Score from 392 reviews Wonderful
The breakfast room, with a cafétière of proper coffee to start the day. The facility to take a shower and change at the fitness centre before heading to the airport at the end of the day, even after checking out, and the charming staff.
Room slightly on the small side (but comfortable).
Upgrade to Club Sofitel room, facilities and buffet breakfast for $50 a night extra. Excellent gymnasium and 20 metre pool.
clean and modern rooms, free Wi Fi, friendly staff, great lake view. We booked our day trips at the hotel thru' Exotissimo and were very happy with them all. The sea food buffet at the hotel restaurant ground floor was great but best not to leave it until late as many dishes didn't get refilled.
Shower glass door leaked and we ended up with a big lake in the bathroom! Not expected this in such a hotel.
Rooms are nice and tidy Pool and gym are excellent and not too busy
Rooms are noisy, with cleaning staff loudly hearable in the hallway Quality of food is lacking Not much close by, you need a taxi for dinner
Nice clean hotel, pretty central
The food was poor and expensive, plus the pool was too covered to enjoy the nice weather Plus the staff English was poor very big difference in hoi an
Staff couldn't be more helpful. Our room faced the lakes so the view was amazing. Lovely swimming pool. Resident doctor. Would certainly stay again
Good location, right next to the west lake and a short taxi ride away from the old quarters. Hotel room was spacious with free wifi. Good gym facilities and we had a pleasant SPA experience at affordable rates. Staff were also very helpful. Overall I think it's good value for money, considering it's a 5 star establishment.
The sheets were a bit too thick even with aircon blasting at full force.
High standard of accommodation in an excellent location. The bar and viewing deck on the 20th floor is great.
Spa was excellent but reasonable, though it depended on a massager
Bad location where there's no restaurants except local ones or cafe. Hotel diners were ridicurously expensive, over US$50-100 for two. Didn't accept AMEX, though Metropole did.
We booked 2 rooms. One for our teenagers & the other for my hubby and I. They gave us the option to a family suite. Top up of only US$70 a night which was an amazing deal. Loved the suite! The view was great.
breakfast is good with lots of choice, nice swimming pool, cleaning and comfortable.
Attentive and polite staff.
Slow wifi club lounge has nothing to eat in the afternoon and is quite limited in the evening. Little variation of evening food.
I like the everything about Sofitel Palza, good facilities and location. Swimming pool is good too. Everyone friendly.
Some spots of hotel WiFi are not good.
Staff were very friendly, helpful and extremely courteous when we made requests or reported concerns.
Inconsistent wifi We used 2 rooms and both showers flooded out all over bathroom floor.
The location and service were good, all of our requests were met.
The "deluxe limousine" we paid $75 for to pick us up from the airport was a sedan, the driver didn't offer a service any better than a taxi driver would have for a fraction of the price. The mini bar was room temperature. The entertainment unit didn't work. The WiFi was constantly non-responsive. Our room key didn't work forcing us to go downstairs to have someone open the door for us. The toilet didn't flush correctly and the shower was incredibly weak. All of these things would be completely forgivable in a generic establishment, however when I'm paying for a 5 star hotel, I don't expect my stay to be generic.
Offer was good, just 100USD/night.
very tired hotel for a Sofitel, was expecting much more, although hotels in Hanoi are generally older and poorer quality compared to HCMC.
We enjoyed the fact that the property was not too far from the city and that there was a nice pool for our daughter to play in after a long day of touring.
I suppose if I had one complain it would be that the staff for the most part does not have proficient English, but this seems to be the case throughout Vietnam.
The swimming pool and fitness room were great and we upgraded to 'Club Sofitel' to enjoy a later breakfast and also 'cocktail hour' in the evening - open bar and canapés for 2 hours every night with a great view of the lake!! Location was good on West Lake with a fair amount of good western restaurants a short taxi ride away. It was also a taxi ride into the old quarter - you wouldn't want to walk on the heat and it was a bit far! The hotel was everything we expected of a Sofitel and staff were friendly. Food in the bar on the ground floor was better than we expected too. Would definitely recommend.
Convenient location, good equipped entertainment
Food is not very good :(
Breakfast, roof top bar, easy to get taxi to Old Quarter
Everything was exceptional, can not fault anything
We stayed in a club room which was nice. The location and the view from the room were excellent (near the lake). Friendly staff. Nice restaurant in the hotel.
Clear see-through doors in the bathroom are a little awkward.
- Nice clean hotel, friendly staff
- Taxi's from hotel were more expensive than taxi's we got off the street
Great location: not in the chaotic old centre but at westlake and within walking distance of mausoleum. Nice view over the lake. Excellect dinner buffet. A number of coffee bars and restaurants nearby if you are looking for another place for a meal.
Pricing of breakfast is high and often not included in rate. At checkin, staff a bit too pushy in trying to upsell to a club room.
