Big Rooms. Multi socket powerpoint is provided.
Bathroom taps and shower need to be changed to reflect hot and cold water. Floor carpet should be changed to just wooden or laminated flooring for hygiene purposes, soft room slippers should be given for every room. There should be more power points in the room. A wired cable for internet should be provided in every room. Sound insulation could be improved by using double or vacuum glazed windows.
It is central close to most sites and the river
Bed a bit soft
Very close to the hub of everything, good restaurants in the hotel and nearby. There is good shopping nearby. Wonderful buffet breakfast and a nice gym and inexpensive massage in the hotel. Really liked that they had a minibar, teapot and a bowl of fruit. Staff is very helpful.
The location is excellent and came back after my stay there a year ago. Although it is still good, this hotel has come down a notch from what I remember. Next year I will more likely change for another hotel, to my sadness.
It needs an overhaul in general.the building deserves it.
the hotel was lovely, and vert good views looking over the square.
the noise of scooters out side, late at night.
Accomodation was excellent, people friendly, service well organised
Clean and comfortable
Breakfast at hotel mostly for non-muslim food. Luckily i asked the waiter..
very good breakfest, good location, nice and helpful staff
view from window
Super char my historical hotel with friendly staff and good price.
Lovely large room on the third floor with small balcony overlooking the Opera House.
Bathroom is in need of an upgrade, although it was perfectly fine, and double glazing needed especially with major railway works nearby. But this did no pose a problem for me.
street front recontrukcion from 7,15 AM to 8,30 AM - very bad joke...
- location is great - the staff tried their best
- requested a car which did not show up - the baby cot had iron bars which was kind of scary and uncomfortable. - breakfast was mediocre
Beautiful, elegant rooms with a great sitting area. Loved warmth of the wood throughout the room and it's central location. Breakfast was fantastic and the beds were the most comfortable of all we experienced in Vietnam.
Limited plug-ins for recharging
Go fast the day this hotel will be take over by a corporate business then it will be so expensive that only a few could stay For me theone of the best hotel in the world for the one who love history charm and a laid back feeling
Good location clean old world style but lovely hotel very central
Extremely poor customer service - when trying to order room service I had to call 3 different numbers and was hung up on twice. In the end I had to go down to reception who were also completely disinterested and unapologetic. The room was noisy due to the busy location next to the opera house and no attempt at soundproofing. The central courtyard was far from the quiet, relaxing oasis shown on the photos. All furniture was stacked up and loud "r&b" music playing in the background. I believe they use the courtyard for evening events (weddings etc) more than for residential guests to enjoy. We stayed in a suite and it was not quite up to standard - curtains did not close properly, bathroom had seen better days and no table / chairs on the balcony to sit and enjoy the view.
Room size was very good, staff very accomodating. The breakfast options were also great. Easy walking distance to the market, Rex Hotel and shopping centres. Also far enough away from the major construction going on at the moment.
The gym is not really a gym, a few very old treadmills that hardly worked. The bathroom was also a little tired as it is an old hotel and could be updated.
Not much, it looked good from the outside, that was about it.
We got an awful room, nothing like shown on the internet. Staff reaction was offhand, they said it was a deluxe room. It was 60's vintage with a terrible bathroom, dowdy decor, not clean. When I said it was nothing like on the website #1, they didn't know their own web address #2 the computers at reception didn't work #3 we went to another PC in the lobby, when they eventually found the picture they said those rooms are on the 3rd floor and they didn't have any. Then they said it was a star hotel - well, I'vestayed in 1 star with a better room. I really found the continual grinning of the guy so annoying. Anyway, after a lot of complaining, when we got back from dinner, they said they upgraded us to a junior suite - actually it wasn't a suite at all, just the same size as the one we had before but with a newer carpet and modern bathroom - still not like the room we thought we had booked
This hotel has lost its grandeur. It is beautiful but rooms bit old and food not great.
We loved the location and the architectural bones of this gorgeous old hotel. As we were only in Saigon for 2 nights, it was near all we had planned to see while there. We loved Le Bourgeoris Restaurant in the Hotel and enjoyed a very delicious dinner there with a friendly young waitress. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean.
We thought the décor of the bedroom and bathroom (at least the one we were in, superior suite) to be tired, we also thought the bathroom for such a grand old hotel to be quite ordinary. We also thought the atrium garden restaurant (where we had breakfast)with 100 year old frangipani trees to also be tired and not having the enchanting atmosphere we had read so much about. Having made all these negative remarks we did enjoy our stay at the Continental, we just hope on a future visit the interior (excluding the Le Bourgeoris restaurant) has had a 'Grand' facelift to match it's Grand exterior!
Loved the hotel decor and bed very comfy.
The service could have been better at check in. We'd stayed at multiple hotels throughout the country and the friendliness of the receptionist at this one was by far the worst and a little disappointing. We didn't however let it spoil our stay.
Central to shopping and Opera Centre. Enjoyed sitting on balcony overlooking the Opera Centre and people watching.
Roadworks in the downtown area.
Location, traditional features of the hotel (high ceilings), breakfast in the courtyard, most of the staff were very helpful
Bathrooms are becoming quite dated Had booked a room with a balcony onto the garden, but was told when we arrived none were available...end of story
good location stylish (old style rooms)
Old room with bathroom from the 1970s, a little smelly, beware of "deals" that offer rooms near the courtyard if there is a wedding celebration
