The only issue we had was the lack of umbrellas around the pool
Limited menu why staying 5 night
Beautiful resort, great food, and staff were fantastic and went out of their way to accomodate us. Highly recommend the ocean-view rooms as they are fantastic and closer to the pool, reception, etc. Spa menu was limited as the therapist had just started but she did a fabulous massage! Go snorkelling in the lagoon and get an Aga Secret Cocktail!
Expect to pay resort prices. Unable to buy Wifi in greater than two hour blocks and internet very slow at times. However, staff were very helpful and allowed us to use the office computers when needed. It didn't bother us but the TVs didn't work properly in some rooms.
Staff were so lovely to deal with and very helpful, always attended to our needs.
We were looking for accommodation from NZ that was close to the village Lefaga as we were attending a wedding there, the resort should not have lefaga as there address, its in lalomanu which was about an hour away from where the wedding was. Perhaps an explanation for overseas travellers to avoid confusion, apparently there is a part of Lalomanu Village which is also called lefaga otherwise we enjoyed our weekend.
The resort is wedged between the lagoon and a steep lush green cliff and has great sunset views. Friendly staff. Big room (on the first floor) with nice ocean view.
Restaurant with limited vegetarian options and no other restaurants nearby. No free WiFi.
The service was excellent, the food was amazing (equal to Hawkes Bay Wineries but better value). Location, tranquillity perfect for us to rest and enjoy the peace. Swam with the turtles for 30 minutes was very memorable. We will be back.
The staff were so friendly and attentive. All the meals we had were delicious. Our room was great and the bed was super comfy. All in all a very comfortable stay.
We would have liked more fish on the menu!
This resort is quite simply stunning. By the time we arrived we had driven all around Savaii & Upolu and we had never encountered anything like Aga. The backdrop of those mountains - taking an outdoor shower on the lagoon facing the resort was the highlight of our trip. The food is outstanding, the staff are impeccable and the price of the food was no more expensive than anywhere else we had been. It is impossibly clean and the beds.... The beds! So comfortable. I'd say this is an ideal honeymoon spot and if you're moving around I would recommend visiting Aga last like we did - end your trip in style! It's peaceful, tranquil and incredibly private. We will most certainly go back!
It's impossible to find fault with this place - I didn't think luxury like this was possible in Samoa.
location, service, friendly staff, snorkelling, kayaking, comfort of room.
menu could have been more varied.
Quiet, peaceful, relaxing place. Shadow on the beach. Nice reef and warm ocean.
1.5h drive from the airport, damp smell in the room, overpriced food in the resort's restaurant and renting a car, mosquitoes bites even after using repellent spray!
The Villa was very nicely appointed. comfortable bed and large bathroom. Very hospitable and welcoming people especially Margaret.
Service was a bit erratic. Menu gets a bit boring after a couple of days. Maybe could do some themed nights for dinner e.g umu night or pizza night etc. Dogs at Lalomanu Beach ruined it for some of our group - one dog was injured badly but still walking around us on the beach.
Everything! The staff were fabulous, the food was outstanding and the rooms were excellent. We stayed in the upstairs ocean view room, it was well worth the money and the views were amazing.
The shower water was cold.
Stunning setting. Lovely beach right next door and the lagoon where the resort was situated on was delightful. We both enjoy swimming and snorkelling and were able to do this all tides. The food was very good and the accommodation excellent. Plus being a smaller resort you didn't feel hemmed in.
The menu choices were a bit limiting. Especially after you have been there a few days. Also getting to different places was challenging as the resort is further away than most so not really serviced by well by taxis or buses.
Absolutely beautiful setting, tranquil and remote. The room was everything advertised and some. Exceptionally high quality bathroom and very comfortable bed. The balcolny over the lagoon gave a nice view if the lagoon life adding interest to our sun soaked afternoons. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful.
The lagoon around this resort is not so good for snorkelling and a bit rocky for swimming. However, the beach side of the resort is not bad for swimming and Lalomanu beach is a stones throw away. It's quite a distance from Apia, if there were shuttles available they weren't well advertised. There were a couple of small omissions with the room - no corkscrew or bottle opener, some utensils would have been helpful. There's a hair dryer but the power points aren't located near a mirror. Really splitting hairs as there was very little to fault with this accommodation.
Staff and food also location
accommodation superior and food dishes were delicious. With no expense spared on detail, what you will spend here - is well worth it. If your looking for quality in food presentation and taste, air con rooms presented immaculately Aga Reef is for you. Quality comes at a price and when the NZD is better than the WST - spend away. Highly recommended.
Simply cannot fault this Resort.
Amazing, friendly, helpful, lovely staff. Couldn't do enough for you, their kindness seemed genuine. Room (beachfront fale) absolutely gorgeous. Super-comfy bed, view to die for. Felt really private, no one else overlooking you, no noise from anyone else. Evening food in restaurant very good quality and delicious.
No hot water in room for whole stay (5 days). Asked about this on day 1 - on day 3 the maintenance man 'fixed' it - still no hot water. Asked him about it, was told that there was a problem with wind (there was no wind that day). Disappointing given how much we paid. Dinner was lovely but not much variety - 'Catch of the day' was more like 'Catch of the week' - same fish every day for 5 days in a row with very slight changes to how it was served - since there is nowhere else to eat it got a bit same-y! Swimming was hard since no beach to speak of, only reef and tiny pool. Snorkelling disappointing as coastline devastated by tsunami. Breakfast got boring very quickly (exactly the same every day) but on the plus side, the menu breakfasts were good and cheap.
The highlight of our stay at Aga Reef Resort were the staff, they were welcoming, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Another highlight was the resturant, every meal was excellent.
The lack of hot water resulting in cold showers. There was no TV reception in the rooms. Not 4 star standard!
Food was fantastic, location awesome, very clean.
Had trouble getting a hot shower. All facilities must be available at all times. Areas were not available for use that were advertised on web site. Booked massage, rushed back to resort to find a no show, no apology and no explanation.
Good food, good staff
Advertised cable TV wasnt working, the spa was effectively closed with staff having to travel from Apia
Good service Good food
Pool was too small No internet in rooms Tv channels were limited
Although the location is up to a 2 hour drive from the airport, it is definitiely worth it. The location of Aga is close to some of the main points of interest in Samoa so is accessable with a small drive so a hire car for a day or 2 is required. The resort itself is lovely and quiet apart from the crashing waves on the reef. The food is also excellent and the staff friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Samoa
Just a minor issue with the water temp for a shower. The gas pilot light keeps going out so you get a lot of stop start on the warm water. The manager is aware of the issue and looking at options to remedy
Nice and quiet ,not too many tourists. Loved somoa would come back to Agas as long as the pricing doesnt go up.Great staff !
Very relaxing atmosphere, fantastic staff and delicious food!
Check out took awhile because internet at reception is poor so card machine wouldn't work.
Lovely, comfortable and quiet place to stay. The rooms are very clean with a good shower and bathroom. The food fantastic, tasty and not wildly expensive. I had a room with a balcony on the second storey, had a lovely view of the resort and the ocean. Snorkelling was good for Samoa as is a reef more than a beach. There is a beach to one side of the resort, though no one seemed to use it. With that in mind, they have set it up beautifully with a small beach and a little saltwater pool which joins onto the lagoon. I loved my stay there and would go back again .
If you wanted a large sandy white beach, this may not be for you. Also, good to hire a car if you want to look around. As with most places in Samoa, there isn't a lot to do and transport that side of the island can be very expensive. Buses sometimes run but are rough to ride on and not so reliable.
