    Staff, Flexibilty, Friendly nature of everyone there, food was great, always clean, 24 hour service, also the fact that my dad who had jst had a bypass heart surgery was able to have his family visit him in his room, staff always willing to help with anything, also it was close to town, hospital, shops everthing

    I liked that it was really close to town.

    We stayed here twice during our trip to Samoa. It suited our needs perfectly in that it was good value for money, a good location just on the outskirts of Apia and close to the Robert Louis Stephenson museum. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. We enjoyed the pool and the buffet breakfast. The evening restaurant food was the best we had in Samoa and the service friendly and helpful. Overall a good experience.

    Okay the rooms were nice but few thing not good like room next door was being done up and lots of noise early, pool area wasn't in use for 1 day due to painting (why do this in the busy season) + after that deck chairs were not put back. And why have house keeping knock on door at 9am every day I wanted to sleep in relax as on holidays. Would not stay again much smaller cheers places around with better feel than this larger hotel. But very nice breakfasts

    as above are some reasons plus hard road to walk on at night and daytime (dangerous) look harder you will save more tala in you pocket

    I almost like everything, like their service and the staff are very nice...

    I didnt like their breakfast....They have the same food for breakfast everyday...

    Staff were great, shuttle to town good since nothing is within easy walking distance from any hotel in Apia. Restaurant staff very good, free breakfast OK but minimal selection of fruit, NO fresh coffee, instant only :-(. Rooms big size, bed comfortable. Close to ANZ ATM and small convenience store to pick up water and snacks.

    Hotel a little tired but clean. Really need a car to travel around Apia and Upolu, long walk to everything. Quality of restaurant not top notch, fish overcooked, pasta bland, lunches tasty and good price. Dinner go elsewhere, nice Italian restarant down the street. In all a 3 star hotel.

    This hotel is very good value for money. The staff are professional and friendly. We loved the swimming pool and the poolside restaurant where we enjoyed the excellent breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner. The food here was the best we had during our time in Samoa. The room was a bit dated but perfectly adequate and comfortable with aircon, ceiling fan, kitchenette, ensuite and outdoor balcony. Everything was clean and tidy. The elevated location above Apia is good and still only a 5 Tala taxi ride to downtown. The Robert Louis Stevenson museum is also quite close. For those wanting good, basic but clean and affordable accommodation, this hotel is ideal.

    For the price paid, I was really impressed with the food, facilities (pool / tennis court / rooms). Real value for money.

    Liked everything and would have given them an Excellent except I was comparing it with a resort facilities, beach location etc which charged 4 times as much so wasn't sure if it was fair to call it "Excellent".

    The comfortable beds Air conditioned rooms Privacy Customer service in restaurant Food in restaurant was satisfactory

    Prefer that sheets were changed every day and that towels were also provided daily. A microwave should be in every room. Milk was not provided Coffee & sugar was not topped up daily I would have liked to have seen more cultural foods e.g taro, umu, raw fish, more fish shellfish on the menu There was not enough culture shown at hotel e.g fire dance displays etc

    Pleasant staff

    My credit card was charged with the full 2 weeks of my reservation on the first day there without my being told at that time.When I tried to give notice on the Thurday to vacate for 2 days on the Saturday ,then return the Monday night , I was told that I could not be refunded those 2 days as I had booked through a booking agency. I found this all less than optimal as I have always thought 24 hours notice was all that is required to cancell any reservation for a hotel stay . There was no written copy of the hotel's cancellation policy for me to refer to available in the information book in my room . Using a booking agency apparently caused the problem . .?better to book directly with the hotel.

    The complimentary Breakfast was located on the deck upstairs and was the additional extra that made our one night stay well worthwhile. Staff were cheerful and most helpful. Enjoyed an early morning swim in the pool.

    Facilities inside the room were old ( fridge , bathroom / shower ) it could have been cleaner and with a fresher fragrance.

    I liked the early check in, the friendly receptionist, the men who carried our suitcases to our room and then onto our taxi, their availability and friendliness. I liked the cleanliness of the hotel, the decor, the air conditioning, the facilities, the wake up call.

    I didn't like the bed's mattress. It was uncomfortable.I didn't like the fact that there was no warm blankets. I got cold during the night even after turning off the air con. I went to reach for some warm bedding but found none. However, the friendly service from the staff and the deal we received compensated for all that.

    Staff were very attentive and helpful.

    Toilets were not up to scratch, hard to flush. Costings on website are in USD should be in WST which is misleading

    Staff appeared to try and be helpful (were exceptions) but I feel lacked sufficient training. This was obvious in most areas. Building had good bones to it, view was great(2nd floor).

    Poor name signage from street. Quality of bath towels picked up in morning, washed during day and returned warm from dryer and still damp. Lacked any absorbency Payment of account service. Why is their account charged out in US$ and then converted to Tala's and then to NZD, quite ridiculous and costly to tourist. Signage to dining room, office & exit was lacking

    Excellent service, friendly and very clear in their communication. Very helpful in advising of tourist information needed.

    Plumbing a bit of a concern. Had to relocate to another room but not a real big problem.

    Friendly staff (apart from one experience), nice brekky.

    Bed hadnt been changed and when we spoke to housekeeping we got this rude lady who complained to us because she was finished work for the night. She brought us clean sheets under sufferance and told us to put them on ourselves. It was not her fault she didnt do it and she was due to be gone.

    Very friendly helpful staff. Location pretty good.

    Filthy dirty. Breakfast was disgusting and although breakfast was from 7am until 10am we went at 8.30 ran out of muffins ran out of bananas watered down orange juice. Was not good value.

    The rooms were clean and the staff personable and approachable. The prawn entree dish was superb.

    People describe Insel as Colditz after the TV program and one can see why. No eggs for an omlette yet eggs for scambled eggs, the hot food at breakfast time is all too sweet. There was no sashmi and the staff hangs around tables waiting for the next thing to be taken away. The showers by the pool are absolutely discusting. The smell was awful, the shower looked as though it had never been cleaned before and only cold water came out of the nozzle. If the shower wasn't on in the mens then only a dribble came out of the womans shower and it was also cold. At least the womans shower area did not stink like the mens though.
