do not know if a back room as opposed to the street would be better.

The Hotel is very nice and located in the center of the uptown. Don’t take any service from the hotel, you can get taxi without the hotel help for half the price (also to the airport – Don’t use the hotel service). The hotel is a bit old but is very clean. I got a room at the 18th floor which was huge and has a nice balcony. There is a refrigerator in the room so you can buy food and drink at the supermarket and store them. To the booking.com you need to add TAX which is about 100 $$$ for 3 days so take it into consideration. The metro is 2 mintues from the hotel. They take 5 $ per bag for storing it (In every hotel I have being it's free). You can skip breakfast it’s not worth wasting the time, every day they serving the same food and if you come at 08:30 there is no food left. The dining room is very small so if the hotel is crowed you have no where to eat.

I like the fact that Wingate by Wyndham was in walking distance of many different shops and attractions. The location is ideal for those who rather walk around town. I didn't like that the hotel sold out of the type of room that I wanted, but they made it up by giving me a good discount on the room and providing me with other items I needed to complete my stay.

Very convenient location, large rooms. Comfortable stay. Pleasant helpful staff... People do talk about the noise from garbage trucks in their reviews but didn't find it anything beyond the regular city noises...

It was within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in time is too late (though we were able to check in early); check-out time is too early (we were forced to leave NY earlier than we could have).

It was a very nice clean hotel. The value for your money was excellent. The free complimentary breakfast that was included in the room rate was awesome because you do not get that at other midtown hotels. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Clean, comfortable beds, quiet, great location, breakfast was fair and a nice addition included. Close to Penn Station. Next to Starbucks and local eateries. Very clean and convienant within walking distance to Times Square. If you forgot anything amenities such as a toothbrush and razors was offered for free. I do like the Wingate and would stay there again. Staff had no personality in regards to their restaurant and bar. Breakfast could have used more cereal choices and fruit. Prices seemed excessive for the area not being a official neighborhood like restaurant. Drinks were excessive in price beer 8 bucks a bottle. Thought the size of the bar and that 5 bucks was more a fare price. More like a airport terminal stop. Not enough bar excitement. Was so small then to have spare chairs and a coat rack right in the walk way made it even smaller. Would not eat or drink again in the bistro. I travel Alot and thought the prices were stretched a bit for the street the hotel is on and the lack of personality and seating.

It was clean and the location was good We had 4 people and reserved a room with 2 beds. They overbooked and gave us a room with one king bed and two air beds on the floor for my teenage daughters. We were good sports about it until we called for blankets and pillow for the air beds. They said they were out of pillow. In the middle of New York City, they had no pillows. The girls had to sleep with towels rolled up under their heads. And it took 45 minuted at midnight for us to get two blankets for them. Pretty bad experience.

Location. Bed and bathroom was clean Room was smaller than expected. Carpet needs to be replaced. It makes the room appears cheap and dirtier than it really is. Told breakfast would be available until 10am when we got there at 9:45 everything was gone. Person there would not even give me a piece of bread.
