It was sort of close to my destination.
It was dirty, smelled a bit off, and the staff was mostly unfriendly and unhelpful. I was told that the "Yoga Hostel" didn't exist, and was even laughed at by the employees working on the ground level, until a sympathetic student (again, this is actually an liu Dorm) corrected them and explained that the "Yoga Hostel" was a pet name for the 10th floor's hostel program. Wifi was largely uncooperative as were the students who were running the hostel--providing me with one of the more impersonal interactions I had while I was in NYC, which is really saying something. I could say more, but I mostly just feel bad for the students who, undoubtedly, pay through the nose to call this hellhole a home nine months a year. Luckily, I had enough to do in Brooklyn so that I spent a minimal amount of time in the hostel itself. I would not recommend, unless you're an aspiring writer looking to do research for a novel on the depths of human indifference.
