Nothing! Other guests have mentioned too many stairs. Well from the street to my top floor room: 96 steps, BUT relax at the lobby on the way up, and don't bring a ridiculous amount of luggage, and you will enjoy the little bit of exercise!
Gail, who runs the place is cheerful, efficient and enthusiastic. I would go back just for her bubbly nature and good tips on where to go and how to get there. She is a gem. The view from the top (and 2nd) floor is spectacular - I'm sure the best on the island. Breakfast is served on a breezy verandah/lobby overlooking the town. It is a great time to meet other guests and relax over a good breakfast (included!)

The beds are a little stiff, probably the only downside.
It was a quick walk from the ferry terminal and then down to the waterfront for shopping and restaurants. They offer great room configurations for all types of groups. The staff is so friendly and helpful- really made the stay! The pool is beautiful and a great amenity.

Super good location to hoof it around town without being in the touristy parts. Super nice people. Clean and simple rooms. If you prefer charm and funkiness to the sterile hotel kinds of places then check it out.

There are many, many stairs even to get up to the check-in. The rooms are pretty basic so if you are looking for upscale, you will not find it here. It takes a long time to get hot water in the upper rooms.
The view is fabulous. It is located fairly close to the action on the main drag. The staff is very helpful.

Showers run out of water if someone else is showering. All else was great.
Gail is involved in the running. She is energetic, enthusiastic and efficient and super friendly. I'd come back here just to say "Hi" and eat her wonderful breakfast. View from top floor is spectacular :D

Too many stairs with no help for bags, especially with young kids. The internet was a joke even paying for it I couldn't open a website. They don't supply shampoo or conditioner but the water pressure was so bad it would have never washed out anyway. Rooms need a renovation. The cost to value ratio were very disproportionate.
The pool was nice for my boys with lots of toys for them to play with, although no shallow area. Breakfast was good. Nice to have a fridge in the room. Close to sites and shopping.

Flies in the room
I would not spend a vacation here. The room was ok. Staff was outstanding

Not a single complaint!
The staff, Gayle, Chris and Shawn. All a wealth of "good" info. Galleon is like adult summer camp. Fun to join others, for a well prepared breakfast, on the covered, wooden terrace. Loved the walk up the stairs, the view over the red roofs is outstanding!

We had no bad experiences.
The staff couldn't have been better! Gail was especially helpful and welcoming! She served a delicious hot breakfast. We didn't mind the stairs that some people complained about. And the view from the terrace was superb!!

The room was rather outdated. It was clean but the walls were all scuffed up and the fixtures were in need of some repair. The bed was a little bit springy. I didn't think it was a good value but based on other costs for other places on the island, it definitely seems to be a fair rate.
The location was great. Within walking distance of all the restaurants and shopping. Although you had to climb a lot of stairs. The staff was the best part of the place. They were so friendly and helpful!

Loud. Heard loud talking through the hallway to the Patio.

Nothing. It was perfect.
This was an excellent place to stay, just a couple blocks from the main street. The staff were wonderful, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The pool was an added bonus to cool off from the hot afternoon. The perfect place to stay. I highly recommend staying here.

A lot of steps especially with cases.
Location and close to centre and ferry to St John.

downtown charlotte amalie doesn't have much to offer. It's totally geared to the cruise ship crowd. not the hotel's fault.
good value great staff convenient location

Had to share a bathroom but not bad... Price was right...
Near shops,Resturants and historical sites, and ferry..

I didn't mind it but from the street, it was prob about 3 flights of stairs to walk up to the room, so if you have A ton of luggage it might be an issue. I actually like the wildlife, but if you don't like the occasional lizard in the pool, you might have an issue lol.
Loved the price. Room had a beautiful view. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and provided a great opportunity to meet other guests and find out what to see and do. Also like a 2 minute walk from shopping, restaurants and bus stop. Not fancy, but had everything I needed (fridge, air conditioner, cable)

Loved this place. It met our expectations. Ms. Gail who runs the B&B is a wonderful person who really takes great care of her guests. We really enjoyed our conversations with her and look forward to an opportunity to return. We would definitely stay here again..
