Score from 236 reviews Very good
Very stylish and excellent service. Great location.
The location Good restaurant but pricey (especially wine: much more expensive than in the infinitely-superior 5-star Sofitel Plaza we also stayed in).
The room: Gloomy, shabby decor: still dark when all the lights turned on; faulty hairdryer; huge, uncomfortable armchair missing a castor; generally cheap-looking mish-mash of bedroom furniture incl. Plasticky stacker chair for the dressing table; curtain dividing bathroom/WC from bedroom. Needed total refurb. The hotel: Tiny indoor pool on north!!! Side of hotel so the half dozen sunbeds on the narrow balcony-cum- terrace never got sun. Uncomfortable seating in hotel bar. BOOKING.COM: We were booked in for a further three nights after a trip to Hoi An but opted to forego our prepaid booking because so unhappy with the hotel. My travelling companion (Dr John Crosbie) and I have both used Booking.com for some years and travelled a lot but we got little support from them when we made detailed complaint to Hotel de L'Opera. Just passed on manager's dismissive 'it's all a matter of taste' response. Probably will book thro another agency next month when off to Spain.
Loved the location cos in the middle of business district. Walking distance to famous backpackers paradise or luxury malls
The twin beds is too high. Need more brighter lights.
Except the heights of the sofa seatings in the Lautrec restaurant which are much to low for comfort.
The hotel is by far one of the best we stayed in on our travels to Vietnam. It was a last minute deal and we got a free room upgrade. The building is beautiful and the rooms are excellent with the ensuite's being particularly stylish. Loved it.
Response by management to lack of use of restaurant due to conference
The location is excellent and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was appealing and good. The staff was very attentive and polite.
We stayed here two times within seven days (3 nights...prepaid). The WiFi was unusable at any of the desks in the rooms that they showed us. I either had to stand just inside the door or sit at the head of the bed to get any internet service. The A/C could not keep up with the heat.
Location was good close to lake and opera house ,room was good size with a great big bed ,great breakfast selection and coffee in house
Limited sun loungers at pool area
The staff was very polite and attentive. The location was excellent and quite central. The Breakfast buffet was fresh with many choices, both hot and cold and the coffee was rather good.
The WiFi was extremely spotty. We tested three different rooms and was not able to use the provided desks to put our laptop on, as the reception in each room was near zero at the desks. Standing just inside the entrance doors always worked as did right up against the bed headboards. The A/C couldn't keep up with the outdoor heat when the hotel got more full.
Interior decor is a bit off the wall though a lot of fun. Bedrooms are ecclectic and the beds are very high (you have to jump to get on them) and very comfortable. Well worth it!
Location, facilities were excellent, food exceptional and bedroom huge
That wi-fi was not included and cost additional
very flexible, accommodating staff
smoking allowed in restaurant, bar poor foreign language skills of staff
Great location Boutique hotel ambiance Best ice cream in Vietnam 30 sec from Hotel ;-) Spacious and design rooms I recommend, no doubt!
Average dinner Average Pool No real view, you can leave the curtains closed...
Top notch service and very attentive staffs making our stay a pleasant and memorable one. The breakfast were very delicious especially the ones on the ala carte menu. Location is also very strategic and convenient.
The wifi was a bit weak in our room (No. 406)
The room was very comfortable, as was the bathroom. Staff were incredibly helpful, they really did make sure that we were looked after throughout our stay. They couldn't have been more helpful. The pool and sun lounger area was also really pleasant, although very small so perhaps best used at quiet times.
Our room was on the sixth floor, one room above the smoking floor, and we could smell cigarette smoke through the air conditioning very strongly at one point. Also check there isn't an event on - the music made it impossible to be in our room as there is only single glazing above the courtyard. Although this was finished by 8.30pm, it meant we had to leave our room for a chunk of time which was annoying.
Excellent location and friendly staff. Could not stay
Could not stay longer.
-limited variety of food in breakfast, no white bread and pastries -my early request for quite room was ignored -rude hotel staff. They never bothered reply to a simple "good morning"! Only a shake of the head and a frozen smile! Upon my late in the evening arrival they insisting to tell them the exact hour of my departure! How rude is that
Rooms were amazing
Great beds ..thought this was a great hotel in every way
The swimming pool it was indoors
The breakfasts were amazing
Great location in nice part of Hanoi with good restaurants within walking distance. The tour guide in kiosk near opera house very good for private tours. Hotel staff very friendly and willing to help. My room was top floor at back of hotel - no balcony, no view but quiet and good air con. Funky french art nouveau styling in room with massive very comfortable bed. Daily delivery of local news from home a nice touch. The restaurant was very good with option for set price two or three course meals good value. Make sure your booking includes breakfast.
Wireless internet was unreliable. Sure its free but it needs to work or else please offer a reliable paid option instead.
Very comfortable suites and luxury feeling. Modern but not too extreme like some other design hotel. If you like Lux and Design I would say this is the best Choice in town!
Part of the room (such as a sliding door or some light) were not working anymore due to an apparently not too good maintenance…what a pity especially when you stay in a suit of such nice hotel!
Everything about this hotel is amazing! From the decor of the entire hotel, to the room service, cleanliness of the rooms, staff expertise...We had booked 1 night & then booked 3 additional nights at this hotel! highly recommend staying a night!
limited space for taxi drivers to pickup/drop off..but really there is nothing we didnt like about this hotel!
Loved the big bed
