bed was comfortable
Convenient location, reasonable prices, reasonable facilities, helpful with providing a rental car and suggestions for places to visit.
On the last day as I was checking out, the receptionist initially wanted to charge me to sit in their foyer for the day (I had developed a cold and wanted to rest before our flight back to Efete in the evening). She changed her mind after speaking to the manager but didn't seem to realise just how upsetting the suggestion was. She said she was new but I don't know of any hotel in the world where such a suggestion would be made.
Large and comfortable room in the garden with fan, refrigerator and Tea and Coffee making facilities. Very friendly and helpful management and staff. A short walk to the local market, banks, restaurants, cafes and shops in the main street. Complimentary continental breakfast.
The internet system was very iffy however Tony's Café across the street has first class free Wi FI.
- working airport pickup - garden - central but extremely loud location - clean room (which, of course is to be expected, I just can't think of any more positiv points)
- attitude of manager (first words: I thought you'd never come (plane was delayed by about an hour, not my fault), -second words: What do you want to do tomorrow (no, you don't feel like being pushed into trips), -no smile, -head shaking when asked for (alternative) restaurants and condescending answer about two Chinese places -negative remarks about the chosen dive operator (I don't think she dives herself), but still promise to call him - which never happened - wrong information on the location of dive operator (you can't walk there, it is too far - no it wasn't, but her choice was across the street; comission?) - very negative response about when I ordered the "wrong" breakfast and refused to pay the extra (I had asked the staff and they told me a cooked breakfast was included, checking out I was told it was only continental, which I did not read in the description. Okay, might have been my fault, but I had asked, plus the swearing that followed was highly unprofessional and insulting) - no lights on terrasse - seemed like there was a bit parking lot or something of the kind in the back, so you were woken up early by a noise that made you think, there were trucks right in front of your room - very soft, very narrow beds - after being on the road for 12 hours I was looking forward to a hot shower, which didn't work; when told in the morning, the manager's only response was "It should work now". No apologies. - misleading information about location: It is very central but I wonder, where the sea view is (I didn't book a sea view room so I didn't really care, but if you do...) The rooms at the front look onto the main six lane road, then there is Unity Park and through the trees you might catch a glimpse of the water. Maybe. - restaurant service highly inconsistent. Ate there twice because the first time it was quite nice. Second exact same order was watery and seasoned at all. Waste of money.
Fantastic place, great location and staff are second to none.
The nice location close to the center, market, parks, etc.
The Wi Fi wasn't woking very well, and the staff member wasn't sometimes available at the reception.
Perfect location. Very helpful owner (I arrived on a sunday night without any local currency and she paid the taxi driver). Quaint, old-school, Pacific vibe.
