    Not much

These Villas are in the middle of Pango village and the main road and bus stop is 2 mitres from your bedroom not good! You will need to hire a car as you are too far out and buses don't run at night out to there, so going out for dinning becomes a real issue, what the most disappointing thing with these Villas is that they are facing the wrong way, No Sun and strong winds that blow you off the deck, the Villas are very dark in side and you have to have the lights on at all times, all in all a very disappointing stay, love the country and had a great time else ware after we hired a car, this is our 3 rd time in Vanuatu and wanted something special to stay in but that wasn't to be!

There is a sandy beach outside the door. Going out in kayak and seeing turtles and dugong with staff member. Modern, spacious, well equipped units. Units are in a small village and the local people are very welcoming and easy to interact with. Option to transfer payment between Australian bank accounts avoids a 3.5% credit card surcharge.

The units are very close to one another so noise, cooking odours, and smoke from adjacent units can disturb. No curtains on living area windows means there is absolutely no privacy from people walking past on the beach. Wifi in the units only free for first 60mb per stay. There is free Wifi in reception but it is very slow, and not possible to connect to from outside when reception closed. No deck chairs on veranda or beach. Tea and coffee not replaced daily.

The venue and the staff were lovely and very helpful. The villas were comfortable and well equipped with beautiful pristine views. It was an absolute pleasure staying at Vale Vale, would definitely return.

Sometimes locals clean the beach and the pools, it would be nice to have blinds/curtains on the main windows for privacy. Also dogs chased us from our deck at night, which was a shame since the nights were beautiful.

The most perfect resort. The villas are so clean and well designed. The beach is white soft sand as opposed to most other resorts which are coral and impossible to walk on. Only metres from your steps the snorkelling is sensational, sea horses 10 metres from your villa. The place is a must for people who love snorkelling, watching the ocean and who enjoy reading as the villa's are too good to leave and do tourist activities. This is paradise.

Impossible to find something you didn't like.

Resort was located away from main area which meant peace and serenity. Joy and the Staff were brilliant - nothing was too much trouble. We felt like part of the community. The meal cooked for us and neighbors on our second night was delicious and memorable. Dhouran was a great guide for spotting turtles, sea horses and dugongs and Dan was great for ensuring we paid the correct amount for buses into town and around Efate. All the staff were warm, friendly and lovely to talk with. Joy has certainly got the dream job and does it very well. Definitely visit again.

    Leaving.

A perfect place to unwind, Vale Vale villas are absolute beachfront in a secluded paradise, just 15 minutes from Port Vila. With only 8 private villas and no other resorts on the bay, you are in a tranquil haven. Each villa is spacious, comfortable (the beds are wonderful), fully self contained and spotlessly clean. Opening out onto a private deck and plunge pool, just 2 metres from the calm waters of the bay, they optimise the wonderful view and the cooling zephyrs off the water. Kayaks and snorkel gear are provided and you are usually the only ones on the water. Swimming out from the beach, you find a reef that is home to pretty tropical fish, seahorses and starfish. You can paddle kayaks to the outer reef, where you can spot the occasional turtle. We were extremely lucky to find a shy dugong grazing on the sea grass in the shallows. Joy, the manager, is kind and generous and very happy to help in any way. The staff is delightful - very friendly with willing smiles. Buses pass the door every few minutes, so transport to other resorts or into Port Vila for meals or supplies is easy. The "buses" are minivans with a red "B" in front of their number plates. You just flag them down and tell them where you want to go. They can be booked for adventures further afield, just as you would book a taxi. We absolutely loved our stay.

We loved the peace, tranquillity and small scale of Vale Vale, but if you are looking for the facilities of a larger resort, this may not be for you. While a light breakfast is supplied, there is no bar or restaurant.

We enjoyed the wonderful view and the peace at this secluded place. There are just a few villas rather than a big resort. We had the beach almost for ourselves. The villas are very nice. Joy (the manager) is very friendly and provides all the services you want. There isn't a restaurant, but there are restaurants at resorts nearby and you can ask the staff to cook for you. Anyway we preferred the fully equipped kitchen to taste the food we bought at the local market in Port Vila. Your stay comes with a free massage and a short kayak tour with a good chance to see turtles.

The mosquito net at the window of the bedroom had holes. We didn't have problems with mosquitoes, though.

Joy and the staff make your stay wonderful! They cannot have been more welcoming and accommodating. With all holidays things can go not to plan, but you should expect this and make the most of it anyway. Our stay was great with not major worries and we will be back to Val'e Val'e.

I thought Joy the manager was absolutely delightful, very warm and welcoming. We were only able to stay one night and this is not enough to get all there is to offer from this lovely peaceful place. I would recommend this to any couples who would prefer privacy and a quiet retreat in preference to the busier atmosphere of the resorts

what is there not to like? I guess the fact it is a bit more remote may not appeal to everyone. Fully self contained it may suit a couple who want to provide/cook own meals as well as dine out. Its about a 10 minute drive from Port Villa but there are a couple of nice eating places - about 15 min walk away.

A perfectly relaxing and comfortable environment with the beach literally at our doorstep. The villas are top quality and decent value. Security after dark was both reassuring and a touch unnerving as it seemed unnecessary but raised questions as to why it was needed. All of the staff were consistently friendly, in keeping with 99% of the locals. The restaurants we visited were all of a very good standard, although there is really only one within (a 15 minute) walking distance. All others required a bus trip but these came quite regularly until mid to late evening, when it might take 15 minutes wait. The lack of an on-site restaurant was not really a disadvantage as Joy supervised excellent breakfasts and the variety available within 10-15 minutes travel (meaning all the way to town - Port Vila) was excellent. We realised on staying at our next resort that there are distinct disadvantages to having an on-site restaurant if the resort is at all isolated, as the choices and variety quickly run out if staying for more than a couple of days (think breakfast and lunch every day). The local phone and torch supplied on arrival were a wonderful idea and were both of great use within the first day. The phone made life a whole lot easier. We felt the absence of deck lounges was a pity, however these were actually on order and arrived a couple of days before our departure, so no longer a problem. Having moved to another well regarded resort for the balance of our stay, Vale Vale came up trumps and we would include a stay in our next trip.

The unseasonally cooler weather meant we were not able to take advantage of the dipping pool or beach, but this was no reflection on the facilities. Access to wi-fi within the villa, rather than having to go to the office/reception would have been preferred, but this was a relatively minor inconvenience.

We enjoyed our stay and it was just what we wanted, a peaceful break away from our normal busy lives. We liked that there were only a few villas which meant that it was not in the least busy or bustling with normal commericalism in most locations.Joy was an excellent host;very welcoming and tried very hard to meet all our needs. When able, she drove us to locations. The breakfast were of a good and varied standard which included home-baked foods and a range of local fruit. The flowers were a welcome touch.

No real negatives; however suggestions may include bath robes in the villas and sun loungers for use on the beach. Perhaps a TV magazine would be useful.
