Staff, location, cleanliness. Front desk, room cleaning, and maintenance: in 30 years of travels around the world, they are in my top 10 list.
We arrived after 7pm and room was not ready. Could not turn heat in room off. Did not appreciate the solicitation phone call from Wyndham time share.
Location of hotel and size of room
Staff were rude. Booking was incorrect, could have got much better deals for what they landed us with for the first night, luckily they did amend it for the remaining nights. Room was old. No tea/ coffee in room. No breakfast. Staff trying to sell you property/investment. Small for price. The viewing room on the top floor was dirty, no facilities for tea/coffee, messy and small.
Location was good
Great location, comfortable room - spacious for NYC! - great price.
Decor was very tired/grubby, furniture quite uncomfortable and the room smelt of stale smoke -- but the hotel was being refurbished and my room had not yet been redone, so I hope for better on my next trip. (I will try this hotel again.)
Very convenient location (between United Nations and Grand Central) and good self-catering facilities.
Staff was a bit lazy, and room wasn't as clean as I would have preferred.
Great location ,good facilities, apartment like setting was perfect for travelling with my toddler
Check in took almost half an hour, the noise in the room was unbearable due to some undetectable machinery running 24/7, the staff is disorganized - you don't wonder when tou see the manager.
Room showed worn. Cabinets needed updates.
Size of unit, compared to other New York units
Small rooms, dirty
Unserviced room even after several calls.
Good and cheerful staff, especially Maria
No hand-soap or glass in my room on arrival Desk was a poor and flimsy Very strange elevator system causing long waits.
Location close to the UN Clean room
Couldn't change the in room temp. Windows wouldn't open and it was hot. Hard to get at the shower controls. TV in living area only faces the dining table, not on the rather well used plastic sectional couch.
Kitchen was very nice and well equipped! Better than expected. Location was great! Next door was the Perfect Pint, perfect for lunch or a nightcap. Flat screen TV was new. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Dishwasher was broken. They told us someone would wash our dishes since they couldn 't fix it, but we had to ask two more times before that happened. By then the dirty dishes in the dishwasher started to smell. Also, our fridge was barely keeping our food cold, so some of our food went bad. They did send up a small cube fridge. It was ridiculous that they told us "some of the units are being refurbished." Why would you give someone a room where neither the dishwasher or refrigerator worked? One of the reasons we picked this room was for the kitchen. They offered free coffee and tea in the lobby but I swear half the time when we were leaving it was empty or being refilled. Couch too low and not really comfortable, weird cabinets that weren't that functional, couldn't see the TV from the couch because of the cabinet doors. Odd.
Staff very friendly and tried to be accommodating. Bathroom very nice. Room was good sized. Owner's lounge with views was a nice touch which the kids especially enjoyed. We didn't spend much time in the room but it was a good home base, with several groceries/delis on the block for convenience.
not knowing the timeshare/owner/resort thing
the thermostat in the room does not work right. It either overshoot to be too hot or it does not heat up to be too cold during the middle of the night.
friendly staff, good location
Staff was accomodating helpful respectful and extreme courteous
- there was no spa although it said in the site - the hotel was in renovation! - the restaurant was closed! - the 24hr gym was closed because of a heating problem - the room was small, furnishment old, not even glasses for a drink
The staff was friendly
The visit was very smooth , quick & everyone was very friendly & helpful ... The location on the Wayndham was perfect for me . The room is kids friendly ... My kids enjoyed the stay also .
Renovations slow elevators
Expensive. I know this is Manhattan so that is expected but there are some comparable hotels in the vicinity that can be booked for a bit less.
Clean and comfortable. Great bathroom and bathtub. Very quiet. Staff very professional. Convenient location.
The Booking.com website tells you “Free Wi-Fi,” -- only to discover that refers to a tediously-slow Internet, and that you must pay $15 per day for a decent connection.
Amenities were excellent: brand-new kitchen and bath, (even though furniture, shelves and drawers were clearly ancient); free laundry with brand-new machines; beautiful penthouse-level lounge; books to borrow; courteous staff eager to help.
