Score from 1388 reviews Very good
Excellent location - easy access to the Rambla, good restaurants and shopping centre. Easy street parking.
Almost everything. It remains an extremely well run hotel - welcoming, friendly, efficient, wifi throughout and in rooms at no extra charge, clean pleasant rooms, well located. And good value.
The food is not very good; breakfast buffet and lunch barely acceptable (no decent bread); the only fault in a great hotel.
Young man who came out to greet us on arrival and helped the check in person by using some English when we couldn't understand what she was saying to us even though we speak some Spanish. She made no efforts to speak more slowly or distinctly and seemed to be trying to prove us wrong because she couldn't find a reservation. We had even spelled our last name to her in Spanish. Remains a mystery to us what the problem was. Reservation seemed to be "found" with young man's assistance (wish I had noted his name). The price (under 125/night) was attractive. The location in the suburb of Punta Carretas is about a 20 minute taxi ride to Centro. It felt safe, clean, offered the opportunity for walks to explore the neighborhood and surrounding restaurants and shops. Bed was very comfortable. For these reasons, I would recommend.
The check in receptionist's claim that she couldn't find, or we didn't have, a reservation. Her cold and unhelpful attitude. On checkout we were told that we hadn't paid even though other hotels we booked through booking.com had charged our credit card before we arrived, or on day of arrival. Confusing. Towels were thin and hard--a small thing but leaves a big impression. One day we found our room door open when we returned to hotel in the afternoon. Very disconcerting and we didn't have the impression that it would be a concern to anyone so didn't report it since nothing was missing from the room. Cleaning staff (and front desk reception need more/better training. We came back to our hotel room on different days to find towels not replaced, toilet paper not replenished, glasses not washed, and, on one occasion, our door left open. I would not recommend to someone who had no Spanish. I'm guessing the staff are not trained to use English with customers but some (in reception) will interject their comments with a few english words. Most of their clientele is not English-speaking so this might be appropriate for this business. That doesn't translate to cold and unreceptive though in my mind. Many of the staff in housekeeping and restaurant greeted us in Spanish or asked their questions and gave us information (in Spanish) in a pleasant manner. This is the most through review I've ever written. Unfortunately, it because I left the hotel with a negative feeling. Training and setting customer relationship expectation would go a long way in this hotel.
Beds are very comfortable and the room was spacious. Free Wi-Fi too.
The location is safe, but there are no restaurants nearby, so you will have to take a taxi.
Most of the staff very helpful. Allowed us to take a shower in the top floor spa facilities upon early arrival before normal check-in hours. Convenient location.
We were assured by the nice staff in the evening that we would be allowed to start the breakfast at 6:45, since we had to leave for the airport at 7:00. However, in the morning, the new staff on duty (at counter and in kitchen) denied us to do this, although most of the breakfast was already out and ready (only minor details remaining). Very rigid and not very customer friendly.
Very well located, walking distance to nice restaurants, easy access also by public transportation (buses).
Breakfast is not fantastic but is fine. Overall it was a great stay.
Staff, food at the hotel, location of the hotel
The location is good, and the stuffs are very nice
the internet is a little poor in the room, sometime i can't get internet access.ee
Bom café da manhã. Quartos amplos
Well received by very friendly, helpful staff. Good value for money.
Rooms are spacious, clean, modern. Decent breakfast with lots of fruit.
Our room was not cleaned, we had to ask for room service. When they came to clean (4:30pm!) my husband and I were resting, so the job was not done. Parking space was promised but at the time of parking, the space was not available.
The hotel is brand new and situated in a clean, safe area of the Uruguayan capital. Wi Fi worked perfect.
The staff was disappointing in several cases. For example, they failed to produce as simple services as changing langer banknote to smaller ones to pay our taxi, they didn't allow to bring a cup of coffee from the bar downstairs up to our room (!) and according at checking out to their initial invoice we were overcharged around 400 USD. The thing is that we had two reservations for same rooms, different dates and the later (and earlier) one was prepaid, I duly mentioned that in my second booking. Still, they didn't pay attention to it. We were not too happy but cleaning service, either - they came to make up our bed (and we don't need that, really) unstead of supplying with more toilet paper, we needed - and there was shortage of the same!
Good location. Nice breakfast. Everything clean and working.
The staff doesn't seem to be available to help with informations. Maybe few people X much work.
Location price staff room and bathroon space internet
Cleanliness was regular for a so good hotel
Friendly staff, updated rooms
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice with a variety of items. The location was close to many restaraunt and shopping. Stayed here five nights and would chose it again if visiting Montevideo.
Spacious and clean rooms, good breakfast.
Very slow check in; although we came at about 4 pm, we waited our room to be ready for half an hour. Complimentary drink was a nice touch though. It is located a bit away from the center, but bus stop is 2 min walk away and bus (very cheap) takes you straight in the downtown; not a big issue for us.
Location, Breakfast, housekeeping
I rent a room for 4 people and when I arrived there they didn't allowed me to stay there.
The hotel was clean and the only positive thing was the guy at the reception, Diego, he was kind and professional.
We arrived at 1:30PM and, despite we were tired, they refused to make the check-in 30min. in advance. The hotel location is not convenient at all, the downtown is far away from it and there's nothing in that area. You can only move by taxi or by bus and the bus stop is located 10min. by walk. No ATM in the area and no chance to pay by credit card for a pizza delivery service: it rained, the hotel had not an umbrella (?!) and we didn't have cash in the pocket, therefore no pizza. In the lobby's toilet there wasn't toilet paper a day long. We had the flight early in the morning and we had to check out at 6:30AM. We asked to have something to eat and, although everything was already prepared for breakfast, they didn't give us anything because breakfast starts at 7AM... no comment! We would not recommend this hotel.
The bedrooms are spacious, Breakfast is nice and dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful and we can recommand the hotel.
Some of the bathroom lamps didn't work and the lighting in the bathroom is pretty dark.
Very friendly staff, english a bit limited. Excellent location Good breakfast . Good size rooms
Disorganized housekeeping our room was only cleaned once in 5 nights and only after we asked. No information on hotel facilities and what to do in Montevideo
Fantastic location and good breakfast. Plus the rooms are super modern and the shower is awesome!
Nice and quiet neighborhood (be aware that this is NOT old town center!), about 2 km from seaside. Room was very clean and spacious. Staff very very friendly ,pro-customer oriented.
