Noise from neighbors, thin walls. small beds with too firm mattress.
Location to dining was important to us, very convenient.
Cafeteria food fair to good, but not excellent. Very satisfactory for a park. Lines were long during peak meal time. We were there in November. I don' think they have capacity for summer crowds. Finer dining room busy, but much better food.
Easy access to all areas.
We were so glad we chose to stay at The Lodge! We didn't know this prior to booking it, but it was the only place that had restaurants that were open! Bike rentals also went out through The Lodge, making it very convenient.
Location. Views. Room.
Thin walls. Very loud on both sides. Can hear everything.
Lots of accessories included with the room (mircowave, WiFi, fridge). Amazing scenic views and there was a deer right outside our door when we arrived.
Good, clean room and bathroom. Excellent location looking out on some trees near a meadow. Close to the shuttle bus stop, cafeteria and other restaurant. Heater and all appliances worked well. All of the furniture was rustic, well made.
Two double beds instead of one queen or king. Light switches were in hard to reach areas.
We loved the location. Priceless location and shuttle service right out front. We liked the Mountain Room Restaurant for dinner. Degnan's Deli was awesome.
The food court was terrible. The worst cafeteria food for high prices. The Mountain Lounge was great food our first night. It was first night of a new menu. The man next to us ordered the chicken and we got the chicken ceasar and the trout. The next night we came back and my husband ordered the chicken due to the portion and how much the guy raved about it. His came out and the chicken breast was half or a quarter the size of the night prior and had maybe one mushroom and a spoon full of sauce and I got the trout and it came with jasmine rice and not the brown like the menu and night prior. I worked restaurants for years. Plating and portions should be standard. And our room walls were paper thin. We planned early hikes and were still on east coast time and our neighbors were only talking and we had to drown them out with the TV to get back to sleep. It was more dorm quality than great resort. We would likely book The Awahnee (sp?) when we return due to this issue.
It is inside Yosemite Valley.
Everything! High room prices, poor facilities, dirty room, poor services; if hotel is outside Yosemite Valley, the room is only worth $80/night.
We liked the location.
The staff at the front desk, the staff at the lounge were all very rude and not helpful at all, we will pay more to stay elsewhere next time. Rooms were ok but outdated.
Me and my husband have been to the lodge on the middle of October and the location is amazing. The room is clean, with all the confort that you may need, located in the center of the Valley with a free bus that can take you all around the park.We highly reccomande this place
Can not beat the views of Yosemite Valley.
Food available in the park not great. wi-fi slow-ish.
Coffee maker in room. Door opens to let in fresh air. Center lightbulb got changed quickly. Fun patio. Bike rental close.
Next time, we'll request Hemlock or Juniper because of the view for oil painting.
Parking situation is terrible. Food options are poor. Housekeeping is poor. Rooms are very mediocre. No WIFI although advertised as available. Poor cell coverage Expensive for what you get, other than location. Desk staff is uninformed but very friendly.
I have always considered Yosemite as heaven on earth. the Lodge enhanced that feeling. Just an incredible experience all the way around!
The convenience of location.
The location is fabulous, the rooms are spacious and surprisingly quiet.
Although there are a number of food options they were all rather chaotic, especially at breakfast and in the mountain lounge.
The hotel is in a great location.
It has a holiday park feel to it.
The location and patio area were fab.
The cafe was a bit disorganised
Location and the ability to walk
Quality and value for dollar at the Lodge. Car parking issues.
Amazing location and I think this is the best way to do Yosemite and staying in the park itself! Basic lodges and overpriced restaurants but the ease of being right in the park makes up for this....everything is right at your fingertips! I would recommend staying here but be prepared to pay big!!
Cost for what is a cute bit very basic lodge!
Love being in Yosemite Valley.
Clock impossible to reset after power failure. Poor lighting for reading in our room.
Location was amazing Lodge was lovely and spacious wth a great view
Eateries all close really early. We arrived late and ate in the canteen our first night - horrific experience. The guy on the grill was abusive to everyone, the food was poor standard and all the staff were grumpy as hell. Wouldn't have been so bad if it was cheap but it was pricey. Definitely the worst food experience out of our whole 3 weeks in the country.
Room was very big, we stayed in Elderberry building. Lovely balcony area with views of the valley. Its pricey but it's all about the location, we were in Yosemite to climb Half Dome so it was ideal for us. 5 minute walk to Lower Yosemite Falls. Food court is basic but good enough. Buses stop right outside the hotel if you don't want to walk everywhere.
Carpet was very dirty - I guess we did our share of bringing dirt in after hiking each day, but it would have been nice if some effort had been put in to sweeping it. There was a baited mouse-trap on the floor that no-one warned us about either!
view from windows, surroundings, staff in dining room very friendly and helpful.
being on top level with heavy bags, food at bistro expensive and awful, left phone charger in the room and sent email and have had no reply
