I think that this is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The room was huge and clean. The Bed was very comfortable. The room comes with a PC with internet. You've also got a nice TV with cable, a safe, mini bar, etc. The bathroom is of a decent size with a powerful shower and a tub. The staff at the hotel is really what makes the difference. They are friendly, helpful and courteous and they really are the main reason why I like this hotel more than any other place. Its great. The location of the hotel is also great for sightseeing. Its in the middle of the Old Quarter which in itself is a tourist attraction. Hoan Kiem Lake is literally 3 mins walk from the hotel. Plenty of eateries and cafes and shops nearby. There's really nothing much I can complain about. Overall a highly recommended hotel. |

The staffs are friendly and helpful. The rooms were huge and nicely decorated. The noise in the morning from the next door construction work which was pretty much unavoidable.Other than that, hotel is great. |

Good location, clean and pleasant. My wife wasn't thrilled that it's up a dingy alley but once in the hotel, her mood improved. That's the fundamental test, to me. Be clear that its a very small narrow hotel by Western standards. Rooms are well appointed but not large. I'd recommend it to friends travelling on a budget. I agree with others, get them to pick you up from airport/train station, because it's hard to locate. We were changed from one room to another and there were plumbing leaks in each bathroom. Their claims to provide guest parking (taxis can't drive up their narrow alley), airport shuttle (they organise a cab), business centre (that's the front desk), and restaurant (three tables in the foyer) are ridiculous, but nevertheless it's quite a pleasing hotel. |

My room was in the Splendid2 Hotel, was large and brand new, with large and nice flat lcd lg tv set, dvd player, air contitioning, fridge. The hotel staff gave me a discounted rate and provided free soft drinks and fruit to promote the new Splendid2 Hotel which was still being refined while I was staying there. In general the hotel staff was very helpful and kind. The hotel was not yet in an entirely functional state, several breakfast choices in the provided menu were not available, I had to wait to get breakftast more than usual, the phone was initially disconnected and lacking instructions, sometime there was no staff at the reception, sometimes it was not easy to communicate in english. The room was also smelling of fresh paint or just-out-of-the-factory furniture. |

This is a terrific choice for a conveniently located, friendly, and very clean hotel. I have stayed at many hotels in around 25 countries, and I cannot remember being so pleased with choosing a hotel as I was with Splendid Star Hotel. Save yourself lots of time trying to figure out where to stay in Hanoi, and trust the many, many people who have recommended this property. I am glad I did. |

We had booked a Supedrior room via an online booking and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Deluxe Double room. Nice room and importantly clean with the city and church view.... Toom at reception was very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay and highly recommended. |

Excellently located hotel in Hanoi. Looking for an affordable hotel in Hanoi that's Central, then this is it. Having stayed in Hanoi before, I knew I wanted something Central and thanks to all the reviewers on here, I booked the Splendid Star Hotel and was not disappointed. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, staff were very helpful and friendly. Ultimately the location was the best thing, 2 blocks from Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi Opera House, Ngoc Son Temple .... I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation and will plan to return again soon. |

Booked a stay here after reading previous recommendations, and wasn't disappointed. Tom was unbelievably helpful (definitely go to his restaurant recommendations), so were the rest of the staff. Only disappointed that we stayed for such a short stay. Will definitely be back!!!! Just difficult to find it at the first. |

I stayed here recently when going to a concert. The hotel is nearby JS' chuch and very quiet, so it was a great location to stay. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it! The rooms were clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone staying in Hanoi who like quiet in the center of city . |

We had a truly wonderful stay here, the hotel is very impressive and never really felt at all crowded. The Splendid Star hotel for us was perfect, so peaceful with very genuine & helpful staff. The room was a good size, very clean and tidy with fantastic views. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it. |

Stayed for 2 nights at Splendid Star hotel for business and have to admit that the location is good. Was upgraded to a suite as the normal rooms are not available and room looked nice and clean. The room is spacious given that it was a suite with living area. Service is good in the hotel as well as with staff being responsive. |

This is a great little jewel in the middle of Hanoi. Loved the place. Friendly service, great rooms and close to Hanoi attractions. The hotel is brand new and their service is still improving. Nevertheless, would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends. no complain, just happy |

The room is very nice, the staff is extremely friendly and the location is good. The best is the price, which is very low compared to what you get. It is quite difficult to find at the first time. |

Excellent location near the St Joseph Cathedral, accommodating hotel staff, nice breakfast selection (Western-style breakfast or a steaming bowl of pho), free internet... Best hotel we stayed at in this price bracket! The bed mattresses could be a bit more comfortable, but this might be a highly personal opinion. The church bells also ring at very strange hours. The hotel is on a quiet side alley, so you will suffer less from traffic noise nonetheless compared to any hotel in the touristy, Old Quarter. |
