Security & hospitality
No free internet for clients
great view very friendly welcoming nice apartment very central though darling street is not very nice
not exactly like pictures a bit loud because very central in the morning a very strong smell of food
Great modern decor in Stella apartment, very clean, comfortable, and child friendly
DSTV Signal poor, noisy water pipes in main bedroom.
Well appointed and modern finishes. Flat is well equipped with good quality crockery and appliances. Very central area.
Greater frequency of cleaning when on long stay. No free wifi, but this is apparently being attended to for all their properties.
Well located building, cleanliness, building security
the apartment is quite good
The people who work in the management, are bad and not helpful at all. The treatment and they way they handle busniess is so bad. The internet is chargeable, even when I put the credit card didn't go throw.
No Reception area, no communication was given as too what to do on arrival to get keys. No instruction as what to do with the keys when we left, not even the security company would take them.. poor communication..
The location and the way the building was set up. It was so beautiful, it looked like it did not belong in the CBD.
The checkout time was too early and the fact that there is no cleaning person daily was a hassle. The check in process was also confusing as there was no confirmation or anyone waiting for us when we got to the building.
Proximity to CICC where the SASOG Congress was being held Good security within apartments The apartmenr setup
There wa no cleaning of the apartment for a whole week I was there; The mirrror fell off the wall; No phone in the room; I called for assistance re: Wi-Fi but did get any help; I only saw the Afribode "person"once for less than 5minutes for billing The bathroom towels did look clean - brown
The water pressure in the shower
Beautiful view of Table Mountain. Centrally located with good parking facilities.
There was no air conditioner and with temperatures near 40 degrees it was very uncomfortable.
I was there for professionnal reasons and appreciated the fact that it was near the Convention center and close to businesses.
No airconditioning, windows do not open to outside thus no airflow. Did not feel safe in the area at night.
the location was so good just as the center of Cape town with great view to Table Mountain and i got nice big apartment it can easily fit for 2-3 .
there was no AC in the apartment and it was hot in cape town. my apartment was just above the Indian bazar food and the smell was awful most of the day.
My perception of this property was that it was an apartment managed by a body corporate with a caretaker, and not a hotel with 24 hour service. If you can manage to adopt a similar perception, then this property is quite nice. Staff: My only contact with the hotel was a mobile number. Every time I called this number, it was answered. The lady on the other side was always friendly and helpful. The person who ‘checked’ me ‘in’, was also friendly and helpful. Facilities: Apart from the aircon issue (mentioned under ‘what didn’t you like’), the apartment was rather charming. I wouldn’t mind owning an apartment like this. It was fully equipped with appliances such as an automatic washing machine, iron, microwave, stove and conventional oven. Everything was clean and looked rather new. Cleanliness: Everything was clean when I arrived. I did find a small spot on my pillow, but assume it was a stain rather than dirt. Location: This property is very close to the Fugard theatre (1km) as well as the ArtsCape theatre(s), which I visited a number of times during my stay.
Checking in: Checking in is not similar to checking into most hotels. Someone met me at the entrance of the parking, and had to drive with me in the car to my allocated spot. This did not bother me, but may be a problem for some guests. Checking out was rather easy – I only had to leave the key with security. Comfort: My most important issue with this property was the lack of air conditioning. I visited Cape Town during a heat wave and the heat in the apartment was unbearable. When I arrived, the lady who checked me in promised to bring a fan, but didn’t. I slept on the couch in the living room (which was slightly cooler than the living room but still very hot) for the first evening. On the morning of the second day I sent a text message to the mobile number, requesting a fan. She responded immediately. A fan was delivered to my apartment at about 19:00 the evening. From there it was not problem (and the heat subsided as well). Something else that may be a problem to some guests (although it did not bother me), was that this particular apartment had very steep stairs to the room. Just keep this in mind when choosing the apartment. Some guests may find it very difficult to access the bedroom area. Facilities: Please note that these apartments are not serviced during your stay. It will be serviced before your arrival, though. Also, mirrors were a problem. There was only one small shaving mirror in the bathroom and no mirrors in the bedroom. There was a large mirror in the living area. Location: Except for the theatres, I did not really like the area. I would not feel safe walking in that area during the night. However, since I rented a car, this did not bother me. I would not book accommodation in that area again, though. If you fall into one of the following categories, I would not recommend the property: 1) If you are new to Cape Town and/or don’t have your own transportation.
The location is good, close to many touristic points, like the Grand Parade and the Longstreet. Many facilities and restaurants at walking distance and easy to take a cab to everywhere else. The apartment is comfortable and clean, exactly what you see in the pics
They dont offer any internet access. It is written at booking.com, confirmed by email, we could even find WiFi spots named "Afribode", but all passwords the staff gave us were useless. They've tried to help us: Sent 3 different people along the day (which was disturbing too) who didnt know what was happening. The visits stopped the day we paid, then the staff disapeared and we got the same result: no internet.
you can get what you want at home
It's difficult to find the hotel staff if you have any problem, and there is no room service every day,I am suffer for cleaning the room every day and the WIFI is not free, it's not worth as the price.
This apartment was perfect. Not too big, and not small, the loft above was wonderful and the view from the window was brilliant - both the city as well as table mountain. Nora, who checked us in, was particularly helpful. The best part was that we used email to book a day trip for 12 hours in the future (cell reception was weak) and they not only responded, but we had a Cape Point/Boulders Beach tour that exceeded expectations.
Finding the building was no issue, but security seemed to not recognise my reservation at first. It took a bit of searching before the manager of the actual Afribode units was contacted. After that, smooth sailing.
The apartment was tastefully appointed. Location was convenient.
The parking was quite far from the actual apartment. The day I was checking out was a mission to return the keys, i was not given any instructions from the staff on this. The apartments are not cleaned once you take occupance.
This apartament is great, well located, even though it is on the town. People who never travelled to south africa, can enjoy this location, cause it is in the comercial center of the city, and easily can enjoy lots of facilities
The problem of being in a comercial center is that during the nights it is dead and scary. There is almost noone walking trought the streets, and people who are going to be hosted there have to take taxis to get back home. As it also located on center you cannot enjoy a mantinal walk or run in the beaches easily.
Right downtown, close to Indian food bazaar. Great food right next door
Had to wait over an hour for a staff member to come with paperwork and to orientate us to the building. Wifi is advertised as free of charge....IT Is not free. It was $18 Canadian and there was no offer of a rebate even when if was shown in writing. They blamed the Booking.com website. The air conditioning mysteriously turned off every time we went out. Always came back to a hot apartment. The television channels worked about half the time. When channels did come in, half the time the volume didn't work. Take my advice and stay at a hotel. We will next time.
everything about the hotel is awesome, security is good and it was a good experience, keep it up..
The apartment was not serviced in the 3 days that I was there, and this was not mentioned when I made the booking!
