Ideally located in Times Square, this Manhattan hotel has a 24-hour front desk. Edison Hotel - Triumph Group is just an 8-minute walk from Rockefeller Center and a 10-minute walk from Bryant Park.
Score from 1306 reviews Good
This Midtown Manhattan boutique hotel is north of Madison Square Park in the NoMad neighborhood. Residential-inspired rooms offer Art Nouveau style and free Wi-Fi.
Score from 1040 reviews Very good
I booked half a year in advance, and prepayed the full amount. 15 minutes after booking I realized that the reservation was non-refundable, and contacted Booking.com hotel immediately to cancel the reservation. The hotel, refering to the terms of the booking, refused to accept the request. In my opinion this is petty and poor customer treatment.
I love the environment, old but intimate, elaborate lobby. I enjoy the diverse cultures of fellow guests, and mingling with them over free continental breakfast. Convenient location, great value
The concierge service has gone downhill from previous visits... Less friendly & less helpful. Basically just hand out maps & brochures. Very little knowledge of cultural, entertainement opportunities.
Great coffee, not the watered down stuff so many other places serve and with real half and half - not that nasty powdered stuff. Complimentary and with nice muffins , thank you Hotel Wolcott
Consierge could have been more knowledgable
my French gold MasterCard was refused. I had to pay cash upfront. It did not work with their ATM either, I had to go outside to find one that would work. AC and hotel in general was very noisy.
The staff here was very pleasant and helpful. I needed a new lightbulb for a lamp in my room. The front desk and maintenance took care of that quickly and had a warm and welcoming attitude. The room was very comfortable and accommodating. I would stay here again anytime.
I loved the building, the staff and room. I felt as if I was in an old movie pampered with elegance and pleasant service. Comfort coupled with old time workmanship made for a wonderful stay. I had just spent three weeks walking all over Taiwan ; I was so tired when I arrived at Wolcott. A hot bath later, I was so relaxed and happy.
The staff and location
No wifi at least free
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms uniquely laid out and lovely.
Walls are a bit thin.
The room was spacious and very clean, and very warm given the severe cold outside. The hotel has a faded grandeur and was ideally located, right in the centre of Manhattan. Many sights are really within walking distance. And the surprise was the free coffee and muffins in the mornings. Also the late 12.30 check out was great because you could do something in the am and then come back to quickly freshen up before having the rest of the afternoon to yourself and then fly out in the evening.
Very clean Ideal location a block or two from the subway
Staff seemed a little clueless at first but figured it out
Not too expensive (for New York anyway) and decent clean room in a good location
Wifi was poor and expensive, rooms aren't what you'd call aesthetically pleasing, if that sort of thing bothers you
Fantastic location, friendly staff, free room upgrade, coffee / tea / muffins in the morning, beautiful and ornate lobby
Surprised by WIFI charge (feels outdated), cleanliness could be better, a little warm at night (heater ran non stop)
Room was cozy and bed was comfortable.
Tv picture was in and out and not all channels were available. And the room was very hot and no thermostat was available.
The room was nice and so was the location
I called ahead of time to ask about the price of parking before I book the trip. They told me 30 dollars it was 40. It's not about the money, it's about being mislead. The next morning when checking out the man behind the counter wasn't nice to us at all. I asked a question and he look at me like why should I help you. Just give me your stuff so I can check you out.
The hotel was near everything at a walking distance from Broadway shows and the Metropolitan Opera, just between the famous streets 5th Avenue and Broadway, only three streets from the Empire State Building. The rooms were clean and nice.
Entrance hall very grand looking. Free coffee and muffins each morning
This hotel is situated in a perfect location for all the sights. We took walks up to Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum and south all the way to the financial district. It's not a luxury hotel, but clean and comfortable, and with a really interesting history. Warmly recommended!
It was a little bit noisy outside at times, but then that's to be expected in such a central spot.
WiFi connection was not free and cost per day high.
The junior suite provided the extra room we wanted, and the bed linens were wonderfully soft.
The location was perfect for walking just about anywhere we wanted to and there was a parking garage directly across the street, with a discount for hotel guests
The heating system kept spitting out drops of water. Not sure if that's normal or not.
EVERY THING! Customer service was excellent.
Large twin room which was very clean. Good sized bathroom and comfy bed. The room was spotless.
Reception staff need to smile more. You can hear from the room next door so be careful!!
the location and the cleanliness
some noise outside window
Location was very nice.
I had the room price in cash but they wanted to reserve it from the credit card. So, do not take money in cash with you. Also notice, that the room price is very different from the booking.com estimated price because of the taxes and currency-things (736 € turned to be 1088 €.) Hotel was two days without cold water because of the weather conditions. I also did not like, that I had to pay for wifi for both of us visitors. That is very old-fashioned.
