Room was cozy and bed was comfortable.
Tv picture was in and out and not all channels were available. And the room was very hot and no thermostat was available.
Entrance hall very grand looking. Free coffee and muffins each morning
WiFi connection was not free and cost per day high.
The junior suite provided the extra room we wanted, and the bed linens were wonderfully soft.
The location was perfect for walking just about anywhere we wanted to and there was a parking garage directly across the street, with a discount for hotel guests
The heating system kept spitting out drops of water. Not sure if that's normal or not.
EVERY THING! Customer service was excellent.
Large twin room which was very clean. Good sized bathroom and comfy bed. The room was spotless.
Reception staff need to smile more. You can hear from the room next door so be careful!!
the location and the cleanliness
some noise outside window
Location was very nice.
I had the room price in cash but they wanted to reserve it from the credit card. So, do not take money in cash with you. Also notice, that the room price is very different from the booking.com estimated price because of the taxes and currency-things (736 € turned to be 1088 €.) Hotel was two days without cold water because of the weather conditions. I also did not like, that I had to pay for wifi for both of us visitors. That is very old-fashioned.
Clean, comfortable, great location and toasty warm in winter
Have to pay for wifi
We spent five nights here and absaloutely loved the hotel! Location wise it was really fantastic and our room was very comfortable and clean. The best points are the ice machine in the lobby, free coffee and muffins in the morning and the computer that will allow you to print your boarding pass complimentary.
We didn't like the fact we booked the direct airport shuttle home from the concierge and yet we stopped at other hotels and a different airport first so I would avoid that and also the pipes froze for two days leaving us with no toilet or shower and we were just told there was nothing they could do for us even though some rooms were not affected.
The price and nice staff and clean rooms. Very pretty lobby and close to subway.
It was during the horribly cold days and the pipes froze so no water in the am no flushing toilets etc. They did reduce the rate and I felt bad for them as our stay would have been better with water in the am. They did have coffee and muffins in the lobby.
Great location, and the staff was very friendly.
No free wifi = no bueno. Also, the pipes froze overnight, so no shower.
The location is the only + about this dump
Extremely rude staff... Almost no security. BED BUGS
It was a decent location with excellent lobby decor.
The room was super small and there were no basics like toothbrush and paste. We actually had to find a store to buy them.
the room with a v comfy bed & good size was clean, and cleaned daily. The location was ideal for the main Avenues. It's affordable but you pay for what you get..... The basics
Concierge were very helpful but the reception staff could do with a lesson in politeness & humour without mumbling which would make them more approachable. No tea or coffee making facilities in room and the little added cost of being charged to use the phone, along with all the individual taxes for each night stayed as opposed to overall bill. The room window had a large gap allowing draft in, this was plugged with foam and every bit of noise could be heard from the street.
Endless muffins and coffee breakfast. Good location. Staff helpful and friendly.
No bar. Strange old heating controls in room and pipes made clunking noises. Very small room, a little cramped, and no coat hooks! Quite noisy from 5th Avenue
It's right by the Empire State Building, the staff are very friendly and they even offer coffee and muffins for breakfast!
Wifi is not included
Front desk attendants were so helpful and very friendly. Hotel was so central. Bread and butter coffee shop/deli a 2 minute walk and you can get free wifi. Complimentary coffee and muffins each morning was lovely. Basic fitness centre was handy to have.
No wifi even in the lobby.
Location, location location!!!!
Bathroom terrible..... the sound of jackhammering when turned the water on in my room and could hear (woke me up) in the room adjacent. Outdated and in need of a makeover,,,BIG TIME!!!
Position was good, close to Penn Station and other subway stations.
Small Elevators. Small bathrooms. A little expensive for age of hotel.
Staff so helpful, approachable and friendly. Great location for uptown and downtown.
Location is good. Also the breakfast muffins are something extra for NY hotels. If you have a room faced to Empire State Building, the view is super.
The hotel needs renovation, the rooms are dated and not very clean anymore. No wifi!!! Should be, it's 2015!!!
Staff was GREAT! Even offered tea of hours, for free.
cleanliness:found old used cigarett on floor, on the 3rd day!!wonder were came from. Business center very expensive and didn't even have colour printing or webcam for Skype!!!
Only a 5 minute walk from the Empire State and close to subway connections to the rest of NY. A quirky hotel in Art Deco style, excellent value for money.
Don't expect the facilities of big chain hotels such as Hilton or Marriott. Water supply was a bit dodgy and bathroom could do with updating.
