Our king sized room with a view was lovely. Got up early each morning & just loved the Danish & coffee before I headed off for a walk on the Lake shore. I was alone for the first night & felt perfectly safe. Ate in the restaurant & it was excellent.
Went to Concierge for information re tickets she directed us to the Tourist Office however the ticket office was closed . While we were disappointed to miss a show we had one of the best meals ever in Chicago Cut. So that made up for it.!!
Perfect location for what we were doing. Shopping was close and the area was great The staff was very helpful and courteous
We did use the spa on our last morning. While the massages were superb!, this location is not really a spa. It is a very small room with 2 massage rooms. It would be better if you advertised it as it really is. It is not a spa experience!
The maintenance man that came to try to open the window and then brought us the fan was very helpful. The location of the hotel is a plus- but beware, it's all u r paying for!
For the price of this hotel, it was very poor. The room was the smallest I've ever stayed in. The temperature control on the hearing/air did not work and we ended up boiling most of the weekend until maintenance brought us a fan (which we had to find a place for in our tiny room). There was a big stain on the easy chair in the room. I have been to several westins and stay there because the beds are so comfortable, that was not the traditional westin bed in this room. It was very hard. The shower was not cleaned prior to our arrival, as evidenced by the used shampoo bottles still in the soap dish. Very disappointed! For a hotel we are paying $300 per night for, very much below our expectations!
All the facilities
Location and staff
Weather it rained all the time
The difference between the two properties was startling. The staff, the food, room size and amenities all lacked. I would never stay at the property again, but rather stay at the other Westin and travel a few more min.
The location of the hotel could not have been better if shopping was important.
No swimming pool.
The location is unbeatable with great shopping and restaurants all within walking distance.
The property has heavy traffic and is showing signs of that aspect. Our room was clean but didn't feel new or newer.
Hotel staff housekeeping knocks on your earlier for housekeeping 8am on a Saturday.
Hotel staff is nice and willing to resolve issues.
The suite was in 4th floor and cannot see the street. When I call the hotel, they told me that it is 16th floor through booking.com, but when we arrived, their record is different from the one I booked using booking.com. It took us a long time to complete the check-in. Also, it is not good to live here with kids, there is even no swimming pool for kids to play. Disappointed with this hotel.
It's a nice, higher-end hotel. Nothing unique.
Yes, it is my own fault for not reading the fine print. But it is the first hotel I've patronized in over ten years that charged the full rate+tax when we canceled the first of our two nights there, despite being assured by the reception clerk that the cancellation was not a problem. There are other hotels on Michigan Ave; we look forward to trying one of them in the future. And we will doublecheck the fine print.
When we arrived they had out reservation but said they were sold out of rooms. So after about 30 minutes they did finally get ous rooms but not rooms we paid for
I like the Starbucks in the lobby and the location was excellent!!
Didn't like that I had to keep asking the housekeeper for towels everyday
Location and staff were the best part. I am a big Starwood and Westin fan so maybe the bar was slightly lower. It is a bigger hotel so not intimate if that is what you want but for Chicago tourism in a well run hotel, it is perfect.
I couldn't stay longer.
View of Michigan Ave from our window & the friendly, eager to please staff.
The $68 parking fee! With tips this is too much.
The location cannot be beat! Located steps away from the John Hancock center. Directly on Michigan Avenue and the middle of all the great shopping. Price was right.
Rooms were small but nice.
Lake view room worth paying extra for
No swimming pool
location was amazing
we got a good deal but if I had to pay standard rate for what we got, it would have been far too expensive
Decent location, friendly staff during check in procedure
enormous rate for a room overlooking a dumpy roof the upcharge of wireless after excessive room rate room not ready til 430pm when check in was 3pm
Loved the size of the rooms. Bathroom was excellent. Location was perfect for exploring Chicago.
Staff not very friendly. Website boasts city views. This is not true in every room. Back of hotel looks into other buildings. 18th floor or above does see the beach. Food and drink expensive in hotel.
Location, I have written this down before but did not see where it was recorded so I will do it again
1.Alarm clock not working.2 Not clean under the bed 3. I had to get under the bed to plug in lamps .. 4 no shampoo 5. This could have been a real issue, the toliet leaked @ the bottom and someone could have been badly injured, did tell people and they said they were sorry and that was about it ....not good customer service in my opinion....
Location next to Hancock Building was a plus as it was so easy to tell how far away your hotel was...just look up!
Wi-fi not available in rooms without charge...in this day and age!!
