It was a bit expensive for the bus ride from NHA Trang, however it was a scenic drive that we considered part of our holiday.
A couple of waitresses could have been a bit more friendly/interested, but overall the staff are to be commended.
Whale Island is a relaxing, budget-priced resort. Don't expect 5 star. Cocktails ($4), beer and water were very reasonably priced. Meal servings were rather small, but delicious and interesting - and when you don't do a lot of energetic stuff, and have 3 of these meals a day, the serving does become more adequate. The kitchen was 100% attentive to our allergy problem with no fuss. The island was wonderfully quiet; no television or loud music - bliss. The bungalows are quaint, and the beach lapping was restful. Internet worked. Plenty of fresh water, even considering that all water has to be transported to the island from the mainland. Power is created by generators, however we rarely heard them. Very happy with our R & R from the busyness and noise of the mainland.
