Rooms were adequate, furniture and fittings a bit dated. Bathroom was good. Staff were professional but a little detatched. Breakfast buffet was also good.
The area was very highly touristed and it was difficult to find authentic food in the area.
Good location and excellent facility
wi-fi not existing every time you have to go in the lobby to communicate........crazy staff not nice I will never come back
Grand suite very spacious Very good location Nice pool and surroundings Friendly Staff Nice terrace at the top floor.
Breakfast was just OK.
The hotel is grand in name and grand in nature. Location is great, beds are comfortable, wifi worked regularly, breakfast was excellent. The massages at the Hotel's spa were fantastic.
No complaints or concerns.
Practically everything - as large hotels go
The room we eventually agreed to was ok but at least cheaper. Kids room had no windows.Excellent beds,AC and WiFi.Pool itself good to swim in.
Despite booking 7 months prior ,special request on booking.com and emails we didn't get the correct bed configuration and suite for a family. Secondly we got overcharged on our credit card $1000 because of pre-authorisation issues Took a few days for hotel to answer my emails Breakfast was pretty well the poorest in our 3 weeks in Vietnam Rocks around pool terrible
location is the only good thing about this hotel
the staff is not friendly at breakfast you have to wait because there are too many people and when you can get in, they put you at a table with other people without asking them or us at our floor there were people always eating in the evening in the corridor so all night the durty dishes were on the ground in the corridor and of course also a cockroach in the morning also during breakfast when I was waiting for my eggs, I saw a cockroach on the plates the comfort of the room is quite poor and the beds are very hard this hotel isn't worth a 4 star
Room is nice looking and very comfortable and clean. The pool is decently comfortable. Tanning is not really possible as it is in the courtyard.
The breakfast is large in volume, but also in guests and the quality of food is only decent.
The welcome, the fact that I was able to check in well in advance of the normal time and the tours were well organised
Noise due renovations
Breakfast is good Swimmingpool area nice
The room was nice. As was the pool.
The first hotel in 3 weeks to give no help with bags and not show us to our room (kinda was frustrating as the signs didn't have our room number on them so there was some pointless lugging bags around). Since it was new years eve we weren't allowed on the rooftop bar without a reservation, this is understandable, but an email to let us know this before hand would have been nice, or even to let us up for a drink before the exclusive part started. It was pretty disappointing as we had booked this hotel especially for the rooftop bar. Oddly enough at this the most expensive hotel for our honeymoon we received the worst service. Not horrible service just not as good as everywhere else.
Good location and staff service
At times no hot water for shower.
We stayed here 4 years ago and loved it. So we had to stay again while in Saigon. We were very disappointed. It was a beautiful old hotel with very helpful, friendly staff, now it is a cookie cutter modern hotel you can find in any big city. The staff was too busy to even say good morning.
Nice, clean room, nice bathroom, great breakfast, perfect location, if you insist on a quiet room the stay could be nice.
we wanted to have a nice romantic stay in the end of our Vietnam journey and stayed there for 2 nights, we decided to take a room with a window to the inner court to have a quiet room: in the first evening there was suddenly loud party music in our room, every romantic atmosphere was destroyed (party in the 12 th floor, the staff member promised there wouldn`t be a party on the next day dec 31 st) Dec 31 st: we had loud techno music in our room (party 12th floor) starting in the evening (around 6 pm), any relaxing atmosphere was destroyed, we decided to flee into a restaurant in town. It was the most expensive accommodation during our journey (we had rooms from 10 USD – 220 USD/night/2 persons) and we had the loudest room during the whole journey in the Grand Hotel Saigon. It was a big disappointment.
The breakfast was bad. Food was not appetizing, Music during breakfast was inappropriate. Coffee was BAD!!!
Good location and well appointed room.
Staff in most areas of the hotel, particularly at Reception, had a rather indifferent attitude and showed no particular interest, care or service. The hotel caters for large numbers of tour groups which made breakfast and the small pool particularly crowded. The tour groups and high turn over probably contributes to the impersonal attitude of many of the staff. The wifi connection was weak or at times didn't work at all in our room.
It's a grand old hotel from the 1930s, now mostly modernized to contemporary standard. The staff is pleasant and facilities good. They have kept one section as a charming "old" wing, which I found to be an enjoyable and calm place to stay, overlooking the Hotel swimming pool.
Errors several times by the Front Desk in communicating with taxi drivers who seem to be assigned to the Hotel were very frustrating. Several times I found that the taxi driver drove off from the Hotel, with me in the taxi, without having a clear idea where I wanted to be taken and poor English language communication skills. It led to serious delays in my getting to appointments on time.
Cannot complain about anything at this hotel - we had a very pleasurable stay and the staff were very helpful and friendly
We had an enjoyable stay for three nights. The rooms we were given was a free upgrade and very spacoius. The staff were polite and their english was good. Facilities are good, the pool and the rooftop bar are worth the extra you pay. Overall we would recommend it for a short stay.
The gym was in need of some tlc as most of the machines were out of order. There were no towels available in the gym for showering and you had to get them from from the pool next door. On the last day we felt rushed over our breakfast by the manager telling us we only had ten minutes left before we had to leave, probably lost in translation but not really what you expect.
- colonial style (book a pool side room, not one in the tower) - styleful interior of the room - great bed - good breakfast - location - staff
You get what you pay here! A nice, clean, comfortable hotel in a central location. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Nice pool if you fancy a break from the city
Wi fi in the room was not the quickest but it worked.
Large selection of both Asian and Western for breakfast Spa experience superb.
Attitude of Food & Beverage Manager Mr Chung when we lodged a complaint about room service - he didn't want to know and was unwilling to offer any discount. He also hustled everyone at breakfast to finish at 9.30am it was very annoying.Pool area needs to be supervised with regard to the behaviour of children using the pool. WiFi is dreadful drops out every few mins
WiFi is working properly in the reception area only
