The toilets and showers were clean
Very scary location for two girls. I would only recommend this hostel for guys, but it is over priced. Our sheets and towels had stains on them and the bed was uncomfortable.
Very clean...helpful staff...central location 2 blocks to cable car
The neighborhood is a bit seedy but noone bothers you
For this amount of money the hotel was just not as good as i expected.
The cleanness of the place
Right outside of the hotel is the worst place to be.
Location. Everything is close. Shopping and pubs. Room was clean and spacious.
Location. Bunch of homeless people hanging right in front of hotel. Disturbing. Other than that it's fine
It had a bed and keys
No roof, wifi did not work. Showers were poorly maintained. No where to charge your devices. Better get a nicer place for a little more money
Friendly helpful staff. Great wifi speed and coverage. A tv in the room. Safe environment in the hotel since people are buzzed in manually (24 hour service).
As has been pointed out previously, this is a basic hotel/hostel with shared bath and toilets on each floor. Location is not great due to a high concentration of drug users, (unfortunate) homeless and other unfortunate souls. After the initial chock, we felt safe since the loud people on the street are mostly harmless, even at night.
Price Room and sheets were clean Renovated recently 2 clean showers and toilets on the floor
location (too many beggars) so if you're a woman and/or travelling alone, it can be a bit scary. shower and toilet not in the room couldn't lock the window could hear the noise coming from the street
The staff was helpful in navigating me though the city. I was a first time solo traveler and was not expecting the amount of homelessness in the area. They addressed it and made me feel safe about staying in the area.
The area. A LOT of homeless in the area.
Great prices, good location. Area is a little dodgy, but we never felt unsafe.
Bed was a bit hard, and the lack of a lift from the ground floor to reception was a bit of a struggle.
friendly staff, the hotel is in center of the downtown
at nights homeless occupy nearest streets
excellent location despite there being a salvation army homeless shelter around the corner and many homeless on that particular street. The location is great for public transportation and just walking up and down Market or Mission st.'s.
Television's are old and there MAY BE 10 channels of cloudy stations to watch.
Very clean hotel,staff very good.
The outside of the building looked very sketchy!!!Did not like sharing toilet, showers!!!also they need more power points in the room and mirrors!!!!
Nothing to be honest
Everything was really bad except for the really nice guy that helped us shift our bags after they removed all of our luggage from the room at like 11am coz we were like an hour late
Friendly staff, clean shower
Good price for a secure room in the City. Everything worked, no surprises.
Sometimes the people could be heard on the street, but the locals are tolerable.
The location was good.. very close to market street and union square which allows you to reach anywhere quickly.
At night, the people around the street can be little be scary.
good value for money and good location
They helped us a lot giving us tips to know San Francisco in a few days. They also helped us with directions to get to San Mateo, where we needed to go next.
The location seems a little dangerous, but it is close to the Market st. which is a very nice street with a lot of stores and facilities to get around everywhere.
The bed was comfortable. I never had to wait for the restroom. The location is great. There's a little store right downstairs.
Showers were a bit funky. There is no elevator to the first floor where the desk is. No problem for me but with heavy suitcases it might be.
Affordability, location and facilities were very good. You get what you pay for. The staff were very friendly and made effort to accommodate us. They are also renovating the place so it looks cleaner and neater.
Nothing! Very pleasant.
The staff was excellent, our room was super clean. The shared showers and shared bathrooms were also very clean. The hostel was safe. There was a locked door and someone is on staff 24 hours to open the door. Overall this place was worth every penny. We were very pleased with our stay and it was close to the metro station and bus stops.
The neighborhood is not the best. However, it's not as bad as people made it seem. I live in downtown L.A. and it seemed similar to L.A. you can cross the street and find a better neighborhood. All metropolitan cities have good and not so good neighborhoods.
