We loved it. Very convenient to the mall area and Gale was amazing! And the breakfast she cooked was awesome. We will stay there again. Loved it.
Had to pay for the wifi
Friendly staff, quiet
Noisy Air Conditionner
Location to town. Breakfast. Gail
steps, chickens and dogs in morning.
location, simplicity, cleanliness, pool, bed comfort.
It was hard to find initially- no one we asked seemed to know where it was.
Near shops,Resturants and historical sites, and ferry..
Had to share a bathroom but not bad... Price was right...
Loved the price. Room had a beautiful view. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and provided a great opportunity to meet other guests and find out what to see and do. Also like a 2 minute walk from shopping, restaurants and bus stop. Not fancy, but had everything I needed (fridge, air conditioner, cable)
I didn't mind it but from the street, it was prob about 3 flights of stairs to walk up to the room, so if you have A ton of luggage it might be an issue. I actually like the wildlife, but if you don't like the occasional lizard in the pool, you might have an issue lol.
Loved this place. It met our expectations. Ms. Gail who runs the B&B is a wonderful person who really takes great care of her guests. We really enjoyed our conversations with her and look forward to an opportunity to return. We would definitely stay here again..
Relaxed and simple: just what I was looking for.
Convenient to town and shopping.
Too many stairs, need a ramp for roll aboards, does not comply with handicap requirements.
The manager, Gail, is a gem. Whatever you need, she is always willing to help you with. She can tell you about beaches, restaurants, shopping, etc. If you like BBQ ribs and chicken, be sure to ask her about the food truck parked at the bottom of the hill. Heavenly food at a reasonable price with lots of sides to choose from. The complimentary breakfast is wonderful; Gail also cooks! All the guests are friendly and its nice to sit and chat with them after breakfast or any time you pass through the lobby. We would definitely stay at the Galleon House again.
I can't really think of anything that I didn't like. Of course, if you like staying at 5 star resorts, this isn't the place for you. But if you want a nice, casual and comfortable place at a GREAT price, try Galleon House.
The people there are friendly and very helpful and the breakfasts are nice. Most economical place to stay in St. Thomas, and centrally located.
Be prepared to go up and down a lot of stairs. 93 steps from the entrance to our room.
Staff was friendly & helpful; breakfast was delicious and a great time to meet other guests; nice pool; great balcony; good location
Poor upkeep of rooms(walls need paint, lights missing bulbs or covers, plugs fall out of electrical outlets), got bit in the rooms daily by many mosquitos. Lots of stairs. Ice machine broken, repairman working on it for several days.
Great location close to shopping by the bay. Staff was friendly. They let us store our luggage before check in since we arrived early from St. John and after check out since we had a late flight. There were lots of steps (52)to check in....but previous comments prepared us!
The view of the bay was wonderful
The steps we had to climb with our luggage.
Location is fantastic; owner and staff are very friendly. This is a quaint, cozy place - not a slick modern one. Breakfast is basic, but good.
Too many steps with luggage - but it is not kept a secret, and for the value it is totally worth it. (And we are in our 60s)
Staff was great, very helpful and amiable. Everyone makes you feel at home. Gayle was fantastic, very interesting lady.
Need better coffee
Lots of steps to get to room.
Superb view and good room only when you upgrade. Basic rooms are indeed basic and with no view there is little to feast your eyes on.
Complementary breakfast only from 8 am onwards impossible to get with early departures.
Friendly and accommodating and can't do enough for you whilst so laid back
The hilly area and the stairs, but hey, you can't have everything
Nothing....but price was low.
The hotel was in poor condition, rooms shabby and very small. Even at a low price, not worth it. Lots of steps and noone to help with luggage. Poor attitude of staff. Very very mediocre breakfast (e,g, supermarket muffins microwaved so they were rubbery) . Only good for hostel travelers at best.
Pleasant environ. Staff were most helpful with local info. Staff were very approachable, and cettianly most friendly.
Price seemed high for smaller units with no bathroom attached.
hot water and a/c; felt secure; clean; beautiful view of the harbour from breakfast area - and good breakfast
ripped window screens left us swatting mosquitos any time we were in the room; so many stairs to climb; limited parking; squeakiest bed ever; extremely overpriced for what is basically a hostel
The warmth of the welcome was unbeatable. We felt so relaxed and comfortable with the staff and the other guests who shared the terrace with us. We really liked being in the heart of a genuine neighborhood.
The bed made a funny, scrunching noise, but was not uncomfortable.
Gayle the manager was great, very friendly and helpful It is a great place could not ask for a better location for what we wanted to do.
