Perfect location between new and old city!

Nothing to mention.

- Great location. The hotel is right in front of the Metro station and it is very close to tourist sights, restaurants and shops. It is also very easy to catch a taxi in front of the hotel. - Every taxi driver in town knows this hotel. - Well-appointed rooms.

- The morning call which I asked the night before was almost half an hour late! Fortunately I had set up the alarm on my mobile phone as backup. - The water pressure of the shower was very low and the drain was partially blocked. I needed to interrupt my shower a few times to avoid flooding the bathroom. - The bell boys working at the hotel have assumed that you have to give them money regardless of the quality of their service. They insist to help you with your luggage even when you have told them you don't need (want) it and then coerce you to give them money. They make no effort to offer you something extra like a pleasant small talk or hint about a good restaurant. They tell (order) you to give them a tip and just stand next to you until you do it. In my opinion this is theft and the weapon is psychological pressure. It always happens when you are alone with them (in your room or luggage storage room). In the end you tend to comply in order to avoid spoiling your trip over one dollar. In my opinion it is a disgraceful attitude that outweighs the good points about the hotel.

Helpful staff at reception, nice room, great location with a metro station right next door. Breakfast had plenty of choice, although it wasn't 5 star standard. I had the one local dish recommended by the waiter at the restuarant on the top floor (mutton chops with white wine sauce) which was tasty, and very reasonably priced.

They wouldn't let me pay in Som, so I had to pay in USD on my credit card.

The location is the only real plus of this hotel.

The wifi in the room is too slowly, impossible to work with. The accommodation in the room is too old. The lunch and the dinner is to avoid (is not warm enough, sometimes is cold for 12$ !!) there is a lot of good restaurants for less then that.

I loved my stay. So much so that I am staying here again on my way back. You cannot beat the location - right in the center, right beside the metro. The breakfast is absolutely phenomenal (and this is coming from a vegan). To those saying the staff was unfriendly, I did not find that at all to be the case. This hotel made me fall in love with Tashkent.

Internet in the room would be the cherry on top.

the front office staff needs to speak better english and needs to be more friendly. in fact they should learn to smile. there is one male front office staff, who looks like an african, who need to learn how to be a bit more enthusiastic when dealing with guests. Front office sucks badly.

Before going to Tashkent some people tried to talk me from staying in hotel Uzbekistan because it is old and recommended more expensive hotels. I did not have any problems with my stay. I booked superior double room and it was quite spacious. Breakfast was good. Location is excellent. Price/Quality ration is awesome.

The price is quite expensive compare with facility and roon status. It would be better for them to have remodelling there room and discount the price

The biggest hotel at the city center. A lot of multinational people stay there. Easy find someone to talk in lobby.

The location of this hotel is in the city centre and very near to the underground Metro. The restaurant at Level 17 had offered a good food at reasonable price.

The room is small and I was staying there for 6 days and was having the same breakfast menu without fresh fruits.

Overall, for the price I paid for this hotel, it was an excellent value. The hotel is a little worn here and there but the given the price (and the other options in Tashkent), this hotel was for me the best choice. The hotel has an excellent central location. It is actually a prominent feature in the downtown area, just behind the Amir Timur statue. There is a very convenient subway stop next to the hotel. The train station can be reached by subway (2 stops with a connection) for only 700 som. The hotel is also a short walk to the "Broadway" area for shopping and eating and a block behind the hotel is a large, nice supermarket (one of the nicest I visited in Tashkent). Although the room was little small, it was very comfortable and services were good. The shower always had hot water, the wifi was strong and reliable and the bed was the best bed I had in all of Uzbekistan. The breakfast buffet was also very satisfying. I stayed in two hotels in Tashkent (at the beginning and end of my trip through Uzbekistan) and Hotel Uzbekistan was far superior to the other other hotel in terms of service, location and amenities, and I paid about 60% more per night at the other hotel.

Given the overall value for the price, I can't really complain about the hotel. My only one comment to customers of the hotel, would be to not use the money changing facilities at the hotel. You can get a better exchange rate without commission at the National Bank of Uzbekistan and even better rates through other options if you look for them.

Very bad experience at all levels: from check-in to the stay in the room up to the check-out. Staff is very unfriendly and doesn't smile. All the hotel smells cigarettes smoke, rooms very old and housekeeping from the entrance to the hotel, to lobby, elevators, floor corridors and rooms are dirty.

Just booked this hotel to have a place to stay at my first day in uzbekistan. There should be many cheaper and cosier options in Tashkent though.

The location of the hotel and breakfast both were good. The hotel management is very courteous.

Room was smaller and the AC was not proper. The room carpet was quite old.

We liked the view from upper floors over the central park.

Needs renovation. Very old carpets. No wifi in the rooms, which is very disturbing especially if u have to use the public wifi in the lobby. It fluctuates. They could do better by installing a better internet service. Gym also is outdated.
