The rooms look like they have been recently refurbished and are very comfortable. Nice crisp cotton sheets and a nice duvet made for a good nights sleep . Cool bathroom as well
I and my husband traveled through Vietnam for our honeymoon and stayed in the Hotel de l'Opera while in Hanoi. First, the facilities and culinary options are impeccable. I highly recommend getting a room that includes breakfast as it is totally worth it. A full menu of made-to-order items as well as a nicely put together buffet. We had the Grand Suite, and I cannot recommend it highly enough if it is available. The views of the Opera house and the palatial layout of the room are but a few of the reasons to splurge on this. Finally, the staff: most professional, attentive, and dedicated I've experienced in a bigger hotel. Sure, if you have a boutique place, it's possible to make every guest feel special. But it's a real trick when you're running a hotel this size (it's not huge, but certainly isn't boutique either). The management - Alberto in particular - were completely on top of it. I really have to thank Alberto in particular for making our stay beyond memorable. I can't wait for a return visit, and would highly recommend this hotel.
Rooms on first floor and hear the noise from corridor and the street. bed too soft.
Great location Friendly and helpful staff Very clean The food at the cafe (french) was great (tried it for lunch and dinner)
Wifi was very slow Temperature control for the shower water was not working well (either too hot or too cold)
Close to key part of the city and can walk everywhere easily. Service from staff was excellent.
Super comfortable bed and dressing gown, great toiletries and beautiful room. Staff and room service very good, and location perfect.
Slightly high price but may be the time of year (NY).
Staffs helpfulness, the breakfast, and the grand suites' view!
Wifi was a tad slow, but when not a bisiness trip we just enjoyed hanoi.
Excellent breakfast buffet.....you can't ask for more variety!
The staff at the recepción manages a very poor English, which makes comunication quite difficult. Although very kind & making big efforts to accommodate people's needs.
Hotel is in a great location, very close to the opera. The rooms are comfortable, well-equipped with an interesting design. High quality food in both restaurants and a delicious breakfast.
Hotel holds a five-star standard, but it is a Little tired. This is particularly visible in the reception, but also in the rooms- damaged wallpaper, scratched mirror frame. Nevertheless, the quality and the equipment is high. There is no a full range of spa. Massage can be made only in your room. Hotel does not have its massage therapists, brought them from the city. In spite of this, our stay was very pleasant.
Happy hour and breakfast
Worse value ever on tapas tree bar snack
Restuarant prices Cld b lower to compete wth cheap places all around. Very poor tapas deal at happy hour no value at all for price
everything, especially the 24/7 demand-anything customer service and the room.
breakfast could be improved. this is not to say it wasn't very nice but was probably the least impressive part of the experience (apart from the wifi but you don't book a place like this to sit online).
Excellent breakfast buffet. Very helpful staff
Beds are much to high for short people.
Location in the city center, good breakfast, Wi-Fi OK
very small pool, not possible to enjoy at the pool, because there is not enough room; stuff very superficial
Very spacious rooms (we were granted an upgrade) Very well designed hall with bar and restaurants with good food and drinks A very comfortabel retreat in a busy city
The windows could not really be opened (5 cm) and the regulation of the water temperature in the shower was a bit tricky, but these are minor concerns.
Location Friendly Staff
The breakfast was not too much to choose from.
Location and friendly staff
On one night they had problems in the Bar. It was very slow service and other guest were getting quite upset as well. We did return for another stay and this issue was sorted out and Bar staff were more efficient.
The location, facilities and the staff were excellent
The breakfast was a major disappointment with a poor selection of items when compared with the 'sister' property The Metropole.
Great location, and ok restaurant downstairs
For a five star hotel this disappoints. The rooms are funky if a little poorly designed. House keeping is also very average.
Very stylish and excellent service. Great location.
The location Good restaurant but pricey (especially wine: much more expensive than in the infinitely-superior 5-star Sofitel Plaza we also stayed in).
The room: Gloomy, shabby decor: still dark when all the lights turned on; faulty hairdryer; huge, uncomfortable armchair missing a castor; generally cheap-looking mish-mash of bedroom furniture incl. Plasticky stacker chair for the dressing table; curtain dividing bathroom/WC from bedroom. Needed total refurb. The hotel: Tiny indoor pool on north!!! Side of hotel so the half dozen sunbeds on the narrow balcony-cum- terrace never got sun. Uncomfortable seating in hotel bar. BOOKING.COM: We were booked in for a further three nights after a trip to Hoi An but opted to forego our prepaid booking because so unhappy with the hotel. My travelling companion (Dr John Crosbie) and I have both used Booking.com for some years and travelled a lot but we got little support from them when we made detailed complaint to Hotel de L'Opera. Just passed on manager's dismissive 'it's all a matter of taste' response. Probably will book thro another agency next month when off to Spain.
Loved the location cos in the middle of business district. Walking distance to famous backpackers paradise or luxury malls
The twin beds is too high. Need more brighter lights.
Except the heights of the sofa seatings in the Lautrec restaurant which are much to low for comfort.
The hotel is by far one of the best we stayed in on our travels to Vietnam. It was a last minute deal and we got a free room upgrade. The building is beautiful and the rooms are excellent with the ensuite's being particularly stylish. Loved it.
