Windward Passage Hotel  

Great place, very comfortable for an overnight n either end of a sailing trip.

Hotel: Nothing Booking.com: I paid for a reduced rate oceanside room, but the hotel received a reservation for a standard room.

I asked specifically for a renovated room when I did my booking and they put us in an old fashion room. This is the first time it happened. I have stayed before and ask for modern rooms and they always accomodate to my request.

It was convenient, for what we had to do, very nice rooms. We went in the beginning of the off season, so It really wouldn't be fair to judge to harshly. The staff members I dealt with were wonderful.

Not being able to get a cup of coffee, before 8 am, and no place to go in reasonable walking distance, but I'm a heavy coffee drinker.

The property was old and well worn. In need of repair and updated.

Most of the staff was very friendly (with exception of one woman at the reception desk). Had a problem with the dryer in our room and the response from housekeeping was outstanding.

Room was a bit shopworn--carpet felt dirty and bath showed plenty of wear and tear.

We loved everything from it.The front desk to the employees.this is our second time in the hotel.

Absolutely no hotel information in room and hard to obtain it. Mediocre food and restricted bar with no drinks menu. Food and drink were poor value for money. A walk in shower and no tub would have been much better in the small bathroom

Convenience to the airport, and ability to walk to shops and restaurants. Secure parking/facility, amenities, friendliness/helpfulness of staff.

Air conditioner didn't work. They only took $20.00 off the total. Wouldn't go back

there was no blow dryer in the room...when i pay over 200 for one night i would like to be able to blow dry my hair

Service. Reception slow, restaurant awful. Slowest and most inefficient breakfast we can remember. The people there clearly hated their job.

Windward Passage has long been a convenient layover in St Thomas as part of our trip from Boston to Tortola.

Location

Location - we flew in to St. Thomas late afternoon. Stayed overnight and took the morning ferry to Tortola. The hotel is walking distance to the ferry.

Checking in was terribly slow. Two people at the desk and a few customers still took way too much time.

Location and and cost. The staff was friendly and helpful.

It was very convenient, close to the ferry, close to town, and within walking distance for all. It was also self contained.....good food, bar, shops, etc.

We just needed 2 separate overnight stays in St Thomas as our main destination was the BVI via the ferry. Hotel is easy walk from the ferry terminal.

The 1st night we were there was Carnival - loud band playing. Also that night our room faced the street & there was lots of street noise. Had different room on our return - noise was not a problem.
