It has a very nice, relaxed, colorful atmosphere, the hammocks in the garden are a great idea. The staff is helpful, and the people we met there were very interesting.
The town itself is quite expensive, and there are not many things to do. The downtown is nice for two days maximum.
Nothing wrong with this hostel, good facilities. Good location. I would stay here again.
The staff were really nice and relaxed. The hammocks, breakfast is one of the best I´ve had in a hostel-fruit, cereal, dulce de leche, cake, juice, chocolate milk. It's very relaxing
Making my own bed.
depending on the day, the staff is really nice... look in the bedroom doors... which is a plus in uruguay..
ok... the reception, the commom room, the lounge, the outside lounge, are all a huge corridor... all the rooms doors are straight in them... so it is a mix of noise... and really croweded... the mattress is like water or air stuff... really disconfortable... wi fi reaallly slow... they used some of my stuff in the fridge too.. I prefer hostels where the common areas and bedroom are away from each other...
Location is near the ferry and bus terminal
The common area was very cold, uncomfortable and not very nice. The stairs leading to it was a death trap at night as it wasn't lit. The security was not good as the access door to our room was the street side of the reception front door. The breakfast was poor. This did not appear to be the same standard as a regular Che Lagarto at all as it was generally run down with dirty broken furniture. It was the worst hostel we've stayed in.
A classic hostel, this place has the best atmosphere that I found all long my trip in Uruguay and Argentina.
The location is perfect for the ferry docks and the bus station. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Smoking in semi covered areas directly adjacent to rooms was unacceptable. The stairs leading to the breakfast room were dangerous and steep.
Location was good, soap in the bathroom, pretty clean. Staff were nice.
No where to sit except a couch next to the men's toilet and a few chairs out side, it was raining so the outdoor space was of no use to us and there was no where else to go. Breakfast was in a dodgy room upstairs that you got to via a rabbit warren of rooms and doors.
Nice breakfast, The bread was very tasty. Cute garden. Good air conditioning.
The bunkbeds were way too low and the room was too small for six persons with luggage. Because of the rain there was no area to eat our breakfast or dinner.
the stuff is very helpful and the location of the hostal is quiet and near the center. i enjoyed my stay there very much.
Nice hostel, really near to the bus station and the port! the place is nice, cool garden.
the rooms are a bit small for 6. the other one looks good. Just that so is not really bad
Location. That's about it.
Our booking was for a private double with air conditioning and a fireplace. We ended up being given a tin shed converted into a room (no kidding). The room had no flooring so the bare concrete was exposed, no air conditioning and no mosquito nets over the windows. The bed was being held up by a lonesome piece of wood. The TV certainly didn't have cable. All the other rooms here seemed much nicer and if any had been free I would've demanded to change. Since we were only here one night and managed to negotiate the rate down we stayed. If we had been staying more than one night I would've walked out not paid due to false advertising and found somewhere else in town to stay.
Great staff and location. Cute sitting area in the garden and open kitchen.
I was in the hostel twice and I recommend it in 100% for many reasons: a very friendly staff which creates a great atmosphere and makes you feel like a member of a hostel family; the best location you could imagine - just 3 min walk from bus and ferry terminals as well as from the Old Town; clean rooms and bathroom; no problems with availability of showers; Wi-Fi works fluently; nice patio allows you to have breakfast in the fresh air and at the same time check your emails (even in pijama); sufficient, delicious breakfast (especially cafe and jam); no any problems with using credit card. In general: great hostel for a reasonable price!
There were no things like that!
Close to the ferry-bus stations. Helpful staff, English speaking. Was in own room not dorm. Shared showers ok..
Very basic breakfast
Friendly people, good location.
Bed bugs :((( Were eaten up alive.
