This is more like a good hostel than a hotel. There is one barroom per floor and 3 showers. If there aren't a lot of other people on the floor, it's not too bad. It's right off market, so close to a lot. It's also in the edge of the tenderloin area, so there are a lot of homeless. The noise wasn't too bad until one night at 3am a car outside pulled up with loud music and got all homeless excited. The staff is friendly, and I didn't try breakfast, I didn't think it was offered. Ok if you are in a budget, need to book late. There are a lot of homeless in SF in general and many of them on market. This hotel is so close to a major street I never felt unsafe. There was a real good cafe to the immediate right (away from market) that was awesome and drew a huge crowd.
Almost everything matched the place description
Only one bad surprise: plastic (or something very close to plastic in terms of breathing) bed linen. You drown in your own sweat minutes after you hit the sack, otherwise the bed was fine. WiFi is up and down.
Location was good, close to Moscone center, SF bay and BART subway station, which takes you to airport.
SF is a generally loud city, but the street where the hotel resides is louder. I think there are pubs around and you can hear very loud music during 2 a.m. at night, which is disturbing.
Great place for the price I paid
Location was good. Easy to travel with bus and bart.
If you're staying long, note that this place does not have fridge and basic kitchen ware. Homeless around the area but it's not too bad
The bus routes were with in walking distance and lots of food options around. Would recommend it to my friends and family.
The bed was hard as a rock and the towels were not so nice
Excellent location in the heart of SF, and although there were some homeless people outside on the street, the location felt very safe. The shared bathrooms very clean, and the personnel nice and helpful.
The bed was not terribly comfortable.
Excellent location, very close to center. Streets are noisy till late night, but mornings are quiet. Shared bathrooms cleaned regularly.
Room was cold, cold floor. Stayed for 4 nights. Room wasn't cleaned or towels changed not even once.
very dirty towels, poor room service and cleaning very dirty guests and smelly toilets
The squeaky bed with plastic mattress protector to keep you up all night, every time you move.
Lots of homeless people outside. The bathroom floor was also sticky and smelt of urine...
Close to main transportation, shops, food and entertainment. Several washers and dryers available at $2 each to use. Lots of maps with coupons provided.Good heater in our room.
On a street that is less secure. There was some renovation being done.Uncertain if older elevator will work for all the floors. There is no lounge for guests.
The location is very central to major business/ tourist spots, and also very convenient from the BART Powell station, about ~5 minute walk. Also i was pleasantly surprised that the rooms are very clean, no bugs/ mosquitos. The shower/toilets are also pretty clean. I had no problem staying there.
There are plenty of homeless people in SF, some of them hang out on 6th street... but I had no problem with them. They didn't loiter in front of the gate during day time.
Came to sf for concerts and room was only a few blocks from the venue, cheap room, and very friendly staff. :)
Horrible location. Cops outside all night and no sleep due to crackheads screaming and fighting. Can't go to or from room without being asked for money or them trying to sell me meth, crack, or heroin or cans of lysol and other random items. No bathroom in hotel rooms.
The staff were efficient
This is located in the worst part of san fran (the tenderloin district). I was scared walking to and from the hotel. The cab driver was surprised that there was even a hotel here. There is no airconditioning and so I had to leave my window open at night which resulted in being woken up by many sirens and noisy locals on the street. If I had realised where this was I would have stayed anywhere else in the city
During my stay I noticed that there where fleas in the beds of the hotel. I can stand the shared showers, the fact that the rooms are very spartan, but I cannot stand the pure lack of hygene the surrounds this place. And to make matters worse: the staff told me a lier and didn't even respond to my complaints. A absolute nightmare to stay here. Never book this!!!!
Very close to Powell St station - handy for getting around/airport Blackout curtains in room Good wifi Good city map available in reception
Nice staff, great location to get around, big room, cheap, you have a basin in your room.
The street is really rough, packed with drug dealers and homeless - they don't bother you but some people might find it scary. It can get VERY noisy at night - most of the time it was OK but on my last night I did not get an hour of sleep.
Comparing the prices is one of the best value for money as we booked 2 mouths in advance,it is close to downtown.I fell we got what we paid for
As mentioned in other reviews, the people hanging around the hotel are a bit rough.Even if we got a quiet room, was still noisy and cleanliness was not the best, but I would still go back as overall I was satisfied
WiFi is fast.
The two single beds were uncomfortable. Unfortunate if you stay in this room with bed bunks. You can barely stand up comfortably. Even if I was backpacking with my bud, wed rather share in a bigger bed than stay in bed bunks. Have to put the other matress on the floor to make it more comfortable.
I loved the price and location. Bed and bedding was very comfortable and staff was super friendly and accommodating. I actually didn't mind using the shared shower/restroom. There was a sink, tv, desk and closet in the room. Also the hotel is in between two amazing breakfast places and close to the downtown shopping area.
The neighborhood gets kind of sketchy at night, but my husband and I just took a cab back instead of walking.
close to transport.
The neighbourhood is a bit scary. A bit noisy.
except the price that was somehow OK but too much expansive for a 2 star hotel there was nothing good in this hotel.
Planty of homless around this hotel. if you walk 2 block west everything is different. i would recommand to take a place at north SF
People are nice，rooms are clean
No air con
The hotel was covered in a black mesh, the street was covered with prostitutues, drug addicts and human fecal matter, the looney bin accross the street housed the scariest most frighetening people I've ever witnessed who leered into the windows if you had the curtain open.... The bathrooms were dirty. I feel like crying just re-living the whole nightmare....
