The beds were extremely hard, the staff isn't overly kind, but not really rude...the woman in the shop is a person to avoid as she had nothing kind to say about anyone/thing. The last thing I want to do on vacation is run into people who are annoyed by travelers.
We loved the location, the beach, and the atmosphere of the crew who captained the ferry.
Mattress wasn't great, and although there's nothing they could do about it but the roosters in town started being loud around 4 am and the sound traveled across the water. Restaurant was convenient but service was not good.
The location gave options for restaurants and shopping, we enjoyed the little 5 minute boat rides and the beach as well as the view from our room and balcony. Nice big flat screen tv. Nice to have access to snorkels and water sport rentals right on property.
Waterfall was shut down from the day we arrived and then 7 days later when we were leaving, it was finally working, though we didn't get the full effect. Would have been nice to hear that at night. Our room was close to the terrace which I loved in the morning to watch the sunrise as I exercised, but the smokers at night made it impossible for us to open the windows as we got the stench of cigar smoke! I think they need to create a separate smokers area away from the hotel rooms as the breeze will blow it into the room. Our room was 'non-smoking' so it was surprising when we saw an ashtray in the kitchen cabinet.
Great snorkeling off the back (north side) of the island but you have to walk through the trash pile area to get to it. Views were gorgeous; ferry service great and room w/kitchenette was nice size unless you want to close the door to the bathroom.
The fridge in our room looked a little bit rusted or dirty.
The island of Prodestant Cay is full of all types of wildlife: birds, lizards, fish, caterpillars. It also has a nice beach with seashells, fish, coral, anything you can think of! The ferry operators are very kind and the ferry only takes a couple short minutes to go to/from Christiansted. Everyone in the area is very friendly and laid back. I already want to go back.
Not bad, but the restaurant is normal. If you are in the beach and want something to snack sure have something there. If you want something more just cross in the mini boat and have something else, is just 90ss away. The worst thing is we didn't stay more days
The location and staff were excelent. A place to go for people looking for a place to sleep whille having everything near you. Don't expect a super new hotel but the true is you don't need it especially if you looking forward to experience all the island have to offer
Relaxed atmosphere. If you want night life, this is not the place. The view and the weather were amazing. Great beach! Hotel needs a bit of sprucing up but is a great value.
Price started at a low cost then you get all the hidden fees which sends the cost way up there.
I like the hotel and the location.
The rooms could be updated but they were fine for us. No conditioner or lotion was provided
we had a great time here and we're presently surprised that we had to ride a ferry to get to the hotel. They ferry was fun and not a hassle at all. All the staff were wonderful. Internet was spotting but at least they had it. Ours was the only beach in the area so people would ride the ferry over to use the beach. But we really loved it.
The room is dated and quite basic, although the king bed and couch were both comfortable. The shower was glitchy, but I eventually learned how to get it set to keep the water consistently warm.
The ferry was amazing, usually there before we even got to dock. The island is small, private, and in a perfect setting. The room was large enough, the a/c worked well, and any kind of kitchen is a bonus in the Caribbean. There are multiple TV channels and the WIFI was free and worked.
The hotel staff were friendly this was the best vacation ever so much so I will be purchasing a vacation rental so I can go whenever I like
1. Hotel front entrance running water falls/pool was never meintaned, leafs was always in the water & the falls was not working. 2. My family very time first time snorkeling. However when renting the gear. The young man about 17 years old was not friendly. We try to explain to him it was our 1st experience & he looks at us like really. Never explain the rules & mention the best area to snorkel. He must of been covering for someone at the time. because moments after the store manager arrived & with in 60 seconds she was able to show us how to used the gear in the ocean correctly & showed us the best areas on the Cay to snorkel also the precaution areas.
Easy access to snorkeling & scuba diving. The beach front & veiw from my room was beautiful. Staff was very polite & friend. Especially front desk clerk Ann.
Location is superb ,! Just a 90 sec across the harbor by ferry! Beautiful ocean view and clear water beach good for water sports. Beach bar offers buffet and menu options , very affordable prices ! Staff is always willing to help! Ferry is available even on off schedule hours ! Rooms are big and beds are comfy , . Bathroom has been remodeled , very nice . Small kitchen with microwave and utilities! There is a small shop open daily to buy water , etc. JUST PARADISE!
Needs a designated secure place to park vehicles. Didn't feel safe leaving rental car on the streets like that
Just about everything
It would have been nice to have more than one night option for dinner at the hotel.
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly. I had a fabulous time and will return again!
The location and value for the money. I plan on returning soon.
Location is great for the shops, restaurants and boardwalk yet provides the privacy of being on the Cay with it's own beach and restaurant/bar. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the bartenders are great and make the best Pain Killers on the island.
The $150 electricity surcharge added to the bill on checkout and not mentioned beforehand.
View from the room, the beach, the staff and ambience.
The location, right on the beach, close to the city, the ferry boat service , the staff at reception and cleaning,
WiFi was at times faulty; however, never a great inconvenience. Besides, we are not here to work or be plugged in!
The ferry service was great and always timely and accomodating. Not an inconvenience at all.
We come each year to HOC for New Years to get away from the madness that is F'sted and Parades..this year I had chickingunya and the lack of ramps or alternatives to stairs made our trip difficult...will be looking elsewhere next time...unless you put some ramps in...we are all going to get old and will need access...
The new beds were great! and as always staff is wonderful!
The room with two double beds was simple with a clean bathroom and kitchenette. One bed was completely dirty. The sheets had sand in them along with someone else's hair and clearly had been made up but not changed. Disgusting.
The hotel is located on an island in Christiansted offering great views.
There was no ramps for the luggage, and a lot of stairs to climb...
The hotel is located on the only clean (without see-grass) beach in Christiansted.
This is not about the hotel but some general information. It is not easy to get groceries in town. A small 7 11 type shop was 15-20mis walk. A car or taxi ride is needed to get to a larger grocery store.
The beach is at the front door of the hotel. It has a bar and restaurant that are run by very friendly people. Very quick trip into the town.
