Adderley Hotel  

Very nice hotel, very neat and very good value for money!

We have never seen a hotel like this, everything was really wonderful. Upon our arrival we were even upgraded (for no additional costs!!) to a Luxury Suite. The stuff was really helpful and very pleasant, rooms and bathrooms were very clean and very spacious. The hotel is situated right in the city centre, just 2-minute walk from Long Street. Taxis are just outside the entrance which is really convenient for going around the city. Also, the hotel arranges airport transfers and the guy who was driving us was really nice and very helpful. All in all, a great experience! We would definitely stay here again! :)

Just a very minor thing - internet wasn't free.

The staff were very helpful. The rooms were extremely spacious and had good facilities. The rooms and bathroom were clean. We did not eat at the restaurant but this did look nice and it was a bit cold for the pool but looked like a nice area. Very close to Long and Kloof Street.

Lack of free wifi...makes such a difference.

The location, the service and the size of the room.

Almost everything, it's gorgeous and really convenient if you are visiting the city it's really clean ( but they could get rid of that rug in the middle of the room)

The parking is too far

Being upgraded to a nicer room for free, staff always being present and helpful, stylish, clean and contemporary, location was fantastic

View wasn't great, key kept deactivating, breakfast was very expensive and not very good.

Very generously sized, comfortable and well decorated rooms. surprisingly quiet despite being in the city center.

We thought we had parked in the right parking but we had our wheels clamped & a R300 fine as a result. It may be useful for a staff member to check this when you check in so you are aware of which are the correct spaces.

Position is great and room (a junior suite) extremely spacious and comfortable.

Bar and restaurant service unpredictable and slow. Wrong items brought. Wines on wine menu out of stock. Some confusion about breakfast (down to Booking.com) - we paid in advance for breakfast and found it only covered continental: cooked breakfast was extra.

) When we arrived, we were booked in and given key's to our room. Once we got there the key did not work, and we had to wait for reception staff to come and open for us. 2) We entered the room, and guess what….2x single beds on anniversary. It was also not the room we booked. Having specifically asked for double/queen size bed, I responded and phoned reception AGAIN. 3) They sent housekeeping, while we are in the room, only push beds against each other ad change bedding. 4) I went out, and when returning, the key again did not work, luckily my wife was in the room. We were also told that because its our anniversary we would be given a complimentary bottle of champagne and cheeseplatter, we are still waiting……….!!!! 5) During all this, there was no manager on site, and a the girl who was wearing the managers name tag (Kevin) informed me she is not Kevin, nor the manager! 6) I made her phone the manager, and they put us into another room. Guess what, they come to room 305 first to take the bedding from that room and move it to our new room(401) Shocking stuff! 7) After 2hours of excitement (or should I say dissapointmnet) our breakaway could begin, or so we thought. 8) We just started relaxing, and my wife heard the door. When going to have a look, another couple walked in!!!!!!!! He apoligised and left. How did they manage to get the key to the room??? I immediately phoned reception, and they apologised and said reception lady made a mistake. This was totally unacceptable, and we did not trust leaving our rooms, or doing anything, as we were expecting the next person to walk in on us! 9) By this time my wife wanted to return home, and to be honest me too. I just wanted it to end. WHat were to be a relaxing breakaway, a disaster. We decided to make the best of a terrible situation. We went out for the evening. 10) When we returned 22:30…Guess what, our key did not work AGAIN!! Not at all. It did not want to get us in. No manager.

The willingness of the staff to find solutions to problems. Our reservation had somehow not come through correctly via booking.com and they did not have any rooms left. The offered us a room at another hotel, and eventually they arranged that we could stay in the original hotel but in a larger room than booked.

Great location for both going out and shopping. Staff were always more than willing to help with any request.

The staff is great, very pleasant and co-operative. Helped me arrange for a cape peninsula tour and also care rental at the last minute.

Just one small hitch - didn't get the wake-up call in the morning.

The hotel is very nicely situated and there is enough (paid) parking space. From the swimming pool at the top deck there is a nice view over the city. The luxury rooms are very large.

We arrived late and were told the hotel was overbooked. We were moved to another hotel which didn't compare to the Adderley Hotel. As compensation we got a luxury room and free breakfast. The breakfast itself is very simple. The entrance of the building feels a bit narrow. The swimming pool has space for a handful of people. Overall the experience was positive though.

The location was great. I got a good price for early booking. During season it's slightly expensive. But the staff was excellent. I stayed in luxury room so it was very nice and spacious. Room service was good and prompt. I really enjoyed my stay. The location is the main factor it's right next to everything.

This hotel location is central and you are at a walking distance from many city attractions. You also get transportation (taxi, train...) to anywhere you want to go in no time. The rooms are exceptionally clean, huge, very comfortable and equipped with everything you need. The staff is making every minute of your stay in the hotel a special moment. Kevin, the manager briefed on the best attractions in town and you can get advice on good restaurants and places to have fun from all the staff. Amazing hotel and Fantastic place to stay in Cape Town !!!

Not much diversity on the breakfast...but not a real issue since you can make your breakfast in your room to suit your special needs/taste.

Terrible experience! We waited almost an hour to check in because they could not find our booking. There was no hand soap or face cloths available. The carpet was not clean. The shower did not drain and we were left with two inches of water in the shower. All in all I feel that we did not get any value for our money and therefore refused to stay the second night as we had planned. I truly hope that you rectify these problems as soon as possible. On the other hand, given the circumstances, the staff who checked us in were very apologetic and felt bad that they could not deal with the problems at hand. Given that this stay was a gift from my sister I feel that she should be recompensed in some way as we truly did not enjoy our stay. Thank you for your consideration.

Very noisy and loud in the rooms as a main street is directly in the front of the hotel and the rooms have thin glas

Huge rooms and friendly, helpful staff

Our honeymoon sweet was two twin beds pushed close. They did however fix this when we asked and we were fine.

First class hotel. Will stay there whenever I go to Cape Town.

The rooms were well equipped and comfortable

No food available after 10pm - no allowances made for guests delayed by late flights/trains etc. no assistance offered either!

Spacious rooms and selfhelp-kitchenette!

Seems like the restaurant staff are a bit under staff, as we had to wait to order drinks and to pay! This is fine with us, but the international tourist may have a problem with it.

Some fuss about the bill, which however the hotel spontaneously settled a day later.

The rooms are huge, clean and beautifully equiped. The hotel is really well situated near Long Street. The staff is really helpful.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful ,food was excellent.My girls were especially delighted with the spacious room and superb facilities.Roof top pool is small,but view from the 11th floor terrace was interesting. Sadly,the hotel was full for the other nights of our stay in Cape Town. This hotel is in an excellent and safe location.We will definitely come back !!
