Beautiful setting Fabulous room Excellent dining Stunning grounds
We spent 2 nights at this luxury place. Everything was so nice, comfortable and peaceful. All the staff made us feel very welcome. The facilities were great with the swimmingpool, the restaurants and the suroundings. We also did winetasting and had a tour in the winecellar. It was great.
Lovely location, nice wine tasting. Very good breakfast
Restaurant and attention to detail in hotel
Can improve service re recreational activities in terms of information i.e. maps of mountain bike trails, hiking etc.
Did not have the choice of wine although on the menu. Beyerskloof Pinotage. Staff in restaurant also not trained for a 5 star hotel. Staff should not be leaning against doors etc.
Beautiful rooms, magnificent views, amazing food and wine. The perfect place to unwind and relax!
Effectiveness of staff Setting of the hotel
the inferior quality of the towels in the bathroom, hard and overused
Staying at the Asara is always a delightful experience. You are spoiled from the moment you arrive until the time you depart by wonderful friendly, helpful & attentive staff. The hotel facilities are excellent, the restaurant has wonderful views over the estate, complete with a lake all framed with the Stellenbosch mountains in the background. We loved the whole experience & will definitely stay at Asara again.
Restaurant & coffee shop menus were identical & such a small choice of dishes might become irritating if you stayed at Asara for more than a day or so.
Very friendly and efficient welcome on arrival. We immediately realised we had made the right decision to stay here. Our room was delightful and exceptionally clean. The situation and view from the restaurant terrace just made our stay even before the food arrived and it certainly lived up to expectations when it did. This was so good we returned four days later.
For us the only thing missing was a tennis court!
staff, food, accommodation, wines, best buffet and breakfast ever, security.
I am struggling to think of anything.
A little corporate... Too big
The views are amazing, the food so well presented with friendly staff & lovely ambiance, the welcome basket of fruit, chocolate & bottle of Red, the space in the courtyard room, white soft linen , felt like royalty
The neighbours next to us kept on coming to our balcony , so we had to close the curtains for privacy , we were in room 103 & it's obviously a family room (I suggest a temporary partition when there is only 1 couple using room 103) otherwise everything else was perfect
A very gracious hotel, well located for exploring the Western Cape's Wine Trail. Our room was elegant, the grounds likewise and the service freindly and attentive.
Breakfasts were tasty but the one dinner we had there was very ordinary. That said, there are many outstanding dining options in the Stellenbosch area. ,
A great stay - very nice location, friendly and competent staff, good food and wine, amazing terracce and surroundings incl. pool, excellent breakfast. - an Overall perfect stay!
Absolutely nothing to claim!
views over the lake, vines and mountains was breathtaking, service was great.
the Sansibar burger joint was OK, service was really slow even though it was empty. The restaurant was really disappointing, the steak was awful and we are talking about grilled sirloin, nothing fancy, but it was tough and tasteless we both left it. They offered a very limited selection of wines outside their own which were average at best. For a place that charges this kind of money it simply isn't acceptable. It ruined what should have been a great end to a special day for wife's 40th birthday. Stay here but eat elsewhere.
Had a problem with aircon and informed them earlier to sort it, this was not done and came back to a hot room at 2 am and my problem was not solved
Choice of places to eat on site, helpful pleasant staff, size of rooms, turn down service. The view and peaceful setting
Staff professionalism and the food.
big and nice rooms friendly staff good located (for wine tasting all around Stellenbosch) very nice breakfast buffet (also good choice of menu breakfast) good wine different restaurants (also for snacks)
The staffs are very helpful. Great estate with a very big wineyard. We enjoyed our run around the estate looking at the winery.
A wonderful hotel in stunning surroundings - highly recommend it. The food was great and the wine ..........beautiful!!
The Estate is amazing! The rooms, the atmosphere as well as the courtyard is very nice! The food at raphaels & also at sansibar is delicious & the wine tasting is great too!
The decor is traditional with dark woods and rich fabrics. The bathrooms are sizeable and have a bath, shower and separate toilet. Liked the free WiFi throughout the property. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and willing to go out of their way to assist.
I regret we could not stay longer.
Bedroom, pool, service and restaurant
A empty mini bar, you have to pre order your drinks and they will put them into the fridge. To be honest with a place of such class I would expect the mini bar to have a selection of drinks already in it ( of course a charge for the drinks )
