Room was clean. Staff was friendly.
Very little going on in the evening. No island music playing. Difficult to get to the Coco Joe's restaurant, without having to walk the beach. Too many steps to climb down to the beach. Not enough restaurant choices. Most menus are the same. Few choices. Pool unheated. There are three hotel buildings, and someone should have told us which one we were getting when we booked it. Don't take a first floor room....iguanas walk the path there.
Waiter at Blue Restaurant was outstanding.
The shower was never warm. It was either way too hot or freezing cold. It's really hard to tell from your reservation which wing you are in. Once we found we were in the Morningstar, the buildings weren't numbered and our room was hard to find in the dark.
The location was great and the view was wonderful. Resort fee included Wi-Fi.
Drinks and food were over priced. Note that there is a hefty "resort fee."
Wonderful setting with great views of the Caribbean and Charlotte Amalie. Grounds are beautifully kept and everywhere one looks there is something interesting to see. Swimming pools are very nice.
Beach is not great.
cocktails quick checkout food
The paint needs to include a deterrent for mold. There is mold in the cover of the A/C duct and on ceiling. Get rid of the old center of ceiling fixture connector. Could hear the down stairs couple very easily in the early morning hours. Check in was very lengthy.
The location and the view was fantastic
The AC was very load. The room was not ventilated
Everything and everyone...especially all the staff.
Wish they could have tighter security for local undesirables coming onto property at night.
The view,cleanliness and staff.
Walls paper thin.Entrance to rooms. A bit expensive for what you get. Only one good restaurant on property.
Very nice staff which make you feel welcome. The view to Charlotte Amalie, Cruise ships etc was exceptionel.
Small pool for many people, not able to swim only cool Down meaning standing in the Water. Pool was dirty due to many people and small. Four restaurants but more or less same food in all restaurants. Food was mostly "fastfood" with no or only very little "greens". General food is expensive considering that it is "fastfood". One of the restaurants should be turned into a Buffet restaurant in the evenings. No shuttlebuss to the airport.
Cost and slowness. This took up our time because we had to wait around.
The resort is stunning but...
I was really disappointed with the food at the outdoor restaurant. If you are vegan or vegetarian there are no main meal options. I decided to settle on a salad. But the lettuce was limp the avocado was still frozen and that's all it was other than six small tomatoes. There was no flair in the salad, no taste, the ingredients were just all thrown on the plate. It's about time restaurants recognise that some people just don't eat meat fish or cheese and make something worth eating for us that doesn't mean just lettuce leaves, some chefs just don't have any imagination!!!
I liked the infinity pool and the bar seats in the water. The bar tender was such a joy, made a new drink for me, and made me feel special. I loved Coco Joe's restaurant and the Fourth of July showing of a movie on the beach and the making of smores. Great organization by the Frenchman Reef staff.
There was no internet service. I couldn't post my pictures until I flew back to United States mainland.
Everything was so great an the people on the island were so nice
Food is expensive
Over priced food and beverage. Poor internet service. Bland food menus
veiw was great ,several very nice pools, food very good, but expensive the whole experience was great.
free shutter to airport
exorbitant food costs
The resort is situated in a beautiful location with access to awesome beaches.
The hotel leaked
The location and staff.
way too expensive for what it offered, I had no choice ( Delta cancelled me) but this was very much too expensive for a property that although friendly and had all resources you could wish for was a bit decayed and needs an upgrade
Loved the view and location
Alcoholic beverages grossly overpriced
Nice location, plenty to keep entertained.
Room was not clean. AC very loud. Facility needs a clean up for the price.
The location was great with good views from the pool area. The beach was good but very small, it is only about 10m from the water to the end if the sand.
The hotel is in sure need of a makeover. The rooms look like they haven't had any updates or attention in about 10yrs. The in room Internet was so slow I could barely check email, and there is no option to purchase faster internet access. When I mentioned this to the front desk their response was that maybe I should try going online in the lobby area. Not really interested in having to sit in the lobby on vacation... It took over 45mn to get served at the pool deck restaurant when only half the tables were occupied. Overall a disappointing experience for the high price we paid for an ocean view room.
Room looked tired, AC sounded like a jet plane ... reservations double booked us so we ended up sleeping in seperate beds for the weekend ... which we was given a breakfast for .... for over a 1000 for 2 days we weren't impressed
Very beautiful site and views - we didn't see a more beautiful site on St Thomas Easy access to the beach Self contained proposition (ie everything you need on site)
Restaurants exceptionally overpriced for relatively average food (exception is Havana Blue - which is also exceptionally overpriced but for interesting food). Unfortunately when you add in cab fare, going off site becomes fairly uneconomic. Property clearly a bit worn down - but not a major issue Staff quality was decidedly mixed. Some staff were excellent but many had no idea. To be fair this appears to be more of a cultural/location issue than solely a management issue. (Lots of other local resorts suffer this same issue).
