Moorings Hotel is located on the main island of Efate, right on Port Villa water front. It features an infinity pool, a restaurant, barbecue facilities and free parking. The air-conditioned guest rooms are equipped with a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. The en suite bathroom comes with shower and a hairdryer. The staff at the tour desk can assist in booking island tours and trips to the Mount Yasur Volcano. Babysitting services and airport shuttle arrangements are available at a cost. Moos Bar and Grill serves local delights which include steak, roast pork and beef through the week. Guests can also have drinks at the bar. Hotel Moorings is a 10-minute drive from the national museum, Bauerfield International Airport and the town centre. Very clean. Lovely, very efficient and helpful staff. Lacking in activities, but then they aren't a 5 star so its to be expected. Close to Downtown Quality of food good but not up to Aussie prices.

I wanted a location that was close to the airport but not very far from town and Moorings fit the bill. Also, as a solo traveler on a short stay (3 nights) I wasn't interested in spending my time meal hunting and the hotel had a restaurant which was convenient. The staff and chef were very friendly and even vegetarian meals were prepared on request with room service being free too. I also requested a variety of fruit in my room and this was provided the whole time (part of my bill) so I can say that I very much enjoyed my short stay as I felt at home as when you're in a foreign country then your hotel room is much like your home away from home. I also enjoyed the quiet location. The front desk had heaps of information brochures on tour operators so no problems there for sightseeing and other activities not provided by the hotel. This is not a luxury hotel so I was not expecting any luxuries but basic clean facilities. The only slight problem I encountered was internet connectivity due to the wrong password being given but I didn't desperately need to use the internet so didn't bother much.
