Shower had mould; no blanket on the bed, only a sheet; When we arrived they didn't have our booking details; we had to wait 90 mins to get our rooms; wouldn't let me speak to a manager;
The manager, Simon, is a very attentive person and will go out of his way to make you comfortable. The fire dancing every Saturday night is terrific and the bartender James gets the job done.
The wine list needs improving.
very friendly staff
It was good and value of money
I was there for one night and luckily it was reggae night (Saturday) - the band was amazing and I think they're the regular Saturday night band.
Great staff, food was excellent
Shared shower and toilet
front desk fiasco booking in.
There was a prompt response from staff with any difficulties we encountered, be it connecting to WiFi or arranging transport.
No doubt there are those who would find fault but when it compares with anything else Port Vila has to offer in that price range I would challenge you to find better value for money
nice location, good food, friendly staff
the staff need training in booking/billing. If you arrive after 5 pm when Laura is not left to fix your bill you are in trouble. As well as the airport pick up was completely messed up. DON'T fix your airport pick up with them, better just take a taxi or a bus- it is completely safe.
The pool was clean and pool area relaxing. The restaurant staff were lovely. The fire show was brilliant.
They required a deposit during the stay which was not mentioned prior to arrival. I was told that it would be frozen & released the next day. It still has not been released. I spoke to my bank, who said the hotel can't release it any quicker than 10 days. If this was mentioned earlier I could have paid cash.
Was willing to share shower and bathroom for promise of free wifi, but wifi did not work 90% of the time. For the same money I could have stayed somewhere else and had my own bathroom.
Rooms were clean and good value for money. My son so enjoyed the pool which had a large area for young children. Meals were good and well priced. We will stay again, when in Port Vila
Nothing, all good
Staff were great and as helpful as they could be while working for owners that don't seem prepared to spend much money on resolving a lot of the motels problems which are the source of complaints.
Generally pretty tired and shabby hotel. Hot water is intermitment in rooms and shower head spewing water evrywhere. Linen old and stained, scratchy towels and stained sheets. Not enough space in the room to unpack clothes or stow suitcases - this is in a Superior Orchid Room. Window curtain coming into shower cubicle moldy and stained.
Rooms are old and dated in Apartment Block , 1st room had broken shower , had to move to another , didn't feel this part of the Resort was worth the money paid , the Bigger Rooms closer to the road are in much better condition
The very friendly staff who see med to be genuine and were always ready to assist. The Palms is out of town but that has its advantages of being away from Port Vila's near perpetual traffic jam of mini buses and the swarms of day trippers on Cruise Days. There's cheap transport downtown any time you want it. One can go budget, i.e. rooms without air con or step up to reasonable rooms with air con and basic cooking facilities.
Not a lot to complain about. The menu became a bit tedious after 14 days but that is not a biggie.
The staff are absolutely wonderful and helpful. The resort puts on daily events, happy hours, etc. such as Kava Stories (Thursday, learn about and taste kava when it's fresh) and trivia night (Wednesday). Free wifi! :D Sharing a shower and toilet with only one other room is fine. In a five-night stay, I only had to wait once to use the toilet. It's just a short walk to town but that includes a tiring set of steps!
Only had hot water in the shower one night out of four. :( Note that there is a 4-5% fee to pay by credit card (may not be mentioned on your booking). Smoking is permitted in covered areas (eating areas).
People are nice , you can always meet great friends there
Everything is expensive in Vila
manager was kept asking for payments & they made charges that were not on our booking sheet.
Price, friendly staff, swimming pool and gardens.
I stayed in the single bed room. The only thing I was missing was a water glass in the room. There was one in the shared toilet, but who likes to share a glass with unknown person?
