Nestled on a hilltop overlooking the Zuurberg Mountains, this working citrus farm offers self-catering cottages and chalets. It is 4 km from the Addo Elephant National Park.

This place is awesome, the staff is great. Fireplace in the lodge, bbq if you want to cook your own meal, everything is perfect if you can get there.
You really need a 4x4 to get there and it is an hour away from addo elephant park
15km on a gravel road not ideal.road has damaged parts which are difficult to negotiate by car
Amazing location, in the middle of the bush, beautiful decor, fantastic atmosphere
Poor breakfast and dinner, lack of fruits and vegetables, very limited choice.
1. Jonathan the Addo manager was very nice to us - one night he came and picked us up with his own car as the road taking to Addo Palace was in very bad conditions and we did not have a 4X4 vehicle. 2. Dinner at Addo was tasty and good value for money 3. Location is very quiet and suggestive overlooking mountains
1. Road to get to Addo Palace is a 12 KM dirty road, if it rains it might get very tricky to drive 2. Too many flies (and insects) inside the dining place
We stayed for two nights at Addo. We wanted to visit the Elephant Park, but didn't find any lodging inside of the park - however the Addo Palace was much better than a stay inside of the park could ever have been. The suppers were very good, and the staff provided us with excellent advice on how to get the most out of our short stay. We warmely recommend the place! Monica and Giovanni from Sardinia, Italy
Charged more than the quoted rate from Booking.com This is not a private reserve and should not use this as a ruse for people to book accommodation
* Staff super friendly * Lobby very cosy * very good dinners (but a lot...) * Extremely quiet * Nice decoration * Perfect Support from staff fro activities. First hotel/lodge/ ever where they washed the car down on our departure day.

peace and quietness
Gorgeous place, nice people, excellent meal. We stayed only for one night because we were on a road trip, but you can easily stay a week. It is in the middle of the nature without missing any comfort. The Addo elephant park is just a stone's throw away. I can just advice to spend some days there.
-Swimming-pool, -Friendly/Helpful Manager, -Bedroom was nice, -Spacious Bathroom, -Drinks very affordable, -Having the pets around was nice,
-No Aircon, -Pillows, very uncomfortable, -Good Idea: have option of Bedroom with Jacuzzi,
We stayed at the beautiful Addo Palace for 3 nights and what a gem it is! The location is stunning, miles from anywhere and completely at one with nature. The dirt road in is not a chore, we saw so much wildlife especially at night, including bush buck, baboons & a jackal! Dinner was true African fare and plentiful and it was a real privilege to have our breakfast overlooking such a beautiful view. The extensive views around the whole of the lodge offer the chance to see beautiful sunrises and sunsets and such amazing night skies. Elaine & Warren made the stay complete, they made us so feel completely at home, nothing was too much trouble and joined us for drinks around the fire pit on our last evening. Addo Palace is 4 star rustic comfort in a haven of peace and tranquillity and it really does work it's magic, leaving nothing but wonderful memories!
So little to dislike - yes some of the woodwork needs replacing and repairing, especially around the windows and some of the floors need sanding and re-varnishing, but you know what it doesn't make any difference - it still works it's magic!
The first appearance.
The sheep dog peed on our stoipe in front of the Manager. The stoipe wasn't cleaned for or during our arrival, causing flies waking us each morning at 4.00am.Poor lighting through out, difficult to read.Meal portions were too small. No reception area,no BAR area,no mugs or glasses for the coffee and water on offer ad lib.Door lock to Room 2 ,kept jaming.
