Proximity to trails.
Heating inefficient. Dirty. Not many amneties.
Lodge was convenient for seeing the sights.
Food court service was slow and the food overpriced. they needed more help at busy times. By the time you get to eat the food was cold.
1) atmostphere of hotel and room 2) food & reasonable price 3) free shuttle bus tour around 4) cleaness of place
I have to seriously aware for no leaving any food event drinks or just a bottle of water inside my care. heater in my room is not work well room is a little bit small
Location was excellent. Shuttle bus stop located close by. Good range of eating options. Travelling with 2 teenage boys and room was good size. Views from car park spectacular!!
Beds were a little small and pillows a bit uncomfortable. Need to take care when driving as there are many one way roads and you may end up doing the full loop to get from one spot to another - ok in winter as there was little traffic but could be chaotic in summer
The location of Yosemite Lodge is excellent. Even if there's a need to move around, there's a shuttle bus that stops there. The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. The TV channels there were enough to get us by (who would've thought we would even get channels in the middle of a National Park) Overall an affordable and comfortable place to stay at.
Wifi was pretty weak but we were happy enough that there at least was wifi
I really liked our particular unit because it faced the forest. I liked the refurbished bathroom. I liked it all. Oh, and Melinda at the listed phone number was so sweet and helpful. She should get a raise!
The only downside was a particular cook in the cafeteria style restaurant. He could have been a little more friendly.
Didn't like the gentleman who helped us with check-in. He can't wait to be done with us. We asked about things we can do the next day and was told to check with tour services counter the following morning. We didn't feel welcomed at.all.
Stunning scenery, good location. Friendly staff.
Food prices in Yosemite food court (cheapest eating option) too expensive. Mice in room (though at least it wasn't raccoons!) but they seemed pretty friendly. If you're an Aussie accustomed to pressing the lock button on the back of your door when you head out for the day, don't'. You'll get locked out and only a special staff key will get you back in.
The room was large, I had a little balcony. Nice TV. Bathroom was fine. Location was the main reason to be there. The lodge is very well located and the price was right for the location. The only other possibility is very expensive Also the restaurant is excellent.
I imagined that I was going to be in a lodge. In reality, they have a series of two storey cottages. I had reserved the deluxe room with the view of the falls. Not a big deal as there was no falls to see at the time. But I was in the cottage farthest from the lodge and it was a real problem as they do not have any light on the road. To return from the restaurant, I had to borrow a flashlight to be able to get back.
1. Location 2. Hotel Staff 3. Best option for price
1. Limited food options 2. Thin walls - Loud neighbors could be an issue. 3. Dual pricing for holiday days vs normal days - I was not aware of this upfront.
The fact that I was given the wrong room. Reserved deluxe king, was put in a room with 2 double beds. Front desk would not move me to the correct room. Charged more than my reservation said. Reserved 2 nights for 452 dollars, was charged over 250 each night, so I ended up paying at least 50 more than my reservation confirmation said. Very unhappy.
The room was great: comfortable and well located.
There is not much choice for food in Yosemite and the choices at the Lodge were very disappointing. The quality of the meals was lacking (stodgy, bland and usually served cold), hardly any healthy options and it all was very expensive.
My wife and I just spent 4 days in San Francisco and 3 in Yosemite. In SF we stayed at a major name hotel at the Fisherman's Wharf district. This was better. The rooms are rustic but very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was above average but not great. It was better than I expected though. The lounge was better. Good bar food, drinks, and a great fire place. I would definitely come back.
Noise from neighbors, thin walls. small beds with too firm mattress.
Location to dining was important to us, very convenient.
Cafeteria food fair to good, but not excellent. Very satisfactory for a park. Lines were long during peak meal time. We were there in November. I don' think they have capacity for summer crowds. Finer dining room busy, but much better food.
Easy access to all areas.
We were so glad we chose to stay at The Lodge! We didn't know this prior to booking it, but it was the only place that had restaurants that were open! Bike rentals also went out through The Lodge, making it very convenient.
Location. Views. Room.
Thin walls. Very loud on both sides. Can hear everything.
Lots of accessories included with the room (mircowave, WiFi, fridge). Amazing scenic views and there was a deer right outside our door when we arrived.
Good, clean room and bathroom. Excellent location looking out on some trees near a meadow. Close to the shuttle bus stop, cafeteria and other restaurant. Heater and all appliances worked well. All of the furniture was rustic, well made.
Two double beds instead of one queen or king. Light switches were in hard to reach areas.
We loved the location. Priceless location and shuttle service right out front. We liked the Mountain Room Restaurant for dinner. Degnan's Deli was awesome.
The food court was terrible. The worst cafeteria food for high prices. The Mountain Lounge was great food our first night. It was first night of a new menu. The man next to us ordered the chicken and we got the chicken ceasar and the trout. The next night we came back and my husband ordered the chicken due to the portion and how much the guy raved about it. His came out and the chicken breast was half or a quarter the size of the night prior and had maybe one mushroom and a spoon full of sauce and I got the trout and it came with jasmine rice and not the brown like the menu and night prior. I worked restaurants for years. Plating and portions should be standard. And our room walls were paper thin. We planned early hikes and were still on east coast time and our neighbors were only talking and we had to drown them out with the TV to get back to sleep. It was more dorm quality than great resort. We would likely book The Awahnee (sp?) when we return due to this issue.
It is inside Yosemite Valley.
Everything! High room prices, poor facilities, dirty room, poor services; if hotel is outside Yosemite Valley, the room is only worth $80/night.
We liked the location.
The staff at the front desk, the staff at the lounge were all very rude and not helpful at all, we will pay more to stay elsewhere next time. Rooms were ok but outdated.
Me and my husband have been to the lodge on the middle of October and the location is amazing. The room is clean, with all the confort that you may need, located in the center of the Valley with a free bus that can take you all around the park.We highly reccomande this place
Can not beat the views of Yosemite Valley.
Food available in the park not great. wi-fi slow-ish.
