Friendly staff, good room and bathroom, very very good breakfast.
Owner and son make an effort to help out guests. Nice building close to all the major things.
Very cold room in October. Breakfast wasnt edible- couldnt understand why it was always cold and stale as I rose early each day.
Owners are wonderful, the common area is pleasant. One minute walk from Gur E Amir Five minutes walk from Amir Timur statue and Old Town and many restaurants 10 mins walk from Registan and Supermaket
Fantastic location, great bathroom and bedroom, especially for the price, and a lovely breakfast. The staff were very helpful and allowed me and my friend to use the office computer.
We visited during a very cold spell. The heater in our room only pumped out hot air 50% of the time. The bathroom floors are heated, but unfortunately the water that trickles out of the tap is not.. during our three-day stay we weren't able to take even one warm shower. When we told the owner he shrugged it off like it was normal. The wifi hardly worked at all. You get the feeling that they are trying to penny-pinch their guests by charging for things like boiling water and hair dryer usage.
The location, of course, can't be beat. The guesthouse itself is very beautiful, and the breakfast was hearty and filling (although a bit same-y after a few days). When one of us came down with a stomach bug, the staff were understanding and quick to help us out. It's a great place to meet other travellers, and there are lots of common areas to congregate outside of your room.
The father and son team who run the guesthouse are keen to provide good service to good service to the boarders
After an alleged overbooking (which was not communicated prior to arrival), the manager put us up in a room with the bathroom across the courtyard (and reduced our rate by $2). Going to take a shower in the unheated shower room when it's 7C outside is not a pleasant experience. Wi-Fi is sporadic (we've been told that the router "needs to rest") The manager demanded payment either in dollars (which is a violation of local laws) or in local currency using black market exchange rate (which is against the law as well) Greed is a sin
Very close to Gur Emir.
Very nice and helpfull hosts, nice house and very good breakfast.
Location, Break Fast and cleanliness
Wifi only worked in courtyard, not in rooms. Room had no window, so it was impossible to get fresh air.
Very good location, 10 minutes walk to Registan. They organised free shuttle from train station after calling them the previous night.
During our stay the wifi was slow and unavailable much of the time. Although the rooms were clean, we did have to ask to have the bins in the bathroom emptied halfway through our five-night stay.
The Emir is in a perfect location, tucked away in a side-street next to the Gur-e-Amir mausoleum. The peaceful courtyard is a lovely place to escape from the heat of Samarkand after a day's sightseeing and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good with some variety.
Little too stressful and intolerant member staff, but still manageable.
Slow processing of our registration in Samarkand
Location, helpful staff
I stayed only one night in this b&b as I needed to go back to Tashkent to catch my flight. This is a really nice b&b in a great location just next to the Amir Temur mausoleum. The rooms are all new, with nice wooden doors. Everything is clean and the beds are comfortable. The host family was very helpful and helped me with all my questions. The breakfast was very good, many different things were offered from bread with cheese or salami to jam and the for the region typical semolina porridge. I had a great start into the day. Would always recommend the place to friends.
The place has a long tradition. The history of providing travellers with accomodation and other services has deep roots here. Ask the owner for all the details (including bricks of gold, forced nationalization, divorce, etc.)! The rooms are clean, staff very friendly, polite, and welcoming, breakfast lovely, and the whole place very cosy even in the middle of summer.
Very very friendly staff, spoke good english, and the location was very good
It is a little hard to find, but the Location is wonderful (with sights to Gur Emir mausoleum).
The staff was amazingly kind with us. The young person in charge of the hosts is eager to help you and It is really useful giving tips about Samarkand , taxis , restaurants and solving all the doubts you could have.
Father is a lovely cheerful man. Son is fluent in English. Both are very correct and efficient.
One of the double rooms was very hot despite it was April.
Conveniently located close to city centre.
The rooms downstairs are a bit dark.
It's a very quiet house with a court yard behind a gate.
Currently the entrance courtyard of the property is being renovated; it wasn't noisy but to get in an out you had to take care. There was a small problem as I paid, this property wants to be paid USD as they pointed from their booking.com site, not the sum as noted on booking.com's automated email. After some negotiations they accepted a fair price in sum but travelers should be warned.
The location was good and the staff were kind.
