Westin Michigan Avenue  

I loved the location for the price. We were steps away from great food and shopping. The parking valet was courteous and prompt. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure, even with the conservation effort and use of one shower head vs. two. I would return without question.

We had a beautiful view of Lake Michigan and Lakeshore Drive. It was a pleasure waking up each morning and looking out over Lake Michigan. We had room serve for breakfast each morning and we were able to place our dining table in front of the window and enjoy the view. We were also centrally located to all the shops and restaurants. We arrived earlier than planned and the Westin let us check our baggage so we could begin to enjoy our day before our room was ready. Also the Westin called us on our cell phone to let us know when our room was available. I stayed at the Westin a few years ago attending a business conference and remembered the excellent service, so when this leisure trip came up the Westin was my first choice. They did not disappoint!

No free wireless connection in the rooms.

I liked the beds in the rooms and the proximity to Michigan Avenue.

I didn't like the fact that I had to wait 20 minutes in line to check in and check out. Also, we were told that our room would be ready by 3pm at the latest and we did not get a phone call saying it was ready until 5pm. Trying to get through on the phone was also a hassle.

Location. Great price, considering it was a holiday weekend.

The hotel is in a great location just across the street from the John Hancock building.

Wall were paper thin and we could hear 2 kids coversations with their parents came from the next door. The bathroom was dirty. I found few pieces of hair in the bathtub.

I had to ask for someone to provide clean towels and clean up the bathroom on my second day at 4 pm.

Location, service & room

The location of the Westin Michigan Avenue is really the selling point. It's right next to the John Hancock building and the Water Tower. There is fantastic shopping and ocean views from some of the bedrooms. The hotel staff is nice and courteous, and the rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and nice linens.

Water pressure in shower wasn't great.
