When we booked my husband ask for smoking room, when we arrived they told us its a smoking free hotel. my husband is diabetic with kidney failure and can walk far distances and had to climb stair to the roof top to smoke. he was not impressed with that. why didnt you let us know its smoking free hotel so we could booked somewhere else.
Windows wouldn't lock and a balcony right outside which someone could easily have reached. Bathroom very small and cramped. Stayed here 5 years ago and now it's starting to feel a bit run down.
No porter to carry bags
Lovely location. Bit out from CBD so needed hire car but probably worth it for the view! Good staff. Good restaurant on site.
Room bit dated but not bad. Worth the money.
The view & the comfy bed
Small bathroom. My room was on the 5th floor Which meant guests at the pool could look up at my room.
Wonderful setting and great comfort
They were unable to place us at the dinner table that we had booked - double booking
very close to the water. beuitiful views ,and great walking paths right by the hotel.
limited menu, restaraunt was way to busy for its size. no indoor fitness facility.
The location, restaurant and the general service of the hotel and staff are very good. The hotel is excellent value for money.
This was the fourth time we stayed with a booking.com booking, and every time we have had an issue with the check in staff. Either due to a discrepancy in the rates, or as was the case this time, because they checked our colleague into our room, which rooms had different rates and time periods for the bookings. The staff then required us to pay for the more expensive room, claiming the hotel was full, even when they were given the proof that they made the mistake. It took almost an hour to check in, and the whole matter was handled very unprofessional by the manager on duty, who at a stage suggested we were trying to get an upgrade without paying for it. We never once suggested we wanted the more expensive room, and specifically requested them to move the guest wrongly checked in to his correct room to enable us to occupy the room we booked. The manager refused to move the guest, but expected us to pay for the more expensive room, even though the mistake was on their side.
Free valet service makes you feel like a rock-star.
The guys taking care of our car were very nice guys, they took really care of the guests
Most of the girls in reception were arrogant.
There food was out of this world with the views to go with it.
The bathrooms were to small. The bar facility at the pool took a bit long because they had to go up 6 floors every time to get you a drink.
Friendly staff. Very comfortable bed.
Small bathroom. Breakfast not great. Runny scrambled eggs and chef doesn't use salt in eggs, muffins, mushrooms etc. Breakfast staff look very unhappy and are slow.
The view and quality of the restaurant
Requested a sea facing room in my booking, but had to pay in to switch on arrival. Would have been very disappointed if there was none available
This very nice and trendy hotel is situated close to the centre of Capetown and close to the beaches of Clifton. The hotel has a very nice atmosphere. We stayed in an executive suite with amazing views over the ocean. Under the suites there is a very nice bar / restaurant with excellent coffee. Also the sushi in the hotel is very good (especially combined with the pool!)
restaurant chairs the most uncomfotable ever
Loved the view from the room. The front staff were very friendly.
Requested a mid level room. Was initially given a room by the pool. Asked front to be moved, we wanted a quiet room. The manager moved us to a room right under the dining room. Were kept awake until all hours of the night. Huge let down. Very poor rating for the on duty manager.
lovely view, very clean.
very poor shower , small, shelf made it impossible to stand under the sprinker, either too hot when turned strong or no water when turned down to cooler. very limited menu for food at night.
The views. The koi was terrific great service and location
Bathroom was much too small wi fi was inadequate
Fabulous views- roomy accommodation and superb restaurant
Shower design is poor and contributes to splashing back of toilet and floor
The views are amazing, possibly the best in CapeTown and the staff are really friendly and helpful - except the lady at reception
The rooms are incredibly small for the room rate and the bathrooms disappointing. NO bathroom vanity meant I had to close the loo to have somewhere for my vanity bag :-) As a very frequent traveler - in both SA and abroad, I was very surprised by just how small the rooms was - and I didn't book the cheapest room!
Lovely boutique hotel, with a beautiful view. Ask for a room with sea view (rooms 01, 02, 03, 04 or 05 on any floor) as the view is breathtaking. Excellent restaurant (Koi) serving asian fusion cuisine, also available in room service. The staff is very nice and attentive.
Transportation to Capetown. The hotel has a transport service but it is quite expensive (170 rand to V&A Waterfront of cticc). And they don't propose alternative solutions like calling for a taxi.
We liked the sea view
The fact that you need to ask for your car everytime you want to go somewhere. The hotel is more suited for business trips rather than leisure. No self catering. Small rooms. Limited Room Service. Asked for a plug extension - they were all out?
Bad smells at pool Rooms a bit small and old fashioned
