Great location, cheap and the morning muffins (for free) and coffee hit the spot. I'd stay here again!
Friendly staff Location was good Room was a good size
Bathroom could be updated a bit more
,amenities, price, location, private bathroom, queen bed
room size small
Really good location. Very helpful staff. Big room and bathroom if I compere with 3 others hotels I have been in the city. New bathroom towels. Every thing clean. Even the hotel is old, the rooms don't smell old. When I booklet the room they only had the double twins bad, I asked them to put the beds toguether and when I got there they did already. Very happy.
Comfy Bed Easy to find Near good locations and subway
late night the street is dark and empty so could be dangerous.
Location!; price; overall upkeep of the building; small but comfortable room (by NYC standards); staff helpful (if not especially friendly). We arrived early in the morning and they gave us an early check-in.
It's an old building; the shower pressure was poor and very hard to adjust the temperature; the bathroom sink was nearly impossible to use since it was crammed into a tiny space and a shelf was placed too close to the sink. But that's the sort of thing I'm willing to put up with to have a good-priced room right in Manhattan.
Hotel is older but very nice just a block away from Empire State Building. Excellent location! Close to subway! We had a great time staying in it. It was clean and they serve complimentary muffins and coffee every morning
The guys at the front desk could be a bit nicer
Very good location, stunning building inside and out, very impressive lobby. Room looked like a MadMen set but very comfortable and clean.
Location, main foyer, easy access to subway and Time square. Staff was helpful. Shower water pressure really good.
Room and hotel overall need it to be updated with new furniture, bed, bed sheets. Lack of desire to updated the hotel is palpable. I guess is a cultural thing.
great lobby, good location, good service, cozy
noisy air conditioner at night, uncomfortable washbasin
We were a party of 3 friends, Loved the room. It had 3 single beds, so no one had to share a bed. The room was clean. The lobby had character.
There wasn't anything that I didn't like. I would stay here again.
Location, location, location! Just off the hustle & bustle of Times Square but close enough to walk to. Hotel lobby was very Baroque in style reminding one of the heyday of the 20's. The room was basic but clean and beds comfortable. Asked for fridge and they brought one. Breakfast was tea/coffee and fresh muffins. Lobby furnished with comfortable armchairs with small end tables for eating and visiting with other guests. Good price for the location. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to my friends.
Wifi was not free. This is problem for non-US visitors as its not easy to get short-term phone / data plans inexpensively or easily.
Free coffee and muffins for breakfast. Location.
Near Times Square.
Room bit dark.
Location, Free Tea/Coffee & Muffins in the Morning
Could do with a little TLC, I think it's about time they gave visitors free WiFi.
a bit old
The hotel was surprisingly quiet given its location
The hotel is shabby and way oversold on the photos. Concierge was of no help whatsoever. The Internet charge is per device and very steep. Location is swamped with tourists and quite distant from the real New York.
Baroque lobby Perfect location Friendly, helpful staff Budget rooms Crazy carpet designs
Location Good Option for Breakfast Clean and comfortable Staff
There´s nothing I didn´t like. This is the third time I stayed at this hotel.
First I was a little shocked it was very old looking, for the price you pay, being told you had to pay $ 10 dollars for wifi a day is annoying. I got money taken out of my account without any explanation why as I paid everything out front! I am lucky I checked my bank account! Rooms were small and just didn't feel homely
Wi-fi could be free
Location and fairly calm
Poorly ventilated The breakfast is not good: bad coffee and bad muffins
Very good located in downtown; very nice old building
Beds are not very comfortable
Great location (2 blocks from the Empire State Building), friendly and helpful staff, and the room was clean - and no bedbugs (I check). They have a breakfast/coffee bar in the morning that was very nice. The hotel uses an older building, but that is part of its charm (it has personality vs. a chain hotel). I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
