The well-maintained gardens ensured privacy for each room and there was no noise detected from other guests when inside your room. The bathroom set-up was an imaginative touch The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was walking distance from several little local shops if you needed little extra items for children etc. and Apia town centre was only an 8 Tala taxi ride away. There was free off-street parking for rental cars.
Some staff didn't speak very good English which meant more complex requests had to be referred to senior staff, or were misunderstood. It didn't bother us but light sleepers might find the bells from the Carmelite Monastery next door that started at 4.00 a.m. some mornings, as well as the roosters who crowed at any time of the day and the dogs that barked all across the valley during the night a bit annoying, but the singing from the Monastery was beautiful. I think you would encounter the noise problems mentioned above almost everywhere in Samoa because dogs, roosters etc roam free. The pool was quite small and not very warm (the sea was much warmer) but you would probably choose Le Manumea for its location rather than its facilities.
Lovely setting and gardens. Nice friendly staff. Quiet and peaceful. Outside bathroom, showering under the stars. Rooms very private.
No flat screen TV ....which is ok but why say there will be! Big deep puddle in bathroom which I mopped up, seems staff did not want to bother. Sheets threadbare and need replacing. Not what you expect from a pricy hotel.
Loved the bathroom setup I.e outdoors it's great. Liked the quietness and the gardens. Breakfast and lunch great.
Only one thing our evening meal was well below standard. Meat tough and we waited 1-1/2hours for it to arrive and it was cold.
Food was good and Fia Fia night excellent.
Rooms were a bit dark but very private. No view as advertised though
Friendly and relaxed
Need a car to get to the water :)
Fia Fia Night was great! Location is close to town so it's convenient to catch a taxi to dine at restaurants at night. Be sure to dine at Kokobanana opposite the hotel, the lobster and pina colada are AMAZING and really affordable!
Great location, no reason to stay in Apia when this place is a short cab ride away.
I found Le Manumea Hotel great. Princess Luna and her staff are also very friendly and helpful in every way during my stay. The place is wheelchair friendly although I took my own ramps which I used to get into my room as there is a slight step. The family fiafia nights are the nights never to miss as they are awesome showing a lot of the Samoan culture. We spent the first night speaking and laughing with some of the staff until we realized it was 6am. I'd recommend any one in a wheelchair or even without one to try this place out. Oh I nearly forgot to mention every Friday night is owned by the lengendary singer Daniel Rae Costello.
Location: 10 min walk to the Stevenson museum and 8 talk taxi ride into town.
The staff was not very welcoming and not very ready to help.
Outdoor hot shower concept is excellent and very good welcome and assistance on arrival .
Off road parking.
Whilst Luna was very helpful, her staff let her down as they plead ignorant to requests and understanding of the simplist of tasks. The room was fairly unclean and smelt mustie & moldie.
The beds were comfortable.
Unorganized. When we checked out, lady at the desk almost charged us again for couple of nights and then found out it wasn't actually my booking that came up.
The staff were amazing. You definitely get your value for money with the accommodation. It was a great and secure place to stay, especially travelling with young children. My family and myself had a great time. The pool and rooms are amazing.
The menu is quite expensive, better to just go into town to have something to eat. We did at times feel a little bit out of place. Where we previously stayed (Taufua Beach Fales) we felt as though we were part of the family. Over here they do not really involve you or let you know of any performances/entertainment the hotel may be holding eg: Fia Fia Night, so at times you feel a little bit excluded, there is no real feel of togetherness.
Loved the gardens and setting. Rooms were well kept.
Cold showers every morning, dark room and food well below par. A sloppy egg and rocket sandwich is not 'egg and chive'! The outdoor bathroom is a great concept but not with broken tiles and a floor that is a bit slimy.
lights in room too dark
The hotel itself is beautiful, the architecture is very modern yet traditional. The location was great not too far from town, the beds were very very comfortable and the airconditioning was great. I liked how the rooms were nice and private.
The main girls working in the serving area were not very friendly, I felt when I ask for something for breakfast like a tea or something they sort of found it too diffucult or had an attitude and also they did not have good english at or good understanding. The simple complimentary breakfast was ok, it was only toast egg, oats and porridge I thought i was a bit simple and that took the cook way too long to make we waited for 30min and my toast was cold and its not like they were busy. The girls serving really need to take advice from home cafe on hospitality skills as they have none. Also the workers there would sit around smoking and chatting I don't think that looked professional at all and the atmosphere was not that good, there needs to be music in reception area to create a mood. I think the workers need to be more professional as I feel they are too relaxed. Also there could be more attention to detail, the lamps had comwebs, there were littles ants on the spare bed, and the water is either very hot or cold in the shower so its not very comfortable. I didn't even try eating there as the breakfast took far too long so I can imagine how long they would take to make lunch/dinner. Also the pool was not clean properly it was still green and nopt clear, i did not want to swim in it. And the outdoor shower was ok although I could always hear noises behind the the concrete wall and it was a bit off putting as i always thought that someone would try climb over the wall.
Loved the space in the room and especially the outside shower. All staff members were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful resort at a great price.
Loved how friendly and willing to please the staff were , Booking.com had made a mistake with our booking instead of making a big deal of it our host Luna just sent us to rooms and said we will sort it in the morning , Not many hotels would do that . Loved the open shower and Suzie the cat that loved following us home .
Awesome rooms and outdoor bathrooms. There was a mix of staff, some were very helpful.
Far from town/beach and breakfast was average, the fruit was quite old
Lack of urgency of staff - guests do not feel they are a priority. Too many non paying friends and family monopolising facilities. Too far from town
Staff are very friendly and attentive. Rooms large and outdoor showers are cool.
We had a room at the front near reception and the pool and it was really noisy. Food at the hotel is expensive. Wifi was expensive at 15 Tala per hour.
