Ratia is an amazing place to visit, a private island where the water laps right up to the front veranda where we were luckly enough to see turtles of a morning. The island provided paddle boards, kayaks and snorkelling gear which we used to see amazing coral and fishes. Most of the family stayed in the Fish village which had a an amazing lounge area equipped with a bar, dinning table and chairs. Perfect place for family pre dinner drinks. We were fortunate to see turtles, dugongs and many colourful fish, The food was very good - great buffet lunch and dinners located on the beach. The staff, especially Bong and Aileen were extrely friendly and helpful. We were a family of 13 and were there to celebrate my son's and daughter -in -law's 50th birthday and Aileen and Staff went all out making us seafood platters and personalised chocolate cake . Even had a local band to sing happy birthday . It was all so very special. Ratua island really is a very spa coal place.

A great place to relax and to enjoy all the facilities and activities aviable.

The location is stunning-white sands and blue sea are immediately accessible from all buildings- the staff are genuinely friendly without being obtrusive, and the food is fresh, delicious and varied We spent 6 days swimming , kayaking, snorkeling ,bike riding, reading, turtle watching, sleeping etc. It is a wonderful place to relax and unwind . We also liked the eco and charitable emphasis of the island. They try to be self sustainable and all profits from the operation go to the Ratua foundation to assist the education of young Vanuatans

Nothing much. The bedrooms are dark but that doesn't matter because there are so many other places to go- beds under trees where you can read a book or the yacht club to access internet. Initially I also noticed the lack of a hair drier but after numerous swims a day that didn't matter.

Everything! food was delicious, staff were awesome, privacy unbelievable and the company , if we wanted it, were great fun. The entertainment and activities were really well done. The Island is exactly what we needed and better than we expected.

    Holiday was too short!

No Air Conditioning at all on the island. No where to get a break from the humidity if needed.

Mr. Bong and all Ratua team are amazing! The place is a real paradise and has a beautiful story, as a non profit project. We loved everything, but specially the people!

Ratua is an special, rare experience not to be missed if you are in this part of the world. In fact travelling half the world to reach. The location; spectacularly beautiful, a quintessential tropical paradise, coral reef, clear blue seas, sea turtles, amazing array of fish, great snorkelling and WWII diving. The accommodation; beyond chic, ethnographically interesting, conservationally inspirational, a beach and villa each to ourselves, creature comforts, dedicated hotel scents and tropical flowers... sublime! The staff: genuinely warm, welcoming, caring, helpful, friendly, and full of brilliant smiles. The food and drinks, delicious french inspired, local produce and seafood... unexpected excelence so far in the middle of the pacific. The concept, the foundation, leaves a warm feeling while enjoying the decadence. I hesitate to rave, as I would love ot keep this special place all to myself... but I have to share the beautiful expereince that is Ratua.

the fact that we had to leave!
