The wifi and the view
the location for hotel
I loved the view from our balcony. We saw the most beautiful sunsets, hence the name. I also liked the BBQ in the pool area. .
The manager is probably the biggest weakness. The rest of the staff tried hard to provide good service despite management. They were terrific. Also, the construction and maintenance of the accommodations was amateur at best. Mind you, that may be the result of cost cutting management.
Friendly manager; room was clean, including bathroom. Appreciated efforts to spruce up an older, aging facility. Short wait for taxis. Nice view of bays near Charlotte Amalie.
If you don't have a car, the location requires a taxi ride for all services- meals, shopping, airport, ferry, etc. Each round trip re: $30. Cloudy day = no hot water.
View was awesome, great house keeping staff and front desk staff (Deb and Angie were what made the stay tolerable). Rest of it terrible.
No hot water till late afternoon (solar no back up water heater source). View was great, neighborhood no so much. Not hotels fault, bad tenants below, barking dogs. Chickens are part of this island, again, not hotels fault. Will not stay there again.
The Stove was filthy with food dripping down the side. The screen door was broken and let bugs in. The bed was rock hard and uncomfortable. The shower had no hot water. The a/c only in the bedroom was loud and blew directly on us making it impossible to sleep. We moved out after one night even though we had paid for a week.
the walk from the airport is a killer
the hotel was run down, broken furniture, smelly bathrooms, dirty kitchen. would not recommend it to anyone.
Staff were very accommodating - let us in well after hours.
Air con didn't work in both rooms at the same time, shower pressure was non-existant, shower was revolting, sheets were dirty, room was dingy. Would definitely pay an extra $20 for something livable.
Nothing, except the view. We would have paid $250 to stay somewhere else that night on top of the fee for this room. We were not comfortable.
Cab drivers did not know where it was, on a tiny island. If you arrive before the office opens at 3 (closes at 6) you will have to wait outside in the sun or rain until the manager opens the door. A speedo wearing guest was smoking weed at the pool, the smoke was inescapable in the office and pool proximity as we waited. The same guest, we were told by another guest, had been a source of complaints for loud music and yelling within his unit. The couch was filthy and worn out,and was worse than what I typically see at Good Will. The crank for the window had fallen off, making it impossible for the window in the bedroom to close properly. We slept with the lights on to keep the roaches out of our bags.
The lady at the front desk was very nice. We checked in late and she got up and checked us in even at the late hour.
Booked this room for one night before a charter boat trip. Would not stay here again. The bed was so uncomfortable we couldn't sleep - it was like sleeping in a canoe it was so worn out. The pool area was dirty and chairs were broken. The view is pretty but location is too far to walk to anything. Even if you wanted to walk, the road is not safe to walk on (no shoulder and lots of traffic) Must take a taxi to go anywhere. ($24 for 2 people with 2 bags each from the airport and $24 again to the ferry dock)
Friendliness and helpfulness of manager to locate open 24 hr gas station to fill up before returning rental car to airport. Great place to stay the night before an early flight home. Relaxing pool and balcony. Short driving distance to marina supermarket and warfside pub.
It would have been more welcoming for the pool cleaner to do the work between check-out and check-in rather than an hour after check-in.
The apartment was clean and well set up.
The pool was unavailable because the pump was not working. Not enough privacy in the bathroom, neighbor could see through window.
The owner was very sweet! Awesome!!!! Thank you again!
Beautiful view from the balcony. Breakfast provided in room included fruit, coffee, bagels, muffins, juice, cream cheese, butter. Air conditioning and ceiling fan. Friendly host.
The shower was not great although we realize that water is not plentiful.
The views. The helpful manager.
No nearby restaurants or shops. I didn't rent a car and this property really needs one.
No cable/internet service. Sheets were stained (staff was very apologetic but said it was the best they had). Slip cover on the sofa was stained and dirty (disgusting)! Room was very stark and unwelcoming.
Deb was great. Nice view.
Facilities are run down. Office hours are short. No air conditioning. Immediately adjacent neighbors all have roosters and dogs. No breakfast until 9 AM. We stayed at the Bunker Hill Hotel downtown on our way back through St Thomas and honestly it was a much much better value for the exact same price.
the views from the room paid for the room itself it was super fantastic! Deb the manager was really nice and gave us TP, towels when asked as they do not enter the room while you are there for anything. so you need to ask, that didn't bother us none.
we stayed there for 10 days out of the 10 days there were gun shots two differnt nights.... not to make for a relaixing vacation, the pool had several bee's and bugs in it. the woman directly below us not at the motel but in seperate apartment on the hillside was yelling every single night at her kids and this would go on until 9:00 at night, not a very peaceful place.
Location, the view from the balcony, close proximity to the airport and car rental (car rental within a walking distance). WiFi access was a little slow but reliable and working at all times. I liked the refrigerator and kitchinette available for use. The staff was nice and very helpful.
The facility is not in the best technical condition including furniture and other equipment. Expensive for what if offers but the price is competitive compared to other hotels in St Thomas
Place is terrible
Wifi doesn't work. Breakfast was a joke. Place wasn't clean. Find somewhere else
Nice view of the bay, friendly staff
Room was not fully cleaned Far from downtown
The front office manager was nice to us. She knew that we had to leave early in the morning for a flight, and she brought breakfast to us the night before. That was very nice.
The hotel was very very behind in maintenance. The steps were broken. The pool tiles were broken. The lounge chairs had large tears in the fabric. The sheets on the fold out couch were dirty. There was someone doing car repairs in the parking lot when we arrived in the evening. He didn't look like a hotel guest. There was another car up on Jacks with one of the wheels missing. The entire hotel needs serious repair work. The view from the balcony is quite excellent, but if you look down from your view you will see trash and garbage all over the grounds. The couches in the room were greasy and I didn't want to walk on the floors without shoes on. Overall, quite an experience.
I loved the location. Sitting on top of the hill with that amazing view was everything.
I don't know of they were little ants or termites BUT they were everywhere. I guess due to us having the private suite we were next to the sewage piles it had a weird smell in the bathroom. #room12
The view and the respectfulness of the staff.
The place could have been better maintained.
i liked the view you have from this hotel, walking distance to the little mall area and crown port, overall great experience. staff was helpful and nice
there is no beach, small pool with limited chairs to relax, no smoke detectors in the rooms
