Would have liked to stay longer.
no wifi in your room, only in the restaurant.
We stayed in the barn studio. This is not a review of the rest of the dorm rooms or private rooms. Our barn studio had a parking right by the building and our own kitchen, heating, bathroom. It was like our own house, so everything was great. The location is only a 45 min drive to Yosemite. We had our own wifi and it was really fast. We will probably stay here again next time we visit.
-We saw some other cabins on this property that are high up on the hills, might be a long drag if you need to carry big luggage. -The TV in our cabin looks like it's from 1995 and the remote didn't work. -Five day cancellation policy. We found out days before our trip the "Pineapple Express" snow storm was coming. Already too late to cancel. We lucked out since we got there on the only sunny day of the week. You might not be as lucky.
location and staff awesome.
dorm room walls are not sound proof you can hear every word.
Really friendly and suprr helpful staff. They were able to give me a bag of rice at 10.30pm for my drowned phone.
Great spot at doorstep to national park. Has a freakin awesome hot tub people!!!! Great to go lunch packs if hiking.
Hard to find room location in dark at check-in
The house is very nice and complete of everything you need. Also WiFi for free, towels, air dryer and everything in the kitchen. We stayed only one night and we definitely enjoyed. Perfect position for combine mariposa grove and Yosemite valley. Group of friends.
Nothing to be mentioned.
The location is pretty good. It takes about an hour to get to Yosemite Valley by car, but you can easily spend enough time in the park to justify the ride there. Staff was friendly. The tent cabin I booked was amazing. Great bed (though the sheets could have been cleaner) and plenty of space.
One minor thing was that the blankets provided in my tent had some old stains on them and probably could've been washed better, but that's it.
Friendly staff, beautiful location close to Yosemite
Everything. The beds where extremely comfortable. We booked a quadruple room. It was so beautifully decorated. We got in late, and it was dark, so had a lovely surprise in the morning when we opened the door to a beautiful mountain location. If we drove straight to Yosemite Village it would take about an hour, but of course it took longer because we stopped off at all the great scenic spots. We had breakfast which we thought was very reasonably priced and delicious, great coffee too. If you want something close to Yosemite this place is your best bet. If your considering it, just go ahead and book it!
That we didn't stay longer.
Nice café to hang out in. Comfy dorm beds.
5-10 minute walk to YARTS bus stop.
Price is reasonable. The cafe is good. Dormitory is available with standard facility. Overall, this hotel is a good option for backpacker who travel alone.
-In terms of public transport, the location is away from bus stop and up on the hill. I was dead tired dragging my big luggage to the hotel. -You have 2 options for shower, freezing and boiling hot, temperature couldn't be adjusted.
My kids didn't like that there was no TV however there is free wifi. I wished there were more options at the restaurant. I missed my white mocha and my husband missed his Pepsi.
The lodge is brilliant, the staff fantastic and the food perfect at the end of a long day.
Faultless for what it is.
The location of this place was great for exploring Yosemite. The kitchen, cafe and spa were all great. Staff were very helpful. Room was nice and beds were comfy.
Didn't like the toilets and showers being male and female shared. Made me very uncomfortable. They were also not very clean. Nowhere to park if back past 5pm, well unless you park right at the top of the hill, which is a bit of a hike. The whole time we were there, there was a songwriting convention on and it was happening in the building below our room so we were kept up every night past 12pm and woken up early. It was not much fun. If that was not on I am sure it would have been a much better experience.
Choice of experience (hostel room, cabin to yourself, shared bathroom) Friendly people Comfortable bed Great price As close to the park as you could hope for!
Navigating the dark paths/roads; it's a bit tight!
Originally we booked a tent, but since it is not insulated and it was rather cold in the mornings we upgraded ourselves to a cabin with a shared bathroom. It was perfect! Very comfortable bed and everything was tidied and cleaned each day. We had Deers walking around our cabin one morning. What a way to wake up! And, I have to mention, that the food that was served in their restaurant was excellent. The dinner menu changes each day, and they put a lot of effort into serving original, healthy food. The breakfast menu does not change but it is very good, especially the American breakfast. They even make a bag lunch for you that is great value for money.when I return to Yosemite I would definitely stay there again.
The drive into Yosemite and return trip is a bit Long but actually it's not a bad drive at all. When we were planning our trip Friends had recommended that we stay in Oakhurst which is actually closer to the park entrance in the south. We are glad we opted To stay in Midpines because We were actually staying in a rustic mountain setting has opposed to being in a motel along the road as would have been the case in Oakhurst. Also, the entrance to Yosemite at that pointlead you right into that Yosemite Valley where most of the good hikes are located. The south entrance of Yosemite close to Oakhurst only brings you in where the sequoias are so then you have the long drive north in the park to get to the valley which actually makes it a longer trip. Therefore, even though Oakhurst and Fish Camp seen closer to Yosemite, they are not.
Great value stay. Comfortable beds in a tent/shed. Very good food at the cafe.
Atmosphere Location Onsite restaurant
No heating in showers
Great food, incredible location.
Cafeteria menu is delicious.
Wifi is only in customers kitchen and cafeteria. If you arrive after sunset it will be dificult find the room, some rooms are in the middle of the trees and its no easy find them because there is no lights on the way. Take a flashlight with you.
The food in the cafe The charm of the tent cabins
the staff were really helpful and friendly and the dorm was really clean and comfortable for such a low price. it's a steal!
We stayed at one of the huts in a very nice queen room. The room was beautiful, not too small, with a comfy bed and nice shower. The site's coffee-house serves great dinner & breakfast at fair prices, and also offers trail-launches which seem nice (didn't try them though). The price is excellent (comparing to the other costly options in the area), and only ~30-40 minutes to Yosemite's main entrance. All in all, a great option.
No cell reception anywhere on the site, and WiFi is available only in the coffee-house and office-area (with poor reception, but at least for free), not in the rooms. The curtains in the cabins are almost totally opaque and without them the inside of the room is very exposed (everything is ~ground floor), so had to sleep with the curtains closed.
The food was amazing!!!
