The location was perfect, on the famous shopping street with many featured bars, restaurants and tea houses around. The swimming pool was a big plus to our stay, and we definitely enjoyed the hotel architecture! The staffs were friendly and helpful
The only downside was the breakfast, not a 4 star breakfast
It's grand style.
The staff were very helpful and smiley but always very discreet
Great location, good facilities, nice breakfast, lovely pool, plenty of small restaurants nearby, walking distance to most sights
Location was good in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
Our room smelled funny. Beds were ok at the best. Rooftop bar had very poor service, and was overall a disappointment.
Very nice hotel. We stayed in the colonial part which had much more character than the newer 'luxury' end. Nice pool although only a few sunbeds got sunlight through the day because it's situated in a courtyard so there is a lot of shading. Excellent breakfast.
Quite a small pool considering the size of the hotel and it got busy with people trying to chase the sun! An additional roof top pool would ease the pressure and get more sunlight. This hotel is VERY popular with big tour groups. We were a couple travelling independently and didn't really enjoy the feeling of being in a package holiday type resort. However, it is a very nice hotel and good value for money.
There were so many things to like about the Grand Hotel. The Buffet Breakfast was excellent and served in a very Elegant restaurant. The variety would cover most or ALL tastes. Staff very good, Excellent free use of Business Centre
Like lovely hotel stayed at the beginning and end of our month long vietnam trip. We got upgraded both times which was a lovely surprise to us. Everything at this hotel is lovely breakfast, staff and location.
Room was a good size, bed very comfortable. Great Location.
Lovely extensive breakfast and pool. Well appointed room overlooking Saigon river.
the swimming pool and pool bar provided a relaxing break from bustle of central Saigon.
Really enjoyed everything about our stay here. Our wonderful double room suite was located in the traditional side of the original hotel built in 1930. There was a distinct opulent feel of a by-gone era within this side of the building that we loved. The rooms were great, as was the service and staff. Great buffet breakfast included. We had many a tasty meal up on the 20th floor of the new part of the hotel, at the Rooftop Grand Cafe. The view from the Cafe was also well worth a look, especially at night. Location was terrific near river and on the main shopping, restaurant and sightseeing strip. Would highly recommend staying here.
Nothing not to like.
Check-in process was quick and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable. Wifi fast and easy to connect. Breakfast was OK, with a large selection of food available.
Was delayed by a day with our airline. Checked in and God a upgrade to a suite. Was beautiful room wished had longer.
Nothing great location.
Breakfast room was like a Mensa, coffee was awe full and cappuccino was for expensive
The roomy was well fitted out with usual facilities including a bath. The pool was a great way to relax at the end of the day.
The breakfast was a bit ordinary. There wasn't any muesli and the remainder of cereal included coco pops and sugary selections.
Situated in the centre of district one was very convenient. While there was a mix up with the room we booked it was resolved efficiently by the hotel. Staff very very helpful and considerate.
Nice and comfortable rooms (ours had a nice view of the river) in a a great location. Ample breakfast but crowded.
Crowded at breakfast. Sometimes had to wait and were asked to share our small table with a family of four. Busy front desk and lobby staff seemed overwhelmed so personal service cannot be expected.
Location . Great main shopping street minutes away from Opera. You can walk everywhere.
Ugly old fashioned furniture. Mis matching curtains in my room, dim light in the bathroom, mattress maybe made of straw(?) smelly wardrobe , and an impossible safe that even a bank robber couldn't get into! Un - friendly reception staff and breakfast room head waiters.
We stayed here at the start of our Honeymoon in December and found the whole hotel to be very clean and impressive. You can't really tell the difference from the older part of the hotel to the newer, our room was in the older part and was more than big enough for the 2 of us and the bathroom even had 2 showers! Not really sure why as we only used the walk in one and not the one over the bath. The breakfasts were buffet style and I enjoyed my omelettes and there is a good selection of Western and Asian foods.
The opening hours of the roof top bar could do with being increased though as it opens in mid afternoon and shuts again around 23:00.
Comfortable room and excellent facilities including pool and rooftop bar (with Happy Hour!). Good breakfast included.
What appeared to be a traditional colonial hotel had a large modern extension with little character. Next time would choose the Continental (next to the Opera House),
Good buffet. Responsive staff. Concierge recommended a great tour on New Years Day with Siva as an English guide. He was fantastic.
Massage was just ok. Not firm enough pressure for deep tissue.
Beautiful hotel, excellent position room good, comfortable beds, high standard of cleanliness.
On arrival my wife asked if there was a designated outside smoking area (we do not expect inside areas). She were ttold by the duty manager 'This is a 100 per cent smoke free hotel and was then told 'did she not know smoking is not good for her' So very unprofessional and downright rude. Fortunately all other staff were very good. The breakfast was also very disappointing very little western choices
My Girlfriend which is vietnamness cannot even visit me in the hotel room. That's is not flexible
Rooms were adequate, furniture and fittings a bit dated. Bathroom was good. Staff were professional but a little detatched. Breakfast buffet was also good.
The area was very highly touristed and it was difficult to find authentic food in the area.
