Warm, friendly and helpful staff; nice breakfasts (wonderful fresh eggs and superb croissants!); lots of comfortable couches and free wifi in the lounge. I stayed for three nights with my younger sister - there is no category above that fits us - we both really enjoyed our stay.
Near to town and markets but quiet
Not enough kitchen equipment
Loved the staff and the breakfasts. Close to town so could walk everywhere.
Not having a view. we had booked a self contained room which we didn't receive. Privacy on the bottom floor was not very good. Three night listening to cultural dancing was abit much.
Front of house staff were wonderful at taking me down on the first day & getting me a bus to take me to town!
Please put milk in the fridge, the creamer stuff is horrible!
We really enjoyed this hotel good value for money. We were on the 3rd floor. Staff very friendly especially our house maid.Nice breakfast pool side. So close to town food excellent. no hesitation in recomending to others. We had great weather as well
Make sure you have plenty of vatu to pay quoted in Australian $ wanted to be paid in Vatu only negitave
Gd location, great staff,BBQ buffet and show were gd value.lovely room overlooking pool. Breakfast each day was fresh and tasty. Would stay again.
Room was clean, but they were building when we stayed. Some meals were good, fish and chips, but an expensive rib eye was put on a base of cold mash.
Charged when flight was cancelled by bad weather in the Islands. Extensive out door renovating going on , SO THEY WERE NOT THAT BUSY> further , we stayed by default - air vanuatu picked up the tab! Beds - hard , have wooded edges which you can hardly avoid hitting with your shins. No grab rail to get out of bath/shower. Seats in restaurant need proper cushions to provide comfort and height for the shorter clients.
Well organised facilities for guests, including entertainment, with attentive staff and good economy for the level of accommodation
The complex is starting to age a little, although evidently well maintained. Some in my party encountered a modest delay with calculating and processing payments on check-out.
Price, location and staff were amazing.
The beds seemed a little hard.
I have stayed at The Melanesian many times and have always found the staff to be very professional, helpful and a joy to meet. See you again next year I hope.
The hamburger that I ordered from the pizza card was too salty and I could not eat it or the sauce for the same reason.
- the restaurant service is not the best, cocktails are average and order has to be confirmed several times or made by walking to the bar... dishes came half hour apart from each other. - noisy fridge
The room was beautiful, spacious, well equipped with comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice in the outdoor area with fresh pancakes being made and eggs cooked to order.
The Staff is very good, helpful & friendly. Always there to welcome guests. Which explains that I always come there for the pass few years.
Staff were very friendley and helpful, Rooms were clean and very pleasant.
The friendliness and helpfulness of all staff.
Clean rooms, good breakfast
close to town and friendly staff and the cultural nights
Air conditioned room was very clean, spacious and well equiped
Not all menu items were available
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Food was not good - I thought it was not possible to have a disappointing fish dinner in the Pacific, but this was it.
Good breakfast, nice pool
We arrived at 5 pm and our room wasnt ready for another 45 mins
The staff are extremely rude here! Especially the bar and dining staff. Wouldn't clear our table or bring us drinks (had to get our own off the bar). Housekeeping was also extremely poor forgetting to give us towels each morning. The pool is hot and they pour buckets of chlorine in each morning! The food really isn't great either. Don't get the crayfish! Also the wifi in lobby is terrible and barely works!!
Good continental breakfast.
Loads of small cockroaches in our room when we arrived.
Room was really big and great. We were on ground floor and was so close to the pool/bar and our little balcony was great that we felt like we had the atmosphere but then could drink our duty free/ our own food. Great Melanesian night they put on three times a week. The buffet was good and great value... Free local calls were good too, as other hotel charged $1500 per local call which is absurd as doesn't cost them anything extra. Staff was friendly and the breakfast included in the price is always a bonus.
Wifi was really slow and only available in the lobby....but you don't go on holiday to look at the internet, or do you? :/
good location clean rooms good breakfast staff friendly but not all over you
noise from the room above
