Breakfast on the roof and and room was outstanding
Construction smell in hallway. Not sure what they were doing but during the day could smell paint or turpentine. Nothing at night. Building going on next to hotel. Still outstanding hotel
Central location Facilities good
Old hotel so needed some maintenance We had a river view room, this also meant a very busy road view, unable to sit out on balcony. The road in front of hotel was impossible to cross due to volume of traffic
Rooftop cafe/restaurant/bar, overlooking Saigon river was fantastic. Room was very comfortable. The hotel staffs treated us very nice and we were impressed of their service quality. Excellent location, too. I will come back again for sure.
There are not many to complain. If the water pressure at the shower/bath, it would be better. Since the hotel is 5-star, this is quite important.
Excellent Hotel with helpful, friendly staff. Great food, buffet breakfast amazing. Room was very roomy and comfortable
The perfect combination of old world history w all the conveniences of today. The staff was great and the attention to detail was great. Jim Kerouack
The staff were great. Friendly and not over the top polite. We arranged a tour of the Cu Chi tunnels through the hotel. For about $80US we got an A/C car and driver (Mr Wong) great man and a guide, Tre, He was fantastic and highly recommend. Knowledgeable, funny and a great guide
Having to pay for the use of a computer in the foyer. Every other place we have stayed has free access to a computer in the foyer.
The placement, is in District 1 and next to tourist points.
I need a bag to keep a pair of shoes, usually I take the laundry bag. Although firstly I doubted about taking it, finallly I used to keep my shoes because there was no other plastic bag. The thing is that when we were doing the check out I was asked about the laundry bag, I explained that I have used it and that it was in my luggage, then they asked me 5 usd for the laundry bag because it is made in fabric. I was like...WHAAAAAAT?? Obviously I paid them but it seems incredible that a 5 star hotel makes their guests pay for a laundry bag. Very ugly and rude detail. Apart from this, the hotel is not a big thing, yes the appeareance is quite imppressive but that's all. There are other hotels in the area at better price and better quality.
Great location on the river. Amazing rooftop bar with great views. The hotel spa is excellent and great value. Lovely courtyard pool and sun loungers. The staff could not be more helpful. We accidentally left our safe open in the day, the staff doing room service called a manager to write down all of the safe's contents and locked them away, very trustworthy. Fantastic breakfast on the roof, excellent food. Couldn't ask for more, a true 5*.
Colonial atmosphère with terrace, pool and gym.
Stayed there on the 1st 2 nights of a honeymoon, king suite which was huge, big jacuzzi in the bath room. Massive bed and a nice rose petal display awaited us. Breakfast had a large choice. Would stay there again
For old world charm the majestic can't be beat.
Everything - the entire hotel staff were so friendly and ready to help it was quite amazing. The standard of the hotel accommodation was excellent as was everything else about the hotel. Had 3 amazing days of pampering.
Nothing we did not like.
Location was good, Bell Staff was helpful
Hallways dim, room smelled especially the mini fridge, lobby smelled bad from strong cleaner, lobby staff was impersonal and gave poor restaurant recommendation
Staff very pleasant, hotel smart.
All extras such as mini bar and cafe very expensive.
Location was good, on the river and walking distance to attractions. Hotel was clean, well staffed and comfortable. Our suite was fairly cheap and lovely. Rooftop breakfast was awesome!
So many foreign tourists here it drives the price of surrounding services up. Laundry service was ridiculously expensive. Nearby restaurants were delicious but pricey.
Everything is fabulous about this hotel, people, service, infrastructure, location, willingness to help/assist the guests on whatever necessary. We spent a fantastic time in there. What makes the atmosphere even more exciting about the hotel is that most of the original architecture details are very well preserved and adapted to the modern needs.....it is visually very nice.
In my opinion there is no point to downgrade something that works and is being cared with so much attention.
Lovely, grande old hotel with original Art Deco features. Within walking distance of everything a visitor wants to see & do in Ho Chi Minh. Service was fabulous, the hotel staff were amazing with our children. The pool life guard gave our 5 year old a really practical swimming lesson that stuck with him throughout our travels in Vietnam. Food & cocktails were fabulous and our suite was awesome
Everything can not fault
Daily fruit and turn-down service were a nice touch.
Breakfast is a bit expensive all things considered.
Ambience, service, location. What more could you ask for. Classic old world Saigon.
Mr Coffee & Tea, Upgrade to Majestic Suite, "Fleur" the soul of the hotel, perfect service, breakfast not a wide selection, but of a high quality, colonial style & atmosphere
It was a touch of luxury both at the beginning and at the end of our tour of Vietnam. Hotel Majestic is in a great location on the river and all the main sights of HCMC are easily walkable from there. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful and literally, we wanted for nothing. Breakfast, served on the roof terrace, is a veritable feast with so much choice! For a hotel of this quality, comfort and location, we thought the room rate represented outstanding value for a very elegant, art deco room with a balcony over looking the road. We will most definitely stay there again next time we're in Ho Chi Minh City.
Don't listen to all the stories about airport taxis ripping you off. Just go on the taxi rank when you arrive and in our experience, all the taxis there are metered. Or fix the price with the driver before you set off. The most we've ever paid (from the airport) is $10.00 US. The cost of the hotel airport transfer is listed as $47.00 US . With Viator it's $45 US.The fare with Saigon Tours taxis RIGHT outside the hotel on the rank is $8.00. Work it out....
felt deserted, few guests
The hotel had charm and character and the staff were friendly and eager to please. Breakfast was great and the roof top bar was pretty good also - as were the band. Great value for money and great location. You can't go wrong if you choose this hotel.
