Excellent combination of both luxury and simplicity. The villas are spacious, very comfortable and well designed. The staff is well trained and very friendly. This place is ideal to rest and spend a quiet time close to nature while still having a very good comfort.
Nothing we did not like.
Clean relaxing hotel, great for getting away from it all.no mod cons in room but fantastic food and drinks. Great beach and staff and amazing sunsets.
It is a little more expensive than other places in Vietnam but you get what you pay for.
Beachside bungalows and restaurant next to the sea.
The hotel in general was alright, friendly and helpful staff. We could leave the hotel one night earlier than we booked before. Nice view at atmosphere at the hotel bar. Free cajak, diving masks and bikes for one hour.
Hotel runs under the label "eco-friendly", what is good but here it means: very very old and simple bungalows, old and broken sun chairs, free diving masks are pretty unclean. Food in the restaurant and bar has at least the double price like in the direct neighborhood. All together the whole place is nice but nothing special and for this too expensive. You can get much better places for less money. We were very disappointed and left the hotel earlier.
- The beach is gorgeous - Good food - Good cocktails - Friendly English speaking staff - Quiet - out of way of town - Spa staff really good - Not far from airport
- bed was hard - no bottled water in room (they leave one jug per day unless you order more) - mini bar not stocked unless you order it - Expensive for what you get in my opinion - staff service in restaurant can be slow, i sometimes felt overlooked
the beach, Arlin at the bar restaurant, excellent employee
sbake in the room Rats Poor service Use of the term Eco when they greet you with a plastic bottle of water 3% service charge for using a credit card when you really don't have any choice The worn out linens and beach chairs The ordinary breakfast The ridiculous price over $220 night US for a glorified camping experience
small resort about 35 bungalow, private beach, very clean, excellent cuisine
On driving through Duong Dong on the way to our hotel we were so relieved we had decided not stay there, it is a heaving mass of tourism and building projects, not the sleepy town we'd anticipated. We avoided it from then on, staying for three lazy days at Mango Bay. The Hotel is in an idyllic location on the beach, in peace and quiet, with great staff and very good food in both the restaurant and the beach bar. The yoga class on the beach is a great way to unwind, as is the excellent spa and massage facility. The bungalows all have great views and the whole resort is very pretty with low key landscaping.
The interiors are designed to be eco-friendly and rustically attractive, but somewhere along the way comfort has been sacrificed; we were knew there would be no air-con, and understand fully the environmental reasons for this, however we did not realise that mosquito nets act as a wind break, so despite the all fans, the inside of the mosquito tent was hot and sticky and we did not sleep as well as we'd hoped, but made up for this by snoozing in a hammock in the afternoons. Furthermore, the light level is really low in the rooms and bathrooms. Again we understand the reasons, but it was impossible to read, play cards, or put on make-up in the bathroom, bedroom or on the veranda. Better positioned lights, such as taller bedside lamps which illuminate the bed, not the floor, would improve the use of the room without requiring more power.
Mango bay is a wonderful idyllic place, we had toured South Vietnam and ended our stay with 6 fabulous nights here in plantation bungalow close to the sea and bar/restaurant it was a perfect location. The private beach & lounge grassed area was uncrowded a perfect place to really relax, unwind and enjoy the perfect sunny weather and sea. Our Villa was lovely with a great outside bathroom. The staff are happy, smiling and wonderful. Highly recommended if you want to relax. Blue Sea resort next door lovely too for a meal and a drink, the staff are very friendly. Thank you all at Mango Bay Beach resort.
A fridge would have been nice
The setting was amazing and the facilities were perfect for a romantic getaway. If you're after some quiet time with your partner, there is simply no better place to be. We were away for our 20th wedding anniversary and had a perfect blend of time together in our stunning bungalow combined with adventure. One day we hire a scooter and explored the northern part of the island - we had a ball!!
Our only issue would be the over supply of breads etc with each meal - especially breakfast. We thought it took away from the other lovely food offered.
Mango bay is a concept , an ecological one, in the middle of a wonderful forest. Apparently simple, is a very beautifull design and well planed resort. . Every detail is thoughtful, we simple loved staying there, enjoyed and relax. Its a great resort, staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is very good, at reasonable price, breakfast perfect .The sunsets unforgatable.
Staff were so attentive and friendly, and the food was amazing. We stayed in a rammed earth bungalow nestled amongst the trees, it was beautiful and super clean with a great outdoor bathroom area. The spa was great too. Such a peaceful place, highly recommended if you are looking for relaxation! We also had free airport and ferry transfers as a bonus!
Absolutely nothing - we had a fantastic stay, were sad to leave and will be back for sure!
Everything about this resort was perfect for us. We were upgraded to a beautiful private Plantation Bungalow and just had the most wonderful time relaxing in our bungalow and on the beautiful beach, and dining in the restaurant.
Loved the outdoor bathroom, mossie nets, shutters. Restaurant was great. Specials each night. Staff fabulous - there when you want them, unobtrusive when you don't. Activities available or veg out with a book.
The food never disappoint the whole 3 nights we stayed there, breakfast are amazing, good portion of bread basket and very healthy fruit basket. The staffs are very well trained, friendly and speaks good english. The bungalow unit we got are clean and they have housekeeping ladies to clean it daily.Try the hot stone massage at the spa for extra pampering. It is a bit further from the main tourist attraction/town but the resort have scheduled free shuttle services during the day if you decided to go to town. You can also ask the staff about trekking and snorkeling trip if you're bored but there's hardly anything to be bored when you can chill on the beach the whole day in peace.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Peaceful, friendly and helpful staff and idyllic location on the beach. Even though the place was full it didn't feel overly busy. We checked out a few other resorts and were pleased we chose Mango Bay.
Nothing. But be warned of noises at night in your hut!
Restaurant and service
Very nice restaurant Great, friendly staff Private beach
Little to noisy maideservants in the mornings Bet linen not very clean (even washed)
Everything from the staff friendliness and service to the quaint accommodation and well-being centre with a sea breeze was simply an unforgettable experience. I would like to thank management for going that extra mile to make our stay as flawless as possible.
Friendly staff Fantastic location Good food and drinks Nice, clean beach with lounge chairs, beach bar and free rental of snorkeling gear and other activities Bungalows with ocean view, outdoor shower and nice, comfortable bed We had a fantastic experience!
The beach, staff, food, services, tours, activities, cleanliness, these were all perfect!
The shower is not strong at all. During the night time many insects came into the room, a spider appeared one day, and a rat would appear from time to time.
The breakfast was just amazing with different options including a Vietnamese one that we got every morning. The beach is beautiful and quiet. The staff is helpful and friendly.
You will get the food at the hotel mainly because there is not much choice around it. It's an ecotourism type of resort so expect to find geckos, spiders and caterpillars once in a while.
Nice bungalows near the seaside, great breakfast, yoga&meditation lessons (for free), nice spa.. very relaxing! Perfect to forget the world outside!
Food was overpriced compared to the rest of Viet Nam, quality and choice need to be improved especially considering that guests have to eat dinner at the resort since there's nothing around in the area.
Amazing Beach Quiet and Peaceful Friendly Atmosphere
Bugs galore Friendly geckos No sealed windows, so anything can get in. If you're ok with that, this place is amazing.
