the staff members that we mwt were very friendly and the beds were comfortable and the view was great yes, the first roomwe stayed in was so many flies it was really disturbing and the was a lot of cigarrette smell but after we complained, we were moved to a more comfortable room. we had a great time overall |

The front line staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet and calm, especially considering the size & number of guests. The location was just not right for us, we didn't feel safe at all, especially on the nights we had to walk fromt he parking area to the hotel. The dining hall is too small for the number of guests - on our last morning we had to wait for +-10mins before getting a table to sit. The waitresses also seemed a bit overwhelmed by the number of guests and their requests. The bathrooms were too small. |

The Albany is centrally situated in the Durban CBD, it is ideally situated close to the ICC, thus for conference go'ers it is a cheaper alternative or no frills accomodation. The front desk staff are not the friendliest I have met! |

The hotel has a modern feel to it since the renovation. It is close to all the facilities I would use: the Playhouse, the ity hall, a walk to the beach and alsoclose to bars and restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful as I had forgotten my toothbrush and one of them baught one for me. I prefer to smoke in my room. Maybe they could consider some smoking rooms? |

Parking garage excess should be available at for 24 hours. Got Back to the hotel at 2 in the morning left car parked outside the Hotel and picked up a traffic fine. Was not aware parking facilities were available ata certain time only |

Everything was well during my stay at your hotel. Your breakfast:- you must add varieties, you saved us with the same breakfast as the first day we came there. Your sausages were not tasteful at all in such a way that we couldn't eat them. |

Efficient servicing and cleaning of room. Very good breakfast. The room was excellent for comfort. There is only one bar which is also a public bar onto the main street. There should be a more private hotel bar where people cannot come in off the street. |

Safe, relatively easy access to the places in town that I needed to get to. Reasonably clean. Extremely expensive for what it was. Due to the Lions being in town but the room photos online belie how budget this hotel is. If it hadn't been the only one available I doubt I would have stayed here in the first place. |

Quality of room excellent in this price range. Buffet breakfast very good. Front desk staff friendly and efficient, and aware of my reservation through booking.com. Initially I thought I had paid by credit card on the booking.com website. The check-in staff correctly pointed out that booking.com does not charge customers' credit cards directly, and that the hotel charges you on arrival. Table service at dinner could have been a bit more pro-active |

Yes, the attitude of the receptionist upon checking-in was disgraceful, her conduct was rude, arrogant, and bordered on criminal, when she refused to return my credit card. She insisted I pay again, despite having paid through booking.com. I arrived at the hotel late - 12. |

Rooms are really spacious. I am very happy I spent my day at Durban in Albany Hotel. Well secured and well comfort. Staff also good mannered. Enjoyed breakfast. I reached at Albany hotel late night at 11.30PM. The lady on reception counter was knew nothing about my booking. She even didn't know about www.booking.com. I shown her mail I got from booking.com and about my booking confirmation. After 15 minutes calling here and there she adviced me to speak with Hotel Manager next Morning. |

The housekeeping and restaurant staff were friendly - although I think I 'made the first move'. I don't think the Albany deserves its 3 Star rating. The building itself, the restaurant and bar and my room were in good repair.Yet, although I was on the 11th floor, I had a cockroach and mosquitoes in my room. However, I was particularly disappointed by the inertia of the receptionist who I checked in with and the lack of interest most of the receptionists took in me. |

Good breakfast buffet. Despite noisy environment quiet rooms (at least on the 8th floor). Security guard at the main door. Entrance next to disco, plenty of young people standing in the roads which was not really comfortable to walk through from the parking to the hotel. |

fair hotel if you are traveling for business and are only going to change and sleep there. They should bring people attention to the fact that the hotel is not in a very upmarket area. We felt unsave walking from the hotel to the parking area. Our main purpose for staying there, was to walk to the ICC. that was inpossible from a safety point of vieu. |

Staff good and helpful. Accomodation comfortable. Strict control of visitors to rooms. Occupants' privacy well respected. Vehicle parking safe. Hotel facilities excellent. No discrimination of any form. Breakfast is served rather late. |

The primary reason for my decision was the price and affordability of the hotel. On arrival I found the accommodation to be of good quality. The location of the hotel is not ideal as it is not situated in the best part of town, however once you get inside you would not tell the difference. Also, the parking garage closes at 12am which we were not advised of, and on return from our night out at around 130am on Sunday morning, we found that the garage was closed and only then were we advised of the closing time. |
