The owner was marvelous. The restaurant was marvelous. It was marvelous darling. Just marvelous
I didn't like that I couldn't find anything that I didn't like.
Location. About 15 minutes from mountain. Right in heart of the downtown area. Walking to food and amenities was possible.
Cold room approx 67 degrees. Never got any warmer even after requesting. The shower was either burning hot or cold. But the hot was still greatly apprecaited. For the $130+ we spent on the one night it wasn't worth it. If the room was actually warm I would go back. I don't need 75 degrees but at least 71-72.
Classic old school ski lodge. Nicely kept. Comfy rooms.
Chris the owner was at the front desk for most the weekend that we were there. He was very pleasant and accomodating. Overall it was good value for the money.
Atmosphere was excellent, owner always present, great bar!!!!
Old rooms need upgrading
staff was awesome
your at a ski resort, hot tub needs to be open in winter!!!!!
room smelled like deodorant and had no chair that you could relax in
Willingness of staff and owner to fix issue with room.
Called front desk on Wed 8pm to book but nobody was available. Booked online and called Thu morning to ensure room we booked had regular bed, not have bunk beds. Front desk unable to answer question. Sure enough, we arrived Fri night and room was closet size with bunk beds, at lower cost than booking price. Got upgraded for 2nd night but charges were not reduced for 1st night. Staff was friendly but Inn is very dated.
The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They were able to give us valuable information regarding where to eat and what to go and see. Loved how close it was to Stowe Mountain, great value for its location!!! Beautiful Inne
Room was a little colder than we liked but they did supply extra blankets
The bar was English themed and had a very large variety of draft and bottled beers and the staff was very welcoming and helpful.
Dinner menu was expensive so we went across the street instead
Clean, charming, some nice appointments
Atmosphere, music, food was great
The owner was very engaging and friendly.
The layout of the suite was poor, with the bedroom backing up to another suite's living room. There is very little sound proofing between the rooms, there while in the bedroom it felt like other people were in the room with you. Not very romantic!!
Excellent service in comfortable surroundings. Staff particularly friendly and helpful. Owner on the premises and could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Good gastropub.
Lovely bar - jusst like an English pub. Very friendly host, Chris and nice staff. Superb jacozzi bath in our room.
everything was good
We had a lovely stay at Ye Olde English Inne in Stowe. Very comfortable, wonderful pub and a really interesting English-inflected menu in the restaurant. And the owner, Chris Francis, could not have been more welcoming or a better source of information. We hope to return soon.
We'd prefer a location in town, but this wasn't a major issue as it is only a 10-minute walk away.
The food was excellent.
The room had an odd layout. It was difficult to view the tv from the bed. The furnishing were good but the building looks a little tired andcould use some maintenance.
There were crumbs all over the floor in the breakfast room- unappetizing.
Friendly innkeeper and staff, nice atmosphere, "quaint" building, nice relaxing lobby area to sit in. Only a short walk into the town of Stowe, even shorter walk across the road to a good breakfast spot or couple of casual restaurants.
The upsatirs hallways are a bit narrow and the washroom was quite small, but both of these are understandable with an older inn comparing them to modern standards. The window air conditioner was noisy and hadn't been sealed fully.
Friendly staff. Had a big room with a whirl pool
King sized bed was not king sized hard to sleep with baby. Very dated
Location was excellent easy walking distance to "downtown" Stowe
Where do I begin? It started when we checked-in and the owner tried to charge us $75 more than our booking.com rate. He finally agreed to the rate we booked at but he made it clear he wasn't happy about it. The "executive suite" was large but tired. Stains on carpet and brown water filled the spa tub when we tried to use it. (The outdoor hot tub was closed and looked like it had not been used for a while. When we arrived back after dinner we had a drink in the bar and then had to make our way back to our room (outside) in the dark. There were lights but it looks like the owner didn't bother to turn them on. It was OK for a night at the rate we paid but I would not stay there again.
