The location- Walking distance to town!
The parking. The rooms. The bed- had a room with 2 beds with old bedspreads & blankets & the pillows were not firm. One bed did not even have a mattress cover.
Nice Clean Very good wifi signal Very good price Friendly receptionist
No hairdryer No new coffee or cups after cleaning Queen size bed a little small
Reasonably priced, comfortable, included refrigerator.
Parking lot, skimpy on the towels, rip in bed sheets, problems with the TV, difficult to log onto WiFi.
The owners have an excellent Greek restaurant next door, including delicious mezze and some very good Greek wines.
Few amenities: no kleenex, only one waste basket.
The proprietors--very roundly and knowledgable. Location was good, close enough to downtown to walk. Facilities--comfortable beds, enough hot water and working air conditioning, albeit from an old unit that was a little noisy. Good restaurant in connection, if one likes Greek fare (and I do!). Met a couple of nice folks and their dogs; I seem to prefer places where dogs are welcome--a friendly vibe is usually to be found.
WiFi was very weak, could not use tablet computer with it (can't leave home without these things, I guess)...and a couple of the electrical outlets needed checking-seemed to be dead or loose inside.
room was clean - staff was very accomodating -
room could have been cleaned better - under the sofa cushions, needed keeenix
The location was good.
It wasn't the cleanest place. The pillows were old & nasty. Need to update the tv. Needs a fridge & maybe a microwave.
The office is in a house! I walked into the office to check in, and no one was at the desk so I proceeded through the door that was open. I was met by a young lady yelling at me "this is a private residence you can't come in here!!" Maybe they should put up a sign or shut the door instead of yelling at a paying customer!
There was no wifi, which I was told there was. There is NO ICE MACHINE! I had to go to the restaurant next door to get ice!! What a joke. Parking is very limited too.
The location was perfect to be able to walk into town and enjoy the village,
Where do I start? The tiolet did not flush properly, heat/AC was on at the same time and LOUD. No ice machine, we had to ask for more TP. Very dark & dingy. I would have been more comfy in a tent.
- friendly reception - near main street, shops and restaurants - nice shower
- no shades - no tissues - no tea - no radio - door stuck and required a shoulder push - frayed blanket binding - hot water handle missing indicator (another sign of lack of care; water worked fine) - room shook as people walked the wood deck outside - underneath bed was dirty - made me wonder how clean the rest of the room was - parking is tight
It's a nice log cabin looking hotel, nice price, close to everything. It has all the basics that u need which was fine for us, we don't need a lot.
You could hear some outside noise but nothing to bad that I wouldn't book it again.
The location is amazing.
The cleanliness was horrendous. Even though the toilet bowl was wrapped , indicating it had been cleaned, there was excrement left on the seat. We stayed 2 nights and after our room was cleaned, it smelled like smoke. We were wondering what it was and found a cigarette butt on the floor in our room. The double lock was also broken and the chair seats where stained. We don't need a lot of luxury but basic cleanliness would be great.
The scenery was nice
Could not get ice and had to go to a restaurant to obtain said item.no staff in the office after 8pm :(
Always accommodate late check-ins.
Very reasonable room price for the Lake Placid area. Prepaid check-in was quick and easy. Room was clean, newly-painted, had basic but adequate amenities (coffeemaker, shampoo, no hair dryer). For the reasonably fit traveler, this location is within easy walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and Olympic center. Catholic Church is a short walk away. Owner-operator couple is friendly and try to maintain a small facility that can appeal to the budget traveler not desiring a larger hotel experience.
Decent location within the Village for the price; Exterior nicely redo fairly recently.
Furniture very dated;
The room was comfortable and suited our needs very well. Staff greeted us very nicely and offered helpful local restaurant suggestions. All in all, it was a relatively comfortable stay.
The shower panneling was not properly installed making it easy for water to seep behind it. There was an occasional sewage odor in the bathroom. Despite having a tinge of bloodstain on the sheets from our first night, the sheets were not changed the next day when the bed was made. These are merely suggested areas for improvement and are not meant to be critical as our stay, overall, was pleasant and relatively comfortable.
Close to town
No attention to detail. Forgot to replace coffee Never changed sheets (4 days) No internet service Forgot to replace toilet paper 1 day Very noisy when people are actually there
Only 1 trash basket, no facial tissue, very small tv, no microwave.
Proximity to the downtown area.
You can hear everything going on in the neighboring rooms..... especially the rooms above.
Very convenient to shops and restaurants; Reminded me of places I stayed when I was in college, no frills, but clean Beds basic, but comfortable Fridge in room
Office for check-in smelled like cigarettes. Lighting in room poor, not enough to read a book. I was on first floor, and ceiling sqeaked everytime someone above walked. Thin curtains didn't block light. Needs renovation: bathroom drop ceiling very water stained, bathroom tile floor coming apart
check in was painlesss, room was clean, location was perfect to walk to and from the Olympic center Greek Restaurant next door was very good. German beer across the street
- Affordable - Clean - Shower with great hot water, generally stay here when ice climbing around Lake Placid
Room was missing a garbage bin
Very weak WiFi in the hotel.
Location was great - you could walk to main street and shop, eat and drink!!!! Catholic church was 4 buildings away.
Misrepresentation of "QUEEN" size bed! Was charged for a queen but, I have a queen that I sleep on every night and this was definitely not a queen. I looked at the tag on the sheet and it also said double. I don't like being told one thing and having it turn out to be another and also being charged for the wrong thing. But I did go back and look online and there were no rooms listed with just a double - I would suggest that if this motel wants positive responses that they should list what they are offering - double beds!
