Comparing the prices is one of the best value for money as we booked 2 mouths in advance,it is close to downtown.I fell we got what we paid for
As mentioned in other reviews, the people hanging around the hotel are a bit rough.Even if we got a quiet room, was still noisy and cleanliness was not the best, but I would still go back as overall I was satisfied
WiFi is fast.
The two single beds were uncomfortable. Unfortunate if you stay in this room with bed bunks. You can barely stand up comfortably. Even if I was backpacking with my bud, wed rather share in a bigger bed than stay in bed bunks. Have to put the other matress on the floor to make it more comfortable.
I loved the price and location. Bed and bedding was very comfortable and staff was super friendly and accommodating. I actually didn't mind using the shared shower/restroom. There was a sink, tv, desk and closet in the room. Also the hotel is in between two amazing breakfast places and close to the downtown shopping area.
The neighborhood gets kind of sketchy at night, but my husband and I just took a cab back instead of walking.
close to transport.
The neighbourhood is a bit scary. A bit noisy.
except the price that was somehow OK but too much expansive for a 2 star hotel there was nothing good in this hotel.
Planty of homless around this hotel. if you walk 2 block west everything is different. i would recommand to take a place at north SF
People are nice，rooms are clean
No air con
The hotel was covered in a black mesh, the street was covered with prostitutues, drug addicts and human fecal matter, the looney bin accross the street housed the scariest most frighetening people I've ever witnessed who leered into the windows if you had the curtain open.... The bathrooms were dirty. I feel like crying just re-living the whole nightmare....
Most of room windows are located under caffeterium vent output so you can forget about fresh air. The room by its size looks like a cell in Alcatraz.
staff was really helpful and friendly facilities were clean once you are inside you are safe
we had a noisy fan direct in front of the room no ceiling fan or AC homeless in front of building DONT make the mistake and go one block too far in the wrong direction, a friend got robbed there
Clean, comfortable place to sleep if you can handle the fact of the homeless people around the hotel, no toilet in the room, and no air conditioning. The hotel itself is fine. It has gate and 24 hr staff
Homeless people screaming from street. Noice of traffic.
The staff is awesome, very friendly, they helped us with everything, told us how is better got to sightseeing etc. The room is small but nice. Bed Clothes and towels was a bit old but quite clean. There are 2 showers and 2 toilets on each floor, but we never had to wait. Everything there is clean. This hotel has 1*, so if do not expect much from it, it`s very good for this price. We only sleep in the hotel. The location is good, 5 minutes by foot and you in the center of city.
Wi-fi works terrible on the 4th floor, especially in the room 401. We could find a signal only very close to the door or in the main corridor. There was a strange smell in the room all the time. Very good hearing in the room. The area around hotel is not very good, because a lot of homeless. They are everywhere, at the beginning I was scared, but the staff told us that they are not dangerous, if don`t talk to them and don`t pay attention to them. If the room has a view to the 6th street, at night it can be noisy.
It smells horrible, it is dirty, there are homeless people, a mother and Her child live in the hotel, you can hear everything from your room I got bumps, it was just scary and disgusting
Despite a scary first impression (from outside), the hotel is surprisingly nice clean and safe place. It is literally 20 meters off Market Street which is always busy and reasonably safe and yes, there are homeless/junkies in the area but frankly speaking they are pretty much everywhere downtown sf. It is a five minute walk along Market Street to the cable car Powel Street turntable or the city's main Visitor Information Center so from a tourist's point of view it can hardly be better situated. We found parking for our car for usd 12 / 24 hours at the corner of Alameda and Henry Adams Streets some 20 minute walk from the hotel (or 10 minutes by public transport). You can park your car right in front of the hotel for check-in/out for up to two hours as there are parking meters.
The noise from the street can be bothersome at night. I solved the problem with earplugs. And my wife really hated the mattress (but I'd seen worse...).
Clean, close to downtown, nice staff.
Street is full of homeless people that is unpleasant, but NOT dangerous. They are harmless.
Rooms were clean, good cable, and decent wifi
No Ground Floor Elevevator
the position of the hotel is very good, staff is good, rooms are good too.
- Staff nice and polite (except one) - Room, shower and toilets clean - Close to downtown, BART and MUNI
- Value for the money (San Francisco effect) - Very basic room - Sketchy neighborhood
The toilets and showers were clean
Very scary location for two girls. I would only recommend this hostel for guys, but it is over priced. Our sheets and towels had stains on them and the bed was uncomfortable.
Very clean...helpful staff...central location 2 blocks to cable car
The neighborhood is a bit seedy but noone bothers you
For this amount of money the hotel was just not as good as i expected.
+ Rooms were clean
- Location is very very bad
The cleanness of the place
Right outside of the hotel is the worst place to be.
