Location awesome. Great food in the restaurant and very friendly waiter (Vince). Only there for one night, should have stayed longer.
Bathroom and closet area a little dated.
Facilities and location are bar to none if you want to get he best out of Yosemite. Staff were very informative and friendly and the room had everything you would need with a great view right out of the back window.
The location is perfect if you plan on doing a lot of hiking. All the trailheads for the popular hikes are within easy walking distance. There are a lot of paved bike paths that can be used for both bicycling and walking. The Food Court offers a good selection of meals there times a day in a casual atmosphere..
Parking spaces are not assigned to the unit you are staying in. If you leave the valley for a short trip in your car you may have difficulty finding a convenient place to park upon your return. The carpeting in the units is the industrial type and hard on the bare feet. Use of slippers is recommended.
Expensive..... Dining room and room rate.
I liked the convenience of being near the Falls and all the trails within the Valley. I also appreciated that our room was close to the restaurant and main lobby. Room was clean and bathroom was nice and clean.
The prices were a bit outrageous but I am hoping some of this is due to shipping supplies in. It was a bit noisy.
Location was excellent, free shuttle system works well and lots of places to eat and buy food
The walking maps were not accurate enough for us.
Location was excellent. Tours left from this location and shuttle buses provided transportation in the valley. Food variety was very good and included a good restaurant for a better dinner, if desired. I was very happy with my room in the Maple building, which I was told was recently renovated.
Lodge was small.
Brilliant location and excellent natural surrounds. Loved Mountain Room restaurant for its excellent location, great food and service.
Staff could have been a bit more receptive and welcoming. Service at breakfast very slow, and dining room very dated.
Location was amazing rooms seemed to be tired but in process of being updated.
We found receptionist and other some staff rather rude and lacked satisfactory customer care service. We had some problems with our room and were moved the night /manager was helpful and apologised for her staff and unsatisfactory accomodation she said that she would personally look into our complaint and has given us a full refund
Bar Food was ok but expensive
Cafeteria food was very basic & expensive captive audience and they milked it! No T/C in rooms yet a fridge was poor. Would stay outside the park next time,
The location and the staff.
Location is terrific.
Thin walls and we had a crying baby next door. Hard to sleep.
I didn't like anything about Yosemite Lodge.
The room we were given was dark and dingy with no natural light. Also the terrace for the room was on a footpath so had no privacy. Day visitors had as much right to park as paying guests. They didn't have another room to show us so we left and stayed in the Wawona Hotel which felt infinitely better.
Third time is the charm. Meaning we moved our room several times before we were happy. We were first placed in one of the larger buildings across from the restaurant that looks like a large college dorm room. As we arrived, a grandmother and her two small grand children were roaming the halls getting exercise. There is a 1 inch gap on the bottom of every door which allows the hallway noise to come right in. They also happened to be right next door to us and I could hear loud talking and a baby screaming. Not exactly what I had envisioned for a romantic weekend away with my Husband as we left our loud children at home! I called the front desk and told them my concern. This time they moved us to the Tamarack building which is a smaller building on the very end. Problem was, the room below was being renovated and there was hammering, power saws and paint fumes coming up into our room! So once again I called the front desk. They then moved us to another room in the Tamarack building and it was just right :). I can confirm that all three rooms looked identical and reception confirmed all rooms have been renovated at this point. The rooms themselves were clean and nothing beats waking up in the park and starting your day! We brought our own coffee maker for our room as you otherwise need to make a trip to the mess hall type restaurant. They give you free vouchers for the Pete's coffee, but I like my coffee in bed in the morning!
Being in Yosemite
Room was next to ice machine - noisy
Location is great. Staff were great. The second room we were placed into (in Juniper) was great.
First room (4121) we were placed into (spent one of four nights there) had a horrible toxic smell from the recently installed new carpet. The Lodge should either use low VOC products or allow sufficient time for out-gassing after room renovations. It is hazardous to the health to spend time exposed to the chemicals that were in that room. Certainly the Lodge should not allow this at the price per night that is charged! We spent one night in 4121 and left the room by 9am for the day and my headache did not ease up until 5pm.
Nice facility, great staff and good food and drink. Yosemite is fantastic! The Lodge is right in the middle of everything with great access to the entire Yosemite Valley.
Sleeping at the bottom of the mountains !
Restaurant food was a bit rubbish.
Location next Yosemite Falls was great. Room was clean and updated with newer paint and bathroom fixtures. Nothing was broken in room. Food at the cafeteria tasted good.
Cafeteria staff was not friendly. The food tasted good, but was very overpriced for what was served. It was difficult to find a clean table toward the end of the meal rushes as the tables were not bussed quickly enough with 10-15 tables left with dirty dishes. Building next to ours was getting repaired/updated and was closed, but construction seemed to spill out too close to our building and felt like we were part of the construction site since we had an end unit.
Convenient location in the valley to be able to take advantage of the tours, etc., though we were only there 1 night so we could attend my wife's nephews wedding on Saturday evening. The meal afterwards, in the Mural Room, catered by the staff was excellent.
The termostat in our room was broken causing the room to be overly warm (90 degrees in the evening). Maintenance was called at 10:30 p.m., but couldn't do much at that time. By keeping the door and windows open while using a portable fan, we were able to bring the temperature down, but it was still warmer than desired for the remainder of the evening. Additionally, the shower head pressure was very low and while it may have been result of conserving of water, it was difficult to take a shower and be able to rinse off the soap with the little pressure available (the water pressure coming out of the bathtub faucet was fine, just not able to secure the same or close to the same pressure from the shower head.
The location was great, food very good and above all: the cleanliness of the room/bathroom.
Wildlife outside my room!!! Yosemite Falls outside the front door. The Cafeteria - convenient.
Mostly "American" fried food on offer - give me vegetables, not just one.
Other amenities located close by. Also close to trails.
Staff not aware trail was part-closed.
The walls of the room were paper thin and we couldn't sleep because all we heard were the people next to us
