My wife got stuck in the bathroom and the stafmember battle to get permission to brake the door to get her out. I eventually got the door open In bathroom were no soap shampoo etc In room at bed floor was wet
the staff were so unfreindly knocked at our door in the middle of the night
Everything was not up to standard. Noise level too high. Lift renovations in the morning too disturbing. No hot water, had to shower with cold water for the entire weekend. Our room was stuffy the entire weekend and our bedding had a very bad smell. Your cleaning staff was not friendly at all. I asked one to hold a lift for me at ground floor, and she told me that the lift does not wait for anyone, Yet when we got to the 6th floor, she opened the lift door and called one other staff member to bring a key and thenafter proceeded to the 10th floor, without even apologising to us.
The room itself was fine, house keeping cleaned the room and changed linen every day which was brilliant. The bed was comfortable enough for the price we paid it was ok.
The elevator is too small and takes time to reach you. The carpets on the corridors are dirty and smelly- its almost scary because you think if the corridor is in that condition, then the rooms will also be bad. We stayed for 3 nights, and they don't refill toilet paper, that's very important in a place occupied by ladies! Also you would go up to the room only to find that your key is not working and needs to be reset- if we booked for 3 nights, it should not need to be reset everyday. There was never any hot water all the 3 days. Also the biggest of the problems is parking- they need to organize parking for the guests seeing that the hotel is located in the city centre. If these could be addressed, then the hotel could get another star or two :)
Everthing was perfect
I loved the clean sheets and room.
The carpets on the different floors. If carpets would be removed or changed it would give the hotel a different feel towards the overall cleanliness of the hotel
Nothing! I was treated very badly! How can you chase a young lady out into the night. Worst part is that I did make the payment! The error was in their side!!!
Location and security risk in street at night
The only working lift did not go to our floor(3),we had no hot water in the morning, the toilet did not flush, nor did the phone work. We will not stay there again!
Toilet wasn't too clean the toilet brush had smellllllllll. There was a cocroach found in the room which was killed by me! The sugar was less for morning tea.
I only liked their bed, was Comfortable, and the decoration was nice too.
the floor wasnt well cleaned, no fridge in the room, alot has to be renewed especially the bathroom too old and makes it dirty. Their breakfast is poor concerning the fact that i had to pay extra for it, was in anoder hotel b4 going der and their breakfast was included in the prize and was nice. Albany hotel doesnt deserve dat 3 star rate. The entrace is awesome n clean but when u go upstairs its a different world. I wouldnt recommend it. Blue waters is better search for it.
The place is nice n I think it's gonna be even nicer,n good too cause I've noticed that there were renovations done..
Please lifts must be notifying or show the floor u going to..
Not far from the beach, Absa Bank and Shops.
The door was not working with the card, they have to come and open for us using a key every time when we need to get inside the room.
The room was spacious, neat &kept tidy. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet and staff were all superb.
The phones were not in working order. The lift was a bit troublesome and sometimes not operational. The room's aircon was faulty and leaked onto our bags.
Receptionist insisted we pay cash R200 refundable for parking.we only had debit cards which were refused and told to go withdraw at ATM.the location is very unsafe and hotel parking is some walking distance from hotel past horrible passage.the state of the bathroom was a shame.
lifts not working as well as telephone. to get something we had to walk to the reception e.g iron. No tissues in the room
People there are so caring
The new entrance really looks - enticing.
1.The old carpet on the fifth floor outside the rooms - I hope their revamping includes removal of that carpet 2. I reported that my room had a stinky urine smell and I was treated like a stupid fool - the person who came to check came with a spray - gave a few puffs - " and now does that satisfy you? I could have slapped him with my back hand if only I could. But I have a better punishment - I will never contribute to his salary ever again !! And given a chance a few I know will never do too!
their friendly staff
the breeze, safety, unique of the hotel
maybe a bit of noise on early evenings
Good, helpful and friendly staff.
the bathrooms do not have windows and there's no ventilation like extractor fan, which make it moisty and uncomfortable to use the bathroom. Carpets are too old, and breakfast food is always the same everyday. Lifts too old and doesn't work sometimes.
There was nothing to like
The lift didnt work and have to climb stairs to floor number 5. The tv in the room didnt even work. No save parking for my car and have to park at Avis.
Location didn't feel safe
The lady in reception was so helpfull when we complained about the room they gave to us,she moved us to another room and we were happy.
The room we got was at 11th floor,on our arival we were told that there was gonna be a loadsheding at 8pm and when we asked if something like lights or candles would be provided to us,we were told to buy them ourselves. They do'nt have any backup incase of loadsheding. My legs are still so painfull from walking down the steps from 11th floor.
