The pavement being ripped up at the front entrance
Lovely building and inner court with pool Quiet comfortable rooms Great breakfast included Great roof top cafe
Quality of service - staff were not very efficient or knowledgeable and cleaners showed up before checkout, no welcome fruit - just the plate. Suspect the staff to guest ratio too low. Front of hotel being dug up with poor access for people and luggage. We stayed at the Metropole in Hanoi as a comparison
Really good value for money. A luxury hotel that offered a fantastic room and breakfast
Really like the personable greetings and the attitude of all the team never saw a grumpy face and always a smile and welcome.Location is superb breakfast was complete and bed firm and comfortable.
bacon at breakfast was dry and chewy but that may just be the way in vietnan
Excellent location and value for money. I will staying there again in a few weeks that will make it 4 times that I have stayed there.
The food on the 20th floor
The hotel staff were very welcoming and always willing to help out. Location was very good being in a quieter part of town but within walking distance of many sights.
The wifi on 15 floor room 1502 was non existent. The spa staff were very pushy, don't be pressured by them. Be very clear about what you want and make sure you get it all.
We loved everything about this hotel, great location, fabulous staff,
Staff are slow in checking out took me almost 25 min. Breakfast has a lot of foods but the same every morning
We had enjoyed our stay up until checking out. On the surface it seemed like we where being taken care of but in acual fact what really is happening is that all guests are seen as potential lifters of hotel room manchester. This is my third trip to Vietnam and I have never experienced anything like this hotel. I have stayed in so many types of accommodation in Vietnam and will wont be staying in a hotel like this again.
We stayed two nights and after our first night, the room was serviced. When we checked out, a final room check was done and we where told that one face washer was missing from our room. I remember leaving a wet face washer in the shower on the first night but didn't use it on the second night as I washed with a face wipe. So I didn't realise a face washer was missing. Clearly what happened was that the cleaning staff took it and didn't replace it. Upon checkout there was no right of appeal for us and we were deemed face washer stealers and we had to pay for the missing washer. It was never in the hotels opinion that housekeeping may have been at fault. Very unfair!!!
The hotel has an old style charm about it. Excellent location. Nice pool with comfy loungers. Good breakfast.
The travel operator tried to rip us off by overcharging compared to published rates, relying on confusion to hope I didn't notice. I had to threaten to go to the travel agent across the road before he agreed to correct the price. He later apologized and said he was trying to get some extra money for the guide (who we later tipped as a personal choice as he was great)
It is good hotel and very nice staff
The breakfast was just superb.
Comfort Spa Swimming Pool F&B staff friendliness
Receptionists (front desk) need to learn how to smile Breakfast is good but no variation throughout the week
Beds are great, very comfortable Great view from roof too bar
Reception staff were polite but unfriendly and particularly unhelpful. They kept giving me conflicting information. Bread and pastries at buffet breakfast were stale. Yes it's a small thing but I expected more from this hotel
Staff Were Great And Helpful Friendly
Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable with a great breakfast buffet. It was only a few minutes walk to the opera house and Notre Dame church, so in a very good position for getting out and about. Staff were brilliant. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Good air conditioning, nice facilities, spa visit was great. Staff responsive and everything one would want and more choices for breakfast. In the best part of town and good choice and price of tours from the hotel.
Large room Seperate shower cubicle Excellent wifi in room Wide selection of foods at Buffet Breakfast Heated outdoor large pool Daily fresh fruit in room
The sweet pastries & the coffee at breakfast The pebbles around the pool
broad spectrum of food to satisfy any foreign or local guests for breakfast.
room tea making service in most of Vietnam is minimal choice and certainly no milk (UHT) cartons in room or fridge. However, there is a mart opposite the Grand so l guess l just meet the locals for a small price to pay for milk!
Good location, nice lobby and other facilities, 24 hour reception.
Took 1 hour to check in after error after error, meaning I was late to meet my clients. Terrible standard of housekeeping, didn't pick up my laundry when I asked, didn't return it until late, missed some clothes out and had to do the next day, very poor cleaning of the rooms; left rubbish there and didn't replace the amenities. No culpability, the staff will say sorry to you many times, but not actually tell the GM or Duty Manager, therefore nobody resolves your issues. I was told sorry probably about 10-20 times in 3 days, and had them making mistake after mistake, but no Manager/GM/Guest relations came and discussed any issues with me and I was offered absolutely no compensation, not even free laundry after the mistakes they made!!! Overall the staff are nice but a bit weak. They don't tell the managers about any issues because they don't want to be responsible for anything, also the management is very poor and if they are not being told about the problems, then they are not managing correctly. Plus the 'Old Wing' rooms are terrible, 2* star standard, moldy and damp. I feel really let down and I have really wasted my money (close to $100 a night), you can get far far better places close by for less.
central location in district 1, spacious hotel and rooms, very well presented, within walking distance of markets, restaurants, shops & other attractions. The staff were very friendly & massages were freely available. We spent every evening by the pool drinking cocktails so our holiday was very relaxing. Pool service was excellent as was the breakfast. We were only in Saigon for 3 days so only spent one night at the restaurant. Great view and great food. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a relaxing time and to families as there is a pool for the kids and lots to do nearby.
Breakfast was really good
The running belts in the gym were a little bit old but still working, not a big problem :)
Good pool and breakfast. New wing of hotel is fine - no complaints
Photos of heritage rooms are not what you get. Management tried to provide us with a room the size of a closet that was actually a spare bedroom attached to the suite next door. The toilet seat in our marble bathroom had been broken and glued back together! Very disappointing. Would not stay here again.
Excellent location, service, I would like to have more time to stay longer...
We stayed only for 1 night...
