Hotel 64 on Gordon    

An awesome experience at a great hotel, the management and staff are absolutely amazing - best service ever!!

the friendliness of the kitchen staff.

i would like to know if their is no supervisors for the cleaning staff in the shower and at the back of the toilet door u could see the spiderwebs and dirty marks at the back and on the toilet walls like splaches

they hotel as a whole becouse its doesnt look anything like what i saw on booking .com and the staff was changing tv channels while we were watching

The food great and the small disntence to the beach is fair.

The food was excellent and the general decor was very pleasant. It's also well situated for easy access around Durban and very close to the two stadiums. The staff were very willing to assist us whenever we required it.

We found Hotel 64 on Gordon to be a rather noisy hotel. After the 1st night the staff kindly (and without any fuss) allowed us to change rooms as we had been kept awake until 3am by our neighbors who were slamming doors. Even in the room we were changed to, we could hear doors being closed throughout the hotel. I suspect that the locking system on the doors causes the door to 'slam' closed unless careful attention is given to closing it softly. We were a little surprised (but not really bothered) that our room wasn't serviced for the duration of our stay, although we did enjoy the chocolates that were delivered every afternoon.

It basically had everything that one requires. It was comfortable and peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good and the service excellent. What else can you ask for?

Just thought that the floors were a bit cold in the room. Some scatter carpets would sort that problem out. Nothing else really.

Reception and eating place - well designed, very modern. Food was excellent, value for money.

Very old towels, had holes in them, when complained, towels were replaced, Room 29, toilet door does not close. No hairdriers provided, luckily I carried one of my own, 1 teaspoon for 2 pax.

staff were not friendly, dinner at the Restaurant was ok but the staff were terrible, I had to get up from my table to go and order, to pay my bill no one was Interested, will not stay here again

The air conditioning unit keeps the room cool thank you but it's over the bed which means you can get very cold in the middle of the night.

Staff attitude - Seems communication in English needs improvement. - Reception staff need to explain better when handing room cards to customers on functionality - Maintenance staff avoided taking responsibility for non-functional air conditioning unit in room 31 during our visit

Its away from city centre noise and ups and downs, a bit private

1. Breakfast was poorly prepared, it was also limited. 2. The room floors were not tidy/clean. 3. We later realised that linen was not changed daily. 4. Bathroom without windows had very poor ventilation (sucking fan was not in good working conditions) 5. Stairs from first floor is not concrete made, causing a lot of noise when people went up and down the stairs at night. 6. Rooms were not insulated from passage noise. 7. We had to pay for shower caps

There was nothing to like.

Cement floors, steel dresser as though u were in army camp or hostel. No room service for coffee in the morning. Useless service fr staff

Entrance and general relaxing facilities are very poor - reception very unimpressive, bar - no chairs Nowhere to sit and relax - everything in the entrance

It's proximity to city center.

sweeping and dusting standard was not good; things such as toilet brush toilet paper and air freshner is a must. the hotel must consider to have a carpet that will fit with the bed linen.

The rate was good

Only 2 TV channels out of an advertised 12 channels were working. This was reported 3 times during my 3 day stay and never rectified. Dishes used for room service were placed outside the door by the cleaning staff and were not removed for 48 hrs in spite of 2 requests to remove them

Good location, Modern rooms

The bed and the sheets were very nice

1. I was sleeping in Room 3, the floor were very dirty 2. When we arrive at the reception were were not told how the lights operates and i suggest that first hand information must be received from the reception 3. Same night of arrival, the water was cold, i bathed with the cold water 4. I was booked for two nights, i was sharing my room with a friend. Only one toilet paper was provided and at some stage we ran out of the tissue paper which i think was embarrasing for me as a guest to go to the reception for the toiletpaper which must have been provided or added during housekeeping 5. The towels were not changed, the second day we used dirty towels, which is the area that must be improved Thanx for accommodating us,

The set up of a double bed is uncomfortable, used linen of a single bed in double bed. I would like to suggest that non pork meats must mixed with pork meat in one tray.
